Waits at Disney Springs

How long have the waits been lately to ride the amphicars and/or the hot air balloon?

Hi! I'm a long time lurker of these boards, but just got back and thought I'd share our recent experience. We (Me, husband, 2 sons 9 and 11) are all pretty sad that the trip is over! We had a wonderful time and the unexpected cool weather was amazing!

Friday 4/2: Arrived at Disney Springs around noon. Immediately put our name on the virtual line for Gideon's. Estimated wait was 4.5 hours. We ate at Art Smith Homecomin' (SO GOOD!) and did some shopping at WOD. The estimated wait to get into WOD was 1 hour, but we were in within 20 mins. We had hoped to take a ride on the amphicars, but wait was over an hour and we didn't want to miss our Gideon's time. ...

Tues 4/6: Hit up Disney Springs one last time before heading home. Arrived at 10:15 and line for Gideons looked to be about 45-60 mins. Thought we'd have luck riding an amphicar, but the wait was already over an hour. ...

I edited out most of her report (this info was from someone who thought most waits were not excessive over Easter weekend. Makes me think the wait times she posted for Amphicars might have been pretty long.

Does anyone know if you have to wait at boathouse or is it a virtual wait like Gideon’s?

The balloon can be tricky. Fiasco from the Dis did a vlog and wind can play a major part in the wait time or if you can even get on. I think he had to go back 3 times before he was able to ride. The take away I got from it was don't set your trip by it and be flexible. If I remember correctly, he got a text message when his turn was up.

I don’t think there are lines to get INTO Springs. The queue starts at each establishment. Try the balloon before 10am as they are half off, or as I’ve read. Hope that the winds are not above 25mph.

The risk for DS is if You are coming by car. If the garages are full, you will Not be able to get in. Not an issue for those coming by Disney bus. I don’t know about rideshares. Reports are you can come by foot.

For dining at Boathouse or just riding amphicar?

Dining is best to make reservation. You might not get in otherwise. It’s possible to try for seating at DS restaurants. I was successful at Homecomin’ for brunch and Ragland Road for supper - but solo, so seated at bar.

I have ADR for boathouse, I’m talking about for riding amphicar after dinner
