Best 'deals' for concierge cabins?

So many questions. We just got off the Wish on B2B- had a larger family verandah stateroom the first sailing and a smaller verandah on second sailing. Bathrooms seemed the same size. This was our 5th/6th sailing after a 10 year hiatus. Pleased to say all 7 loved it and for 4 of us it was a return to sailing after a major medical emergency on our last sailing (different cruise line) that left us all with a good bit of trauma- this cruise helped repair some bad memories.

But I'm not sure I can suffer these tiny bathrooms- clunked my head 2-3x- stubbed foot on step up into the bathrooms- I'm just over 5'8"- but most our family are over 6' and interestingly, one is 6'5" and on the larger stateroom he clunked his head (6th floor- midship) but on the smaller stateroom on deck 9- his head cleared the ceiling drop down.

I've only ever seen a Concierge room on the Fantasy- friends showed us around. Are they more spacious and bathrooms are level with floor?

The placeholder offer said only available for categories 4-11- so assumed that excluded Concierge.

Do they ever offer specials? Is it best to book once sailings are announced? If our children book a verandah- is it easy for them to hang out with us? Next cruise- we'll have a 3 year old and 9 month old- hoping we can have a cabin with extra space to help sit the littles while mom and dad enjoy trivia or other events.

Thanks for any tips! We are wanting to book Southern Caribbean or Alaska in fall 2026.

The concierge bathrooms are going to be the same size in the concierge veranda rooms - you would need to upgrade to a one bedroom and honestly going to the fitness center to shower instead might be a better alternative.

Concierge is cheapest to book when bookings first open and you cannot apply a placeholder for a 10% discount. The other opportunity to get concierge for cheaper is to hope for an upgrade availability at port but you are missing out on some of the other big concierge perks like prebooking cabanas

You are correct that the onboard-booking discount does not apply to concierge staterooms. Most other discounts do not apply to Concierge rooms either. As dreamer17555 said, your best bet for the lowest fare is booking as soon as bookings for a cruise open, before rooms fill up. However, be aware that Concierge deposits are non-refundable, even if you move them to a lower stateroom class.

I have never been in a Concierge Veranda Stateroom, but since some of those on the older ships were converted from Deluxe Family Oceanview (Category 4) to have nicer furnishing (and Concierge host and lounge access) I do not think their bathrooms are significantly larger than Category 4.

One-bedroom staterooms do have much larger bathrooms in the main bedroom, but are also much more expensive.

Adults showering in the fitness center would address the “fitting in the bathroom” issue at no additional cost.

If you are sailing with people who are not Concierge, they are welcome to join you in your stateroom, but are not allowed in the Concierge lounge.

That’s correct. The bathrooms are the same. The larger family stateroom has the extra space in the “living room” area — the difference is basically the size of a twin bed.

Concierge verandah staterooms will be the same. Upgrading to a 1-bedroom concierge would be more space though I’m not sure about the bathroom. As PP mentioned, many guests opt to use the fitness area showers.

Thank you! Since all of our kids are grown now- we appreciate having to pay fares for just the two of us. The port upgrade would be doable for Alaska- we tried 4x a day to snag a cabana for the last two cruises- adult cabanas opened up- but no family ones. I wonder how likely it is for any Alaskan concierge to be available to upgrade at port- we are trying to sail early fall. Some of those cruises are already open to book.
Does anyone know if we can book concierge with award points on Capitol One or Sapphire/AmEx? We have saved a lot of award points and thought we could pay 1/2 with points and 1/2 with card. Just haven't looked it up

I would guess handicapped cabins would have tall showers? Not sure if you could ask for one at the Port if no one else needed it.

The only sure way to save some money on a concierge room is to book it via Costco Travel. You'll get about 10% cashback. And book the room as soon as itinerary is released. It will be the cheapest it's going to be.

A riskier strategy if you want a 1-bedroom is to book a regular concierge then upgrade at port.
