Wait, weren't you just at Disney World? An August '14 Pre-Trip Report *updated 8/24*

That princess outfit is too sweet! I can't even!! After buying all boy stuff for the past 6 years- I hope to one day buy pink, princessy stuff!!

Love the blueprint! That's really cool for a guest room & love the girls' room... You can never be too girly!!

Yeah, it is definitely fun to buy little girl clothes - though I do like formal boy clothes ... I think they look super cute in polos and fake ties, etc.

Yeah, I feel like we don't force it on Olivia but she really gravitates towards girly stuff

Okay, I've said so before, I'll say it again. Emma is so beautiful. And cute. Honestly, you've got such cute kids. Good job on your genetics :P

The dinner thing is really sweet. I've never heard of it before but how awesome. I'm sure I won't be that lucky here ;)

I like the room. Sure, it's a tad girly, but little girls won't care.

Thanks! Not quite sure how we did it but we definitely seem to have genes that match well to make cute kids ... though having two attractive girls will be super fun for me come teenage years *sigh*

I am sure they must give you something good in Canadia - or at least some maple syrup as a parting gift or something ;)

No, Olivia definitely does not care that it is a tad girly :rotfl2:

Holy Princess-Palooza!! That is one princessy room! I am sure the room is absolutely loved though by your daughters! (Even if one is too young to know it yet)

Love the coming home outfit! Adorable!

The castle blueprint is amazing! I love subtle Disney art/home items. Its Disney but not in your face Disney (Girls room are of course 100% allowed and should be over the top though :thumbsup2)

It is quite Princess-Palooza ... Judi honestly didn't think I would be able to fit all of them on the walls, but I was pretty determined.

Thank you - Judi loves little tutus and stuff like that ... really are a lot of cute things for little girls

That's exactly how I felt about the Blueprint - definitely Disney but a bit more sophisticated. Plus just kinda cool and I had never seen anything like it before .... sort of like me ;)

Awww! That going home outfit is too darling!! And you can see the pride/excitement on Olivia's face in those pics!

I'm in love with Emma's going home outfit...too cute.

The room looks great...and it's a girl room so it's supposed to be girly.

Good luck tomorrow being just the five of you.

Aw, cute going-home outfit! And good job with Judi picking it out! :thumbsup2

That's so sweet that Olivia is so excited about her sister. :lovestruc

Wow, those are some big princesses on those walls! Good job fitting them all in! :rotfl: Looks great!

OMG that baby's smile is SOO precious! And I love the room!

Can't wait to see you and your family go on adventures!

The stork club dinner is such a cute idea.
LOVE the going home outfit! Adorable!
Congratulations again, sounds like everything is going very smoothly so far. :thumbsup2 Emma is just so precious, I know I won't be the only one who isn't upset if the next update isn't necessarily trip related. ;)

Aww so happy to see more pics of the super adorable Emma!! Love the princess room and hearing how great things are going!

Such cute pictures of Emma! So great that Olivia is so happy to be a big sis :)

The girls' room came out AMAZING!

Thanks so much! Olivia is pretty much over the moon and is super excited to have a new "roommate"

Thanks Kathy - not sure if Emma really knew what was going on, but we thought it was cute. They did some "professional" pictures of her in the hospital in that outfit that came out great so as soon as we get the proofs I will post that as well.

Thanks - definitely already been a struggle in some ways ... mostly with Peter as he didn't sleep well last night and actually asked to sleep in our bed - which he literally has never done in his life. Definitely he is not happy that "Gada" (Grandpa) is no longer here. But we are surviving - trying to find more activities for them to do.

Thanks! I think Judi did a good job! Yeah, Olivia is super excited - had to tell her a few times that "honey, you are at about an 11, we need you at about a 5, ok?" :rotfl:

Yeah, hard to tell how big they were just on the photo online. But I was pretty determined to fit them in and Olivia actually really enjoyed "helping" me with them - she would peal off the pieces of the princesses (each one was made up about about 6 pieces) and I would put them on and then she would help put on the other related stickers - or as she calls them "accessories" :lmao:

Thanks! Emma is really into making faces - seems like she has a lot of active dreams. I think until we get into a rhythm even just a trip to the store is going to be an "adventure" for us :rotfl2:

Yeah, we were very happy about the idea of the Stork Dinner - definitely a good time to decompress a bit and just slow down and focus on each other as much as on Emma and the rest of the family.

