Thanks Earstou! :goodvibes

I have an event that starts at 3pm today at a Walmart Supercenter. I have such a headache right now and it's making me feel awful. It's only a 4 hour event though and I think it should go fairly quickly. I hope so anyway. It's chicken noodle soup and fire roasted tomatoes so at least I have something to do. :)

How does everyone do sales wise setting up at Food Avenue? Last week I had quite a few people who liked the Cole water but had their hands full with packages and said they would remember to pick some up next time. I can't say that I would get back in line for most items either.

anyone get their Maybelline/Garnier kit for this Saturday??:confused3 It's Thursday, 4:20pm here and no kit yet!

Choxie Artisan Tiles
Target 11/25
YUM!
I've been sitting here upset because I wasn't fast enough to grab this. Then I realized this is Thanksgiving weekend. I'll either be in another state with family, or have a house full of relatives. Okay, now I feel better about missing it!
Seems weird to have to start worrying about schedules around the holidays!

My Food Ave is after check-out & as people are leaving the store. So my sales always suck. No one wants to go back in line to pay. I've had people try to hand me money many times. They end up deciding not to buy it that day. They can pay IN Food Ave too, but there is always a line there.

On the slim chance that I can get a manager to break the "rules" & allow me to set up near the product, I sell more.....or should I say GIVE AWAY more with there next to free coupons. lol

Oh crud! I got so excited to see it I didn't realize it was Thanksgiving weekend either! I've got a Mom & me scrapbook crop w/ my stepdaughter that day, but I can leave it a little early and still make the event.

Okay, now I don't feel so bad about sucky sales! I guess they know what they're doing.

For those of you who received your Maybelline/Garnier kit for tomorow, are you missing the (2) Instant Age Rewind Perfectors? I have the two samples of mascara but not the other product that we need to purchase the q-tips for.

Wish I could tell you but I don't have a kit!
Does not sound like you'll be needing Q-tips for anything!

I think it's strange, people are supposed to try the age perfector or whatever it is on their hand, look at mascara, yet we are handing out lotion!
Anyone else find this one a little weird and could be hard to talk to people about these things!

At this point, I'm glad this is only 4 hours. Sure hope it's enhanced. I just emailed Daniel about the missing product. Since we're just displaying the mascara, I see no need to purchase q-tips since I'm missing the product that we're to put it on. You'd think they'd send us the individual mascara brushes and a small mirror to try the mascara. What can you tell about a product sitting on the table? :confused3 And whats with 400 moisture cream samples for 4 hours? I'll be lucky if 50 people come by my table. Guess they'll be getting a few to take home. :rotfl:

Wow, just received a reply from Daniel regarding my missing product. His reply - Please do not purchase the missing items. Promote what you have in the kit. Great. Didn’t respond about purchasing the q-tips so I guess I’ll just make a $.75 purchase at the beginning.

Ok, another question for today. Has anyone uploaded more than one photo for an event? Daniel sent an email stating to take as many photos of the Small Planet event as possible and we would earn points for those additional photos. Wanted photos with customer interaction, etc… I found five consumers to have their photo taken with me handing them a sample. Uploaded first photo as usual - no problem. Tried to upload a 2nd photo and it overrides the first photo. Probably will have to email Daniel again today for this dilemma, but thought maybe somebody here had done this before.

I am interested in applying. I have read through this thread and have a couple questions if anyone is willing to help!

-are all jobs paid at roughly $17/hr? Does it list on each job before you sign up for them how much they pay? How often do you get paid? Do you just get mailed a check after each job?

-what does the application process entail? Phone interview, etc.?

-when I initially looked into this, I was able to see open jobs in my area. Now I can't (I assume until after I apply/get hired). I am curious if there are lots of jobs in my area (Portland, Maine) or very few.

This looks like it would be a great second job for me. Any info you can provide is appreciated!

Need ideas where to donate those styrofoam allergan cups (both sizes). I have 16 sleeves of those & don't see a use for them.

Well, that's good in a way because it sounds like you'll just promote the mascara (will be hard to do!:sad2: ) and the Garnier lotion!:thumbsup2 I'll let you know what comes in my kit if/when I ever receive it!

I looked up jobs for my friend in Augusta and there were quite a few at the Walmarts around her area when I looked - tell me your zip code and I will look it up.

You get about $73 after taxes for most 5 hour jobs, if you're one of the states that has the $10 raise (I think Maine probably is). They pay once a week on Wednesdays (get checks usually Friday or Sat.), and it could take 2-3 weeks after each job to get paid, but sometimes it's much quicker. You get extra money for equipment such as microwaves, and extra for enhanced events (wearing certain hats, aprons, etc.).

After you do the application online, they call you. You need to know the answers to the video you watch online during your application process.

1. None of us are paid $17/hr. Some states are still at the original $14/hr. Some states received a $10/event raise which comes to $16.50/hr for 4 hr event or $16/hr for 5 hr event.

2. I applied 1.5 yrs ago. Application was somewhat comical actually. Name, address, dob, ss#, can you play saxophone? Complete some required legal paperwork, get notarized & mail or fax it in. I don't know about now. I never had a phone interview. They don't list the pay for each job. We have a pay sheet that simply tells us how much we are paid based upon # of hours & if you complete each stage you are supposed to. It takes me about 2-3 weeks to receive a check after working. They do take out taxes since you are an employee. Most other demo companies hire you as an independent contractor & don't take out taxes.

3. Right now in MA where I live, there are only 5 open events in a 40 mile radius of my house. They are on dates I am already working.

For you in Portland, ME, I see 2 events still available at Kmart & Walmart both in Auburn. I searched 40 miles. Both events are on 10/20. I don't know if you have more listings usually available. They are probably booked already. You most likely have same stores I do. Target, Kmart, Walmart & WalmartSupercenters. I do have my first Petco coming up soon. First ever seen in 1.5 yrs.

Thanks for that information! It is VERY helpful. Sounds like it is just what I am looking for. My zip is 04105 - thanks for looking for me!
