Valentines, Vixens and Vodka!! 7/5/2021 COMPLETE! NEW TRIP REPORT LINK ADDED!

Tonight, Ariane made dining reservations for our group of 6 at Jaleo. We enjoyed it so much back in September that we were all itching to get back...We waited a bit for a bus and good thing the bus stops at CSR are covered because it was pouring. Eventually, a bus showed up and by the time we got to DS, the rain had stopped. Yay!

We had a little time before our table was ready so we popped over to Splitsville for a couple of cocktails. At this point, I have no idea what everyone ordered but I think we all enjoyed our beverages. Some of us may have ordered more than one. 😁 We were able to get a table outside and there was an awesome band playing, so we all hung out, reminisced about our dirty pasts (teenage antics), and concerts we enjoyed as kids, lol! Yes, most of us loved and still love Kiss, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, and Alice Cooper.

After our cocktails, we walked over to the restaurant and were seated out on the back patio in what felt like a private dining experience, which was fantastic. The plates are served tapas-style here, not knowing what item will come out when. The sangria, however, comes out in a pitcher (in our case 2 of them). We all enjoyed our shared meals and the drinks were flowing, which in our case is always a good thing. We talked and laughed so much. I remember some of the conversations revolved around the 3 little Pigs and phone sex...Don't ask...I don't know how we got there and don't remember much about those conversations at this point, lol!

It was such a good night. We laughed, ate, drank a lot, and had lots of great conversations. But, this wouldn't be our last meal together...

I also didn't manage to get any food pica but took lots of drink pics, lol!

Next up...Joe and I have breakfast at an old favorite...

Headed with my partner to Disney for a few days for our first real Covid-era getaway and seeing all the fun you had on this trip is making me SO excited. It'll be our first time there during an Epcot festival so planning on ending both of our park days with Epcot time primarily for eating and drinking. I know it was a differnet festival when you went but helpful to see what it's like.

I think I would have been excited about croutons in my Bloody Mary!!! But then again there's nothing worse than a bad Bloody Mary 🤢 so clearly not worth the risk!

The problem with this Bloody Mary was that it wasn't as chilled as I like it too. The Refreshment Depot usually has the BEST Bloody Mary's but not a one this time...

Happy Sunday Friends!

Just wanted to take a moment to share that last weekend was Joe's birthday and we went back to the Herrington Inn to spend the night and to try out a newer dining experience. It's called The Loft and it's located in a tucked-away corner of the resort, upstairs from the restaurant, Atwaters. It's a private dining experience that was super romantic, and just simply perfect if I'm giving an honest review. AND, the best part, is that there's no additional charge to book this fantastic experience. I am linking the dining experience and room tour for anyone who may be interested. The Herrington Inn is located in Geneva, Illinois.

It is so fun and funny to see this! We were married at the Herrington in 2007 and now live far away in SC so never make it back, Such a lovely place.

So fun! I've heard Splittsville has great sushi too. Your cocktails look so good. We had exact opposite musical tastes as teenagers (and adults)...I am a die hard new wave fan. Depeche Mode, The Cure, OMD, Simple Minds, Howard Jones etc etc.

Nothing better than fun conversation with friends and laughing so much that your face hurts!

Perfect! :goodvibes

Happy Birthday again to Joe! Looks like you all had a fabulous weekend.

Between your report and Ariane's you all have my jonseing for some Jaleo. We have 3 in the area and I may have looked to uber eats some to the house on more than one occasion. But Jason doesn't think it will travel well so combined with a crazy fee we haven't had any in well over a year. Hoping with some warmer weather we can eat out on their patio soon.

YUCK warm Bloody Mary's....gotta have a lot of ice to keep it cold in the Florida sun
Yes! They need to be chilled.

It's one of our favorite spots!!!!

LOVE Depeche Mode too and have seen them in concert a couple of times. LOVE, love, love the song Blasphemous Rumors.

This sounds like a normal - pre-Covid - experience. I have missed live music.
It was aweome, I have to say.

Looks like a fun time at FArts! I would love to watch Trevor paint to music, very cool!
Jaleo sounds awesome, on my list for one day
We really fell in love with Jaleo, so many amazing options.

Happy Birthday again to Joe! Looks like you all had a fabulous weekend.
We did. Thank you my friend.

I agree. I don't think it would travel well. So lucky you have 3 close to you. We only get our fix when in Disney. ☹

One of my favourites too! I have seen DM in concert twice and they put on a great show! We saw OMD in September of 2019 and they were AMAZING! I can't wait for concerts again. :)
You and I liked a lot of the same 80s bands. I’ve seen Simple Minds and Howard Jones. Really wanted to see OMD but they were on a week after Human League and I couldn’t afford to do both. Things were constantly getting bombed here and bands often either wouldn’t come or cancelled so I wasn’t taking any chances and went to the Human League concert while everything and everyone were still standing 😱😜

Did you regret not splitting a No Way Jose at Beaches and Cream?

Your room at the Herrington looked really nice. I thought that sitting on the balcony and watching the Fox River flow past would be great in warm weather. But then you mentioned the geese and that kind of ruined it. :)

And your Tink looks better than another Tink I recently saw on another report... :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
HEY!!!!
you are 100% correct lol

I had just a vague recollection and was too lazy to look them all up but I do agree we all liked them. And yes some of us did order more than one lol

This was such a nice unexpected treat!

Jen it sounds like you all had a brilliant night’s craic. Cocktails, small plates, sangria and conversations about fairy tales and phone sex sounds like the perfect mix. 🤣🤣🤣
Fabulous!
It definitely was a good night.

Not at all. We had that back in September, so the Coke float was just fine (just a little boring).

Those geese honked ALL night long, lol!!!!

And yes some of us did order more than one lol
LOL! Hey, it was a celebration and perfectly warranted.

This was such a nice unexpected treat!
Yes it was. It was so private!!!

Now I know how to pronounce Jaleo. :) The food sounds delicious. I love the idea of sharing small plates. I think that is why I like the festival food booths.
