Virtual Magic Kingdom Game (Beta Launch)

I cannot even get an account set up.

This irks me... I am not computer ignorant ....

I know my email address, Name, birthdate and a password.

I do not get any error messages.... the screen just refreshes...

All of my info is just there..... Anyone else have this issue :confused3
 
They must have been having some troubles tonight. I was kicked out a good 5 times tonight between the hours of 10pm and 1am. VERY ANNOYING!!

Even when I went to my room to put my water tank back in its place I would get the error box, tried to do that 3 times. Just keep shuting down!

Then when I would try to play Fireworks, it would just kick me out, I was never able to play. But that has been happening to be alot. I think I have only been able to play that game twice. And even then I would get kicked out of the game before the second level would start.

Then during the Jungle Cruise, my boat would be moving along...but no animal. Not even the little puff of clouds to show you where they were suppost to be. But at least I got the 20 points for "playing."

Yes, it was a very bad night on VMK. :(

Would it be possible to remove the ropes from the lobby/shared room, or at least make the entrance wider? Last night, I tried to get in, but there was a character blocking the entrance. Her character was there, but she clearly wasn't. Many people stopped by, but couldn't enter the room, and the site owner was not there to boot her.

Otherwise, I like this idea. I have nothing going on in my rooms, so I like the idea of volunteering for this cause.

I haven't had that particular problem, but VMK is definitely buggy. Whenever I get an error that repeats itself, I simply restart my machine, and then everything works fine, for a while. If you haven't tried rebooting, I would give it a shot.

I think I was there too when that one character wouldn't move, and then later I tried again but the ropes were up so I couldn't get into the room to go into the teleporters.

I didn't have anyone on my friends list that was on at the time to go into their room to teleport to the lobby, so I was out of luck!

Once I get enough credits I can teleport through my own room...but im about 225 short right now, I should get them tonight when I play some games and click on the characters (Yenti, Ned etc..)
 
I hadmore problems last night with VMK than I have ever had. A few times it booted me out.
But 3 - 4 times I had residual screen pop ups that would not go away without me closing out VMK and re-entering.
I was hung up a few times in the pirates game and just had to leave on my own.
And at first VMK was very choppy and slow.

Hi all, back again.

Last night was a bit of a zoo in the "lobby" room. I'm sure that when the "intrigue" factor dies down, it should be easier to get around.

Some observations:

- original idea was to have just 1 room (the "Club House" so to speak, currently donated by DoomCookie) for us to have a place to hang out. All the coffin teleporters were originally supposed to just be a MEANS to GET to the Club House via the Lobby.

- however, both us Dis folks and the VMK community at large seem to find it really interesting to use the coffin teleporters to check out everyone's rooms :) which is kind of neat

- the Lobby was meant to just be a hub to get to the hangout room; it wasn't meant for large gatherings. When a large number of people were in the Lobby last night, it prevented people from entering it, which defeated the purpose of using it to get to our hangout room

I've already mentioned before that my preference was to keep things as open access as possible to everyone (Dis or non-Dis). On the other hand, it's fun to be able to know there's a place where I might be able to find Dis folks.

What would people prefer? A real lock-down, so that only Dis people have personal teleporters into an otherwise completely locked down Lobby, so it won't get crowded? (I'd sort of rather not -- I have non-Dis "friends" on VMK too.)

A completely open Lobby, at the risk of getting the Lobby mobbed and un-enterable? (This might improve once there are so many coffins in the room that it's no longer a pleasant place to stay and people will be vacating the room more quickly.)

I think the "other ends" of the teleporters from the Lobby belong to you all, so it's completely your choice how much you want to rope it off. DoomCookie roped off the "official" club hangout room so that entry was only by teleporter (not by "go to" via the Room menus), which made it more usable as a Dis-only hangout room.

Also, although the original idea was a Dis network of rooms, what if a non-Dis "friend" of mine on VMK asks to place a teleporter in the Lobby? Would you all like me to turn them down? Or can I just place teleporters in to all nice people who ask me?

Does anyone else wish there were a compact teleporter that was NOT a coffin, so they wouldn't keep on feeling the urge to cackle "I vant to suck your bloo-ooood", or flee sunlight and garlic?

I think I know who you are talking about, and alot of us had the same problem...sending us messages and not letting you leave their room once you stopped in. I took her off my list already.

I certainly don't mind if there are non Disers present, there will be im sure because when alot of us get into the rooms they are going to pop up as being popular.

I think it can be up to the room owners discretion on if they want to rope off the main entrance and just let people go through the teleporter, but then of course those that might be following another DISer via the friends list will end up in the roped off section and not able to get in unless the owner removes the rope for them.

Ohh such things I have to worry about, I wish all my problems were like this...lol

Great minds think alike :) In my original way-too-long to read detailed post describing the setup, I did mention:
- if we need more common rooms in the future, we could use the other non-coffin teleporters to link to additional common rooms

- if we need more lobby space for more personal teleporters, we could create more lobby rooms, and then link together the lobby rooms. Perhaps each lobby room could link to a different common room.
My thought was to use the Lobby room(s) as "hubs" that linked to "Hangout Rooms" and personal rooms. My personal preference would be to NOT have hangout rooms have more teleporters, because these "chains" of rooms will be harder to navigate; of course, the owner of the room can do whatever they want.

I'd like to fill up the current lobby with personal coffins first (that really sounds disturbing); this should minimize people hanging out in the lobby to chat, because there will be no room to sit or gather. Also, a more concentrated hub will be more efficient. When the lobby is filled, we'll choose a specific teleporter type (boat perhaps) that will link to another lobby room.

If the primary hangout room ends up filling up too often, we'll add another teacup that will link to hangout room number two, probably from lobby room two.

How's that sound?

My first day off for the summer and kids still in school.....I PLANNED ON HANGING OUT this morning.


I cry.

I mean this is upsetting - LOL.

Any clue as to why - its say 20 hours to opening

I just read on another board that it was open for a little while and then closed. Now there only about 20 people in there!?
