Wait, weren't you just at Disney World? An August '14 Pre-Trip Report *updated 8/24*

I know I said it before, but Emma is so beautiful!

Wow, how cool that the hospital does that!

very exciting that Judi & Emma will be coming home :)

Oh she is so so precious. Love the pictures!

Thank you! the cursing and blessing of camera phones is we have them all the time to take pictures fairly constantly :lmao:

Oh my gracious! She really is just perfect! I hear you on the fertility issues! I had to take clomid with my 2nd & we have been trying for a year so far this time with no luck!

yeah, with Olivia we were there with the clomid and some other stuff too, and few miscarriages, the whole 9 yards. With Peter it was a little easier and then with Emma we hadn't even officially started trying and *bang* ... definitely think that, at least for us, the less pressure on us the easier it went

Haha- ADR 9 months prior- I love it!! How lucky are y'all- the stork dinner, that's great! Our hospital dinners blow.

Can't wait to see the bringing home outfit.

Yeah, the food at this hospital really wasn't bad - and in the front of the baby center they had coffee and juice and usually turkey sandwiches and stuff for the dads that were there late. Really can't complain.

Wow, that burger sounds really tasty!

It was rather tasty - the place is pretty good and a great beer selection and prices aren't bad ... plus we had a coupon so win-win - and Judi isn't really into burgers (she doesn't eat beef or pork) so was a great opportunity to go. So win-win-win I guess

Emma is just precious! And I think she already has as much hair as Izzy does! :rotfl: Super cute!

That is really neat that the hospital does the fancy meal! We didn't have anything like that. :confused3

All our kids had a bit of hair but Emma definitely has way more than the others and it is also darker than what the other kids had - we will see if it changes or stays darker

Yeah, this is the same hospital we had Peter at so we were surprised when they mentioned it, but this time we were expecting it. I think it is a really good idea as it lets the parents kinda chill out a bit and just enjoy the moment. I am sure it is really great for 1st time parents

So happy for your family - when you say how you are feeling blessed, it brings me back to our drive home from the hospital with Izzy - we listened to Wishes and were both in tears that our little wish had come true! :lovestruc

Aw, that's a really sweet story. Just thinking back to when we were at a pretty low point with having trouble conceiving what would become Olivia and now we have 3 healthy kids - just really made me think that that we are really lucky and even if things don't work out the way you thought of with the timing you want think do work out like they are supposed to and to just be happy :)

Oh my gosh she is so cute!

Thank you! We think so too :goodvibes

She is so cute! Not helping my baby fever :)

thank you - but aw, didn't mean to cause any fevers :guilty:

Wow...that burger looks great.

Okay, princess: Emma is just getting more beautiful each day. Yes, being the youngest she is going to need to be heard!

How nice of the hospital to do that for you. I've never heard of that before. :thumbsup2

I scarfed that burger down - it was yummy :goodvibes

Emma is kinda funny in that she is generally rather quiet - but when she makes noise it is really loud and really high pitched ... definitely knows she needs to cut through the craziness at our house :rotfl:

We hadn't heard of it before we had Peter at the same hospital but thought it was a really nice concept and enjoyed our time alone and to just talk, etc.

very exciting that Judi & Emma will be coming home :)

Thank you Alexis - we think we did pretty good with her ;)

We were very glad to have that time for the meal together and just decompress a bit

That baby is so precious! who can even stand it! Can't wait to see her outfit.

Thank you! ... pictures coming soon :goodvibes

***********************

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone. Quick update that Judi and Emma came home yesterday and everyone is doing quite well.

I will have another update up later today with "going home" pictures and I also home to have some of the finished girls room ... which is coming out just *slightly* girly

Such a sweet baby!

I have to say I'm rather surprised by the number of posters who had not heard of the dinner for the new parents given by the hospital. My oldest daughter will be 33 this Fall and we had that with each of our girls. They called it the "Candlelight Dinner" back then and brought us into a separate room. I just assumed most hospitals did that.

Looking forward to the coming home photos!

Emma is just beautiful! Glad you are all under one roof now. Looking forward to pictures of Emma heading home and the girls' room.

Oh my she is just beautiful!!!!! I just love the name Emma! That was a great choice! But most of I have to say I love the scrubs!!!! That is definitely you:rotfl2:. Just kidding you make them look good! Congrats and enjoy that baby. They just seem to grow over night which I am sure you guys are well aware of that. Emma probably has the most fans that she has never even met yet than any baby I have ever known;)

Aw, thanks Annie. Oh, that's nice they brought you to a separate room. This was still just in the regular room - but was definitely still nice and just gave us a chance to exhale a bit.

Will be posting right after this response!

Thank you Jennifer! It is nice to be home - if a bit hectic with the people and dogs and everything - definitely need to develop a bit of a routine.

Both are coming up right after this!

