Vacation help? advice needed

Can I pick your collective Brains? I am going to the Boardwalk this December using this years points. I will activate my AP's on this trip. I had planned on booking for 05 in October for the Halloween festivities. (pretty low points, hopefully not to hot) I thought I had it all set. Not soooooo.
I just got a call from my cousins. They each get 150 points as a Christmas gift from thier parents. So they will after Christmas book for next summer. Heres the issue. 4 familys will be traveling together next August. They want us to join them. But they won't book till after Christmas the prospect of booking less than 11 months out is making me sweat

Do I forgoe my plans in favor of a cousins get together? And book at my 11 months window, When they are not even sure of thier dates yet? I am sooo confused. It would be the 15th of September I would have to start booking.

go ahead and book your trip for Oct - then when your cousins have decided to book their vacations - you can decide then if you want to change to their time.

you know how hot WDW is in the summer.

Spring will be very nice next year - because Easter and all the crowds that go with it are in March not April.

So I would think April or May will be very pleasant next year

You don't say the ages of your children and if they have ever been to MNSSHP. Halloween at WDW is not to be missed!!!! I would try to talk your cousins into Halloween~ print out the info about the party and talk it up. Its the best party and the weather that time of year is awesome!!!

If I wait till November to book next October and then decide to join everyone, Do you think August will be booked solid? At 7 mts out....
I just got off the phone with one of then who says she is out for Summer it's to hot for her son. And she would like to go with me in October so maybe we will split the group. Unfortuneatly August was chosen as one is a school teacher.

Spiceycat, I do know how hot August is. We just came back after 5 days in Universal. And in 5 days My little ones did no more than, Shrek, Jaws, earthquake, Seuss landing and posedian. That is it in 5 days all they wanted to do was swim in the pool!
