Wait, weren't you just at Disney World? An August '14 Pre-Trip Report *updated 8/24*

How exciting to be in the same month as your trip! We have 35 days to go until ours - sometimes it feels like forever, and sometimes I think it's going to be here in no time!

Great mini-TR - looks like a great day!

Terrapin is a really nice space, I like it! It all look delicious too.

I think I'm going to have to get me a Classic Attractions calendar, it'd be good for countdowns!

And don't worry, I'm sure Emma will grow into her band. HAHA.

You're going to Disney this month! Exciting!

And what a good idea to put the year on your MBs! I feel stupid for not thinking of that.

Sounds like you had a fabulous day trip!

I know - I kinda can't believe it is here!

I kinda thought to put the years last minute - but after already having 2 and seeing some people with like 10 I figured telling them apart would be good.

Oh, and Judi said I was supposed to tell everyone that I messed up and she was supposed to get the orange and Emma the yellow ... so um, my bad

Coming from someone who gave birth to three bald headed babies, Emma has quite the head of hair!

I find it surprising that the under three's, who are free, still require a magic band. Kind of a waste of money, don't you think?

Happy to hear everything is falling in place and you were able to get your BOG adr. Your trip will be here before you know it!

Waddle n Swaddle! Cute name for a baby store! I love those quaint little towns. Glad you had a nice day out.

All of our kids had some hair - but Emma definitely has more and also darker colored hair than the others

Yeah, it is kinda weird that they get the bands - but they don't need FP+ or anything so not sure what we do with them :confused3

Glad to get the lunch FP for BOG - still haven't been able to get a dinner one but thinking now will save that for a future trip.

It's a great store and my wife loves it so worth the trip.

I feel the same way - in some ways feels so far off and then in others it's like, wait? only 3 weekends in between when we leave?!?!?

Thanks! We had a fun day!

and I didn't even do a good job of showing off the food - it is all really good and they do wine pairing dinners and stuff ... really a great place

The calendar would make for a good countdown! To be honest I love the pictures/posters but the calendar isn't really useful as a calendar - but definitely would work as a countdown!

Someday .... funny to think that she will grow up thinking that magic bands were always around whereas it is such a new and big change for all of us

Wow, trip month already! :cool1:

As far as the Magic Bands:

1.) You should be able to use any of yours. As long as you go into your MDE account and make sure they all say they are active, they should be good, to my understanding. I used my Dec. '13 band on the June '14 trip and now I am getting two more (AP & August resort), so I will be able to pick whichever color I feel like each day, I guess. :rotfl:

2.) For Emma's, you should be able to peel the colored section off of the black part and that smaller band should fit her a bit better. That's what we did with Izzy's. And FYI - it will work at a FP+ kiosk, unless something has changed. :rotfl:

Glad you scored a BOG lunch reservation! :cheer2:

Looks like a fun day trip! And I'm impressed that you are able to do that with 3 kids, one of which is a newborn. Good Disney practice! I'm not a beer drinker, but that sure is a pretty-looking beer flight! Food looks good too.

Gelato is always a perfect ending to the day!!

Yay for August! It's always exciting when " THE" month of your trip arrives!!

Waddle & Swaddle!! That is too cute for words!!

That's great you got BOG! I tried and couldn't get it but hoping to get it in Feb!

Your lunch and day out sounds amazing! Always nice to have a little family day!!

Thanks for the info on magic bands - I actually just checked to ensure both mine were active and it actually says at the top: "All your MagicBands and cards can be used interchangeably as long as they're active." ... so guess I should actually look for answers first :rotfl:

Wasn't really sure what the point of MB for those that don't need entry tickets ... but we can use them at FP+ kiosks and get more FP+? This whole thing seems way more confusing than it needs to be :rotfl2:

Didn't really think of it as good practice for Disney but I guess it is! Had some more practice last night as I took both Olivia and Peter by myself to the Mets game (figure this scenario might come up if Judi stays behind with Emma at times int he room). It went better than expected - though getting food was tough as that would leave me with less free hands - other than that they did great!

The kids enjoyed Cotton Candy ... while I opted for Bacon on a Stick! :thumbsup2

I know - it's funny that it is obviously just one day different from July 21st - but hitting August was like - whoa, it's really coming!

The store is really great - I like that it has tons of like organic stuff but isn't stuffy like I find some of those places can be (if that makes sense)

Yeah, glad I at least got lunch at BOG ... some day we will get dinner - gotta get a beer or wine in Magic Kingdom sometime!

it was a fun day ... plus gotta do some things just to keep the kids busy

Yeah, I think the Magic Bands for Babies are unnecessary, but I liked having one for Izzy because she wanted to wear one just like Mommy and Daddy. She even tried to scan it a few times. Emma is probably too young to care, but it's a nice souvenir, I guess. And I'm sure they're not intended to work for FP+, but until the loophole is closed, they could score you an extra - but someone else will have to wear Emma's band. :rotfl:

Looks like fun at the ball game! That would be tough to manage everything with two kids - I have a hard enough time doing everything with one!