Thanks you very much - so far things are going as smoothly as could be expected ... definitely need to develop a bit of a rhythm which I think will be a bit tough for the rest of the summer. In the fall Olivia will be in full day kindergarten and Peter will start having pre-school 2 mornings a week so I think that will help.

Haha - well, I think even if the next update is trip related I will sneak in some more Emma pics ;)

Aww so happy to see more pics of the super adorable Emma!! Love the princess room and hearing how great things are going!

Thanks Lauren - she seems to be pretty photogenic which is helpful. Thanks!

Such cute pictures of Emma! So great that Olivia is so happy to be a big sis :)

The girls' room came out AMAZING!

Thanks Alexis - Olivia is super happy! Thanks - I am quite happy with it and a good thing is I think the shade of purple we picked is a bit more mature looking and the princesses easily peel off so I think the room will be something Olivia can grow into as well

Thanks Alicia! So far so good ... though Emma has been sleeping a ton of late (I know, I know, I knocked on wood like 30 times after saying it) almost too much so might have wake her up soon - and just feel so mean waking her.

:yay: Woah that is too awesome for words! That is the thing that really got me and really makes me hesitant on a 2nd. Lack of sleep. I never knew how good sleep really is for you mentally, until it's not there.

Yeah, so when we had Olivia they made us watch this video showing the dangers of shaking a baby - and Judi was like a hormonal crying mess after watching it. So fortunately no video this time. We do still have to fill out this huge list of questions where we have to go through all this reading material covering the basics of taking care of a baby, etc. I want to just "THIS IS OUR THRID KID" over the whole thing, but not sure that flies.

Oh my goodness! I can't believe the video (although, I totally understand it - would just be a lot, like you said, for a hormonal woman!). But not just the video, seriously questionnaires?! That is insane.

Aw LOVE the Princess outfit! Too precious. You guys really know how to make cute kids:thumbsup2

Woah! Look at that Princess room? Do you ever feel when you walk out of that room to chug a beer to bring the manliness back?!:lmao: ;) Seriously though, that's something I would love to do, and hopefully can do one day.

Don't get me wrong - sleep is still at a premium ... actually, Peter has gotten really bad and is up for stretches every night now and still gets up early. That's actually been the tough part - the baby's been easy :rotfl:

For the questionaire Judi just put that we understood it all without really getting into the details - so at least that seemed to cover it

Thanks! We think we do alright in the gene-passing department.

Oh yeah, chug a beer, scratch, belch, use power tools, gotta do all those manly thing ;)

It was fun to do though and I like that it is pretty much confined to that room - at least on the walls, etc. (tons of dress up stuff in the play room). I am sure you will have a blast doing something similar some day :goodvibes

I'm not sure if I've posted on here yet but 'm following along. Your trip sounds great. Baby Emma is just the cutest thing and her outfit was pretty darn adorable too. Also, I love the girls' room, I would have loved to have a room like that when I was a kid. Can't wait to hear more.

Emma's going home outfit is too cool! And of course, the new girls princess room looks amazing, but I was excited about the new guest room. The star wars prints are awesome, especially the one with Luke at the Lars Homestead. And the castle blueprint is awesome!!! :cool1:

Thanks for joining Miss Disney! :welcome:

Thanks - we think she is pretty darn cute too. Olivia is pretty happy with her room - going to be hard to top

Thanks Matt - glad someone noticed the cool Star Wars prints :lmao: The one with Luke on Tatooine actually has a glow in the dark overlay of the celebration on Endor - so it goes form basically the start of Episode IV to the end of Episode VI. Thought you might like the blueprint :goodvibes

Pre Trip Report: Part 30 - Magic Bands, BOG, and a Mini-Trip Report

Morning everyone, and Happy August ... meaning we are in the month that our trip to Disney World takes place in!

