I'm looking around for some shoes to go to WDW. I love flip flops...but I had a disaster walking around in them. I don't have enough support on my arch so by the end of the day I'm suffering pretty bad.

I'd like to buy some shoes or really cute sandals that will work with me as long as they have arch support. I'm thinking about stopping my by local DSW or something similar and seeing what they have. But I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on shoes?

I'm sure I just need support or a shoe I can add the support into with out it rubbing my heel.

I would recommend you go to a store that specializes in fitting runners. I live in a town smaller than yours and we have a small runner's store that I never paid any attention to until I had a foot injury. My Dr HIGHLY recommend that I get some custom made orthotics and take them to the store to be fit. I am holding off on the shoes until a little closer to our trip, but a friend who went said the place was amazing! You don't just grab a shoe, try it on and check out. The employees, actually know the shoes, examine your feet and will find the best pair for you! Then they put you on a tread mill with a close up camera on your feet to insure that your foot is striking the surface properly. I thought it would be wildly expensive, but it was really not any more than your average foot locker - which has some very expensive and some very affordalbe options! You can get recomendations from others of course, or give it a go yourself, but I would call around or survey your runner friends and see if you can find a store that really knows what they are doing. Of course, that will not help you much if you are in the market for "street shoes" instead of athletic shoes - but at WSW, I think comfort is KEY!

New Balance makes insoles that are incredible. Why not just get the insoles thar may be made for higher arches?

You know what's funny. I started looking for those before I got this message! I think that's what I'm going to do. They make insole for sandals! Which is what I'm looking for. Thanks for the information! I'm going to go hunting now that the New Balance store here in town.
