When Kate Dykstra was a young girl, she went to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and saw animators at work inside the Animation Academy. She immediately knew she wanted a career in art and defined her ultimate goal—to work at Disney someday.
Kate grew up in Florida, watching tons of Disney animated films and visiting Walt Disney World Resort every year with her family. She attended the University of Tampa and received a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. During college, she often traveled across the country as an artist, attending pop culture conventions. After graduating, she worked on several fun art projects before beginning her career as a designer of licensed sports apparel.
Eventually, Kate realized her goal and made her way to Disney, where she is currently thriving as an assistant product designer for the pin-trading team. She spends her days telling fantastic stories, sharing her passion for Disney Parks and creating magic through the spectacular pins she helps design.