Also, this morning I flipped our Disney Classic Attraction Poster Calendar to August and the attraction of focus is the Monorail and features the Contemporary Resort - which I figured was pretty appropriate:

lbed_bec_udpu1.jpg

In a stunning turn of events, I actually have some trip report updates to share!

First, we got Mickey Mail! Our Magic Bands have arrived:

spao_294_udpu1.jpg

and here they are with my previously arrived passholder one:

1bcu_959_udpu1.jpg

Now I just need to figure out which one I am supposed to use :confused3

Oh, and Emma's is just a little big for her. She's looks a bit disgruntled about this - but she quickly went back to being gruntled after we took it off:

The other news is that the Be Our Guess Lunch Fastpass opened for the day we will be in Magic Kingdom and I was able to reserve a spot at the time I wanted. So, haven't been able to get dinner there yet but we loved our lunch there last trip so pretty happy with this as an alternative.

*******************************

To add in some more, I thought I would do a mini-TR for a recent day trip we took up to Rhinebeck NY which is one of our favorite small towns and features one of our absolute favorite restaurants - so figured I can include a dining report too :goodvibes

One of the other reasons we wanted to go there was to visit Waddle n Swaddle to get some stuff for Emma (new wrap, some new receiving blankets, etc.) and they have great quality here and a good staff to discuss things with - so that was our first stop:

After getting what we needed we walked to our favorite restaurant there ... which is the building on the right:

4ept_e5e_udpu1.jpg

and is called Terrapin:

They feature a ton of good food, mostly organic, have two separate areas inside (a nicer dining hall and a pub area) and a great outside area as well. And of course tons of local beers and wine.

It was a great day so we sat outside which was great as we could just wheel the stroller over. Also great as we could watch the cars go by as Olivia pointed out ever convertible and Peter pointed out excitedly every truck that went by:

8hky_be9_udpu1.jpg

I, of course, started with a flight of local beers - my favorite being the one on the left which is the Ommegang Fleur de Houblon, and I also enjoyed the one next to it which is the Rushing Duck Beanhead Coffee Porter.

note: Olivia tends to want to photobomb my beer pictures

Judi got a glass of rose from Tousey Winery which is one of our favorite newer NY wineries (Sorry, no picture, I was a pretty bad DISer with this meal)

They have great kids meals here with lots of variety and really good quality food. The portions are big too so we got the kids fish sticks for them to split (Olivia had already taken one off the plate before I got the picture):

Emma pretty much slept through the meal:

One of the main reasons we like coming here is because they have the best. wings. ever. They use free range chickens and have homemade blue cheese sauce that you could put on an old shoe and it would taste good. As since it happened to be national wings day - we got two orders of them!

a8q7_920_udpu1.jpg

We also got some Oyster shooters since, well, Judi wasn't able to have oysters while pregnant - these were pretty good and definitely an easy way to eat them:

bs80_7ef_udpu1.jpg

For a second round of food we ordered some duck confit lettuce cups as well as some Chile-Crusted Ahi Tuna .... but I apparently took no pictures of this. Both were quite good - though there was almost a bit too much chile crust to the chile-crusted tuna.

After lunch we went to a local park to let the kids run around a bit and they had a lot of fun:

Which Emma again mostly slept through:

1qyy_93d_udpu1.jpg

Then we headed back to town to get some gelato for dessert:

All in all it was a fun family day though a little tiring. We took yesterday kinda easy - and tonight I am taking Olivia and Peter to the Mets game ... we shall see how that goes

You're going to Disney this month! Exciting!

And what a good idea to put the year on your MBs! I feel stupid for not thinking of that.

Sounds like you had a fabulous day trip!

Coming from someone who gave birth to three bald headed babies, Emma has quite the head of hair!

I find it surprising that the under three's, who are free, still require a magic band. Kind of a waste of money, don't you think?

Happy to hear everything is falling in place and you were able to get your BOG adr. Your trip will be here before you know it!

Waddle n Swaddle! Cute name for a baby store! I love those quaint little towns. Glad you had a nice day out.