Thank you Kathy! We settled on a girls name pretty quickly - after a few starts and stops. That is actually another reason we were glad that it was a girl rather than a boy - we had no ideas on other boy names :lmao:

They really do grow fast. I was hanging some pictures today including some of Olivia as a baby an also school photos - crazy how much she has grown so fast!

Pre Trip Report: Part 29 - The Yet Another One with Baby Emma

We last left off with our last night in the hospital, so the following morning it was time to start the process of being discharged! .... but first some cute random smiling baby pictures:

And then it was time to change into the going home outfit - at first Emma wasn't really a fan of posing:

So mama had to pic her up to calm her down - pacifier helped too:

After filling out some last paperwork it was time to go! Emma doesn't seem to think her first car ride is that big of a deal:

And we arrived safe at home ... Olivia and Peter were just a tad excited about it. Actually, Olivia continued to be too excited about the whole thing and we are often having to calm her down.

She's also been excited - but also proud - to get to hold Emma on occasion:

So so far, so good. We had her first check-up with out pediatrician this morning and everything still looks good as she has started to gain back some of the wait that she lost. Judi's parents are set to stay through the weekend - which is great, but I think having the three on our own for the first time come Monday will be a shock to us.

Besides Emma coming home yesterday I also managed to get some decorating done.

In the new guest room (which was Olivia's room - if the paint color didn't give it away) I put up over the desk my blueprint of one of the facades of Cinderella's Castle:

And on the side wall to painting I had gotten during the recent May the 4th be with you event:

aaaaaaaaannnnnddddd we got all the princesses up on the walls of the new girls room. I think overall the room came out a tad girly, what do you think?

We still need to paint in the new guest room and do the trip in the girls room - but I think that all can wait as I think we have enough going on now.

Hopefully the next update will actually be trip related ;)

Congrats to you and Judi!! Emma is absolutely beautiful!! I wish you both nights as full of sleep as possible, and days filled with joy.

Love the coming home outfit! The photos with Olivia are just precious! How sweet that she is so excited. Soon enough the novelty wears off.

Yes, I'd say that's a pretty girly room! That blueprint of the castle is really cool, too!

Keep those gorgeous baby pics coming. She's precious.

Love the castle blueprint! How cool!

And that room is a little girl's dream. I'm not about to let my Maddie see that. Her room is so girly that it glows pink! :rotfl:

Oh that going home outfit. I. Can't. Even. She is a princess! Love the girl room- is it weird that I would be fine if my room was decorated w Disney princesses!?

Did you do the castle blueprint or buy that??

That princess outfit is too sweet! I can't even!! After buying all boy stuff for the past 6 years- I hope to one day buy pink, princessy stuff!!

Love the blueprint! That's really cool for a guest room & love the girls' room... You can never be too girly!!

Okay, I've said so before, I'll say it again. Emma is so beautiful. And cute. Honestly, you've got such cute kids. Good job on your genetics :P

The dinner thing is really sweet. I've never heard of it before but how awesome. I'm sure I won't be that lucky here ;)

I like the room. Sure, it's a tad girly, but little girls won't care.

Holy Princess-Palooza!! That is one princessy room! I am sure the room is absolutely loved though by your daughters! (Even if one is too young to know it yet)

Love the coming home outfit! Adorable!

The castle blueprint is amazing! I love subtle Disney art/home items. Its Disney but not in your face Disney (Girls room are of course 100% allowed and should be over the top though :thumbsup2)

Congrats to you and Judi!! Emma is absolutely beautiful!! I wish you both nights as full of sleep as possible, and days filled with joy.

Thank you very much! so far the nights have been, well, not bad. Days are a bit more stressful but as much because the other kids are a handful and like over excited as for Emma.

Love the coming home outfit! The photos with Olivia are just precious! How sweet that she is so excited. Soon enough the novelty wears off.

Yes, I'd say that's a pretty girly room! That blueprint of the castle is really cool, too!

Thanks Annie! Olivia is just so super excited and wants to hold her all the time. It's great but almost too much at times :rotfl:

Yeah, figured take advantage of Olivia being into princesses while I can!

Keep those gorgeous baby pics coming. She's precious.

Love the castle blueprint! How cool!

Thanks Shannon - definitely will keep the pics coming.

Olivia is very excited about her room - she had to help with all of the princesses - and her definition of help doesn't always match mine.

Oh that going home outfit. I. Can't. Even. She is a princess! Love the girl room- is it weird that I would be fine if my room was decorated w Disney princesses!?

Did you do the castle blueprint or buy that??

I think my favorite part about Emma's going home outfit is that Judi picked it out all on her own. I sometimes wonder if she questions how into Disney I am ... and then she goes and picks an outfit with a Cinderella Castle on it

I think it is totally fine that you want to decorate your room with Disney Princesses. Probably would be weird if I wanted to do that however :lmao:

I actually got the Castle blueprint off of eBay - I was looking for something for my office that was Disney related but still looked a bit sophisticated and I think it fit the bit - and to top it off it wasn't cray expensive, so win-win!
