Yeah, we're going to HH. I've always wanted to go and we amazingly enough got ressie's tonight!!
So dh keeps telling me there must be a restaurant on-site for dinner. I think not. Tell me about the food options on-site. I'm sure i've seen that they have counter service or something for breakfast and lunch. Didn't think they offered dinner hours though... We'll be there 4/9-4/14 (if the dates matter at all!)
We will be leaving on the day you arrive. I can't wait to get back there and now I'm thinking of going home? Wahh!
On site...no restaurant...just a take out window, at the main part of the resort and a small sit down cafe at the beach house. The take out window is Tide Me Over and it has staples such as hamburger and fries, hotdog and fries, good onion rings, chicken sandwich, fish and chips. Breakfast is bagel and egg sandwiches, french toast, hashbrowns, biscuits and biscuit and egg sandwiches. They have soft drinks and lemonade, coffee, hot chocolate, iced tea. Next door to Tide Me Over is the gift shop with ice cream cooler, drinks cooler(including beers) and a few basic groceries like coffee and filters, cookies, bread, and a few cold groceries like lunch meats and butter, bacon, cream cheese, milk.
At the beach house they have Signals, which is another counter style operation with a similar menu, but also 5 or 6 tables for sitting inside as well as tables outside.
Both places have refillable mugs for 10-11$. The food is tasty.
The best food option is to book "A Private Affair' with Chef Gordon, if you are looking for something special. After Signals closes, Chef Gordon creates a dining experience for you and your guests. I can't wait to do this as I've heard nothing but great things about the whole experience.
Otherwise Hilton Head itself has numerous places to dine. The resort places a list in your packet and some (listed in the packet) will give you a discount if you show your
DVC card. There are places within walking distance, but I've only tried one of those, the Mexican restaurant in Shelter Cove, and I found that food bland (I like mexican food). I've always had a car, so I've driven to wherever I've gone to eat. There is also the Piggly Wiggly, just before you arrive at the resort, if you choose to cook dinner, or need a few snacks.
I know you will love visiting 'my' favorite resort!
