I'm flying on US airways in 9 days. I'm flying from Harrisburg PA to New Orleans with my 9 mo son on my lap. According to the website I can take either a car seat or stroller. Anyone know if they are strict on that? If I take a travel system does it count at 2 things?

You should be fine with the travel system. Are you planning on using the car seat part in the plane? If so, make sure its approved for airplane use.

The stroller part will be gate checked (no charge - you'll get a yellow tag for it and you'll need to leave it at the end of the jetway).

She doesn't have a paid seat for the child. I would plan on checking the seat.

Here's a tip: when I flew with my infant car seat I brought a large plastic leaf bag with me. Before boarding I wrapped it around the car seat, tying the ends together under the handle (so it would be easy for the ground crew to pick it up). I also attached the gate check tag to the handle where it would show. It kept the seat clean while it was stored. Afterwards, it was easy fold the bag up flat and keep it it until the next set of flights on the trip. HTH
