again....
I am ok with not vaccinating...
I am ok with not vaccinating...
so even in the middle of an epidemc where children in your child's school, at your church, were being crippiled by polio, you would take your chances with the disease reather than take the vaccine?again....

I think its strange when polio and small pox are referenced when both were on a very steady decline long before the vaccine came out. When the vaccine was introduced, both diseases actually had a increase in deaths before the continuing decline. A major increase in living condition and health care (not vaccines, but treatments for the symptoms from the illness) were happening over those years.
Also many people believe that polio still exists, just is named different things when diagnosed. (just to throw that out there but that I haven't really researched to extent) Ok... Bring on the comments![]()

when the last case of polio found in the U.S. and how did it happen?
This is from WHO and I think it is worth noting
"As long as a single child remains infected, children in all countries are at risk of contracting polio. In 2009-2010, 23 previously polio-free countries were re-infected due to imports of the virus. "
There are still 4 countries that remain endemic for Polio one of which is India.
So if you were traveling and living in India you still would not vaccinate your children.
that is irrelevant to the discussion. It hasn't happened because herd immunity prevents that. Are you willing to answer the question or nto? If your child was at risk for catching polio would you still choose not to vaccinate?when the last case of polio found in the U.S. and how did it happen?
wow..did you seriously just ask me that??![]()

Wow I really am speechless!!!!
Have you ever read anything of the polio epidemic of the 50's? I can't believe you are saying what you are saying. You have never experienced the fear that gripped the nation of Mothers afraid that everyday their child went to school could be their last normal day on earth. Mothers who were willing to allow their children to be guinea pigs in vaccine trials because without it the outlook was so grim. There was no cure. My Mother to the day she died remembered the fear and how panicked she was when she took my sister off the toilet and stood her down and she collapsed on the floor, she was sure she had polio! luckily it wasn't. I lived outside of Pittsburgh and we got the vaccine as soon as it was available, very early in it's release.
When was this decline? The summer before the vaccine no one went anywhere with a crowd, no pools were open, it certainly wasn't in decline!!!
I guess you have never known anyone living with the leftover residual problems from polio?
Yes polio still exists no one said it didn't, but it isn't a threat here thanks to most people are smart and immunize against it, if enough stop then it will come back.
Small pox would never have been eradicated with this current generation of parents.
I'm sorry but parents that think like you scare me very much and make me fear for the children of the future.
Also many people believe that polio still exists, just is named different things when diagnosed.
Many people also believe the earth is flat.[/QUOT

So again, you are saying that if there was an epidemic of any one for these deadly diseases today, where you live, your child would still not recieve a vaccination?Polio mortality rate WAS high in the early 1950's, but by 1955 when the vaccination was introduced, it had already dramatically decreased. Its not hard to look up that information. No I do not know anyone that has been effected by polio, but this does not take away from the seriousness of the disease and its effects. I cant imagine. Nor can I imagine loosing my child to any other disease, God forbid. It does not change my mind on the vaccination. Im sorry of your personal experience, and the horror your Mother must have faced.
Confirmation of what we already knew. Study linking vaccines to autism proven to be a fraud. The doctors involved altered the medical histories of the patients in the study. It has bee retracted by the journal that published it.

So again, you are saying that if there was an epidemic of any one for these deadly diseases today, where you live, your child would still not recieve a vaccination?
No. My child would not receive a vaccination. If there was a outbreak, taking my child to the infected doctors office would be last thing on my list of things to do.![]()
Confirmation on what who already know. I don't think msnbc would be considerd a reliable source by any educated persons standard. There is a lot of good information out there on vaccines. If you choose to do the research. Instead of blindly relying on msnbc for your education. The sheep continue to be dubed by the mainstream media.
So how would you prevent your child from catching it? You are fine with your child catching a deadly disease.
Again easy to say now.