I love how excited Olivia is to be a big sister!!! Totally melts my heart. And that going-home outfit is the best ever!! So precious.

I wish I had thought to do a dining review when I was in the hospital. Haha. What a nice thing for them to do!

Glad to hear that Emma went back to being gruntled. LOL. Words like that totally make me laugh.

Just cathing up here and I have to say those pictures of Emma are sooooo precious!!! Only a few day old and she is smilling! I find that amazing!

I just love the girls room! I secretly would not mind having a room, like that even as an adult.

I just had dinner but looking at that bacon on a stick is making my mouth water. YUM!

You're getting so close now! And you got the BOG FP? Score.

That does sound like a fun family day and the food looks delicious. Why does your PTR frequently make me hungry? Geez Phil. I don't always have food like that within reach and then everything else seems no good. Like, if I can't have chicken wings now, why even bother?

And a ball game? Olivia and Peter are getting the All American summer :p

Bacon on a stick? What? My mind has been blown (and now I want bacon, which we have none of - thanks again).

That's a good point about kids not wanting to get left out. Like, Emma won't know better but I am sure Peter would be mighty upset if he didn't get one.

Well, if we can use Peter's and Emma's to get more FP+ from the kiosks maybe Olivia and I can get on TT if the Rider Swap loop hole has, in fact, been closed.

Fortunately the kids really behaved. Actually as we were leaving the woman next to us commented that I have really well behaved kids - which obviously made me feel good - but also fortunate that they were behaving. Actually, they tend to behave better out in public than at home :confused3

Thanks Sue! She is so excited but we often have to get her to calm down .... level "5-year-old-excited" can be too much for a 1 week old :rotfl:

Hey, gotta make things feel as much like a trip report as I can - dining reviews, random Disney references, photos of parades, etc. ;)

I know - I love words like that too :goodvibes

aw, thank you! To be fair, I think the smiling was just from gas or making faces or something - it takes a little longer until they are able to smile on purpose.

Obviously Olivia loves it - though I think it would be a bit much for my bedroom ... I do thinking having like a den or some "extra" room that could be an over the top Disney room would be cool :thumbsup2

That bacon was pretty good darn good! It was dipped in this sweet and spice sauce and was thick and ... yeah, getting hungry now ;)

I know - we are definitely getting close ... I think all of a sudden it will like be here and we will realize we aren't ready - but hey, what's a trip without some drama (we enjoy going to that drama place ;) )

haha - well, guess by photo skills are getting better ... gotta leave the audience wanting to eat more, that's the expression right?

We usually try to get to a handful of games a year (I used to have partial season tickets but just got too hard with the kids) but this was actually our first game this year. Olivia really, really loved it so may try to go to another one (maybe with just here) later this year

I'm sure you can find some Bacon somewhere there - at least Canadia Bacon ;)

Congrats on getting the BOG FP!

Cute photobomb by Olivia :) Sounds like a great day!

Love the pics from the Mets game as well!

Thanks Alexis - I do feel it was a bit more of a system vs. checking like every day - but glad to have that set as we really enjoyed lunch at BOG our last trip ... and this time we can enjoy not waiting on line

She seriously loves photobombing pictures I take of beer ... yet she hates even the smell of beer. Peter on the other hand ....

Thanks - we really had fun - especially Olivia who wanted to stay for the whole game and wants to go back. Hoping to maybe go back with just her in September once Judi is a little more healed

I thought I responded but don't see it now??

I mentioned in my TR but could have PM'd you too lol. I have a screen shot of a FP I attempted to book (the 3rd I booked) for BoG at 11:40 so we should be able to enter all together around our planned time 11:45. Still none are showing up in the home screen of the BoG website.

Anyway, what a fun family outing, love that you are putting Emma through a little disney practice (actually it's more like putting the other 4 family members through it, Emma doesn't have to do much!). The photo bombing beer pics is too funny!

Not sure what happened :confused3

I know we had some PM exchanges about the BOG FP but not sure if I saw about your third attempt ... but that is good that the time work and you got a screen shot - from what I have read that seems to work about 99% of the time. Still not sure why it isn't showing up for you :confused3

Yeah, we are definitely trying to get some outings in to see how she does and just how to manage everyone. I think Peter will be the challenge as Olivia is old enough to listen pretty well and Emma can't really move on her own - though we will likely have to show some flexibility in plans base on her needs.

Contemplating using a "lease" backpack with Peter just to keep him from running off too much

Hi, Phil. Back from Vegas and slowly catching up.

:yay::yay::yay: for MB's arriving.

What a lovely day adventure for all of you. Lunch looks quite yummy.

I'm glad you survived the game with the two older ones. I would guess that getting food at the park would be the hardest if it is just the three of you.

Welcome back Kathy - I hope you enjoyed your trip!

Yeah, survive is a good word - though they were both really good. Better than I was expecting to be honest. Getting the food was the hardest part - so we only did that once and then we got some Cotton Candy from one of the sales people that come through the stands.
