I have to say that I wasn't really aware that you could still get points at the sold out resorts, until reading this board. I have been a DVC member for only about 3 years, and was aware that you could get them via resales, but not directly thru Disney. I have some questions and was wondering if someone could help me...Does Disney act as a broker and you are actually buying from another DVC member or does Disney actually own these points (they bought them back from a dvc owner)? what is the typical price per point for additional points at the sold out resorts? Is it the current price for the current resort they are selling? Any other important points you can think of?? :confused3

I have 200 at SSR, but would be interested in getting some additional points - perhaps at BCV or WLV...Not even sure how many. I suppose I'd have to look at what it would cost first... :flower:

Disney owns the points. They pick them up via ROFR on resale contracts priced below DVC's (secret) thresholds.

The current price for all resorts except SSR is $92 per point, with the contract ending in 2042.

For SSR points, the base price is $98. If you add 100 points or more you qualify for a discount of $8 off per point. Contract ends in 2054.

Contracts of 50 pts or more can be financed through DVC. Points added-on in this manner must be for your existing Use Year (unless you add 150 or more, in which cae you can get a new master contract with a different UY.) To add on a some resorts you may have to go on a waiting list before the points are available. DVC doesn't have an unlimited supply, so it may take weeks or months before the number of points you want at a given resort with your Use Year are available.
