This is my first marathon and I put in an estimated finish of 5:45,my bib number is 11928,is it likely I'll be in the last corral?I'll be fine with the second to last corral but I don't want to be in the last one.
Marathon bib # 6195. Submitted 4:30 proof of time from the Wine Glass marathon.
Psyched to get my bib.but last year I was 3766 and in Corral C (with the same proof of time), so go figure.
All we can do is wait and see

Something is weird about the Goofy numbers. I see people with submitted finish times that are within minutes of each other but whose numbers are way different. There is even a couple who submitted the same time and got bib numbers that differed by over 3000.
Is there some logic to this that I am missing? I figure they are assigned by finish times but I see examples where someone's finish time who was slower than mine getting a bib number that is way lower than mine.
I only ask as it could impact corral placement if these numbers vary that much for people with finish times within minutes of one another.

Who knows. One would think that they would do them numerically in order of CALCULATED finish time based on proof of time submitted. But I have been known to exhibit logic and common sense to a fault.
I realize, though, had I submitted my half time (1:48) as proof of time instead of my marathon time, I would have had a somewhat lower Goofy number (as evident by what's mostly been reported) because that calculates to a better estimated marathon finish by 5 minutes.
But this time, it really doesn't matter since based on my readiness and goals, I could start anywhere!

I wonder if it isn't some weird mix of your submitted time, estimated time, registration date and even how you registered (VISA discount, charity, etc.).
There is also the mix of numbers of single race registrants and Goofy participants. In other words, if they put 'x' number of racers in each corral, there is going to be a percentage of half or full racers plus a percentage of Goofy racers in each. And if they fill corrals based on times, these percentages are going to vary all the way down the line.
Actually, I am seeing across various forums and FB some confusion with the Goofy numbers. I am wondering if there is not an error. Remember, until the runDisney site links to the trackshack URL, these should be considered preliminary.
I am actually a little shocked by my bib. It is about 900 higher than last year using the exact same proof race and estimated finish time. Either there is an error, there are 900 faster new folks, or karma kicked in to put me a corral or two back commiserate with my injury and training losses.
Hubby & I submitted the same finish time with a half of 2:37 & his number is 22346 while mine is 25285. Both Goofy.
Tabetha said:I don't want to say "I told you so", to my dear, loving husband. But I kept telling him he needed to submit his recent 10K time to get a decent bib number for Goofy.
(We've run all our Disney Half races together, at my slow-a** pace. I got him to run a 10K to get a proof of his own, much faster pace.)
He did great, ran a sub-hour 10k, then didn't submit before the cut-off...
So his Goofy bib has him in Corral H - last corral...
We'll be visiting Race Relations...
Fair enough, we're going to try and bump my sister up a corral with her recent sub 3 hour half marathon so I only have to drop back 2 instead of 3 to join her.
Oh, shenannigans!
