But of course we went trick or treating! We went to quite a few houses in the neighborhood, but the kids wanted to quit sooner than I expected. Last year DS3 (who I guess was only 2yo) quit after about 10 houses, so I took him home early, then continued with DS7. This year it was DS7 who wanted to quit, and I started to try to convince him to continue on because we were having such a good time. But then the mom in me went: What on earth are you doing? He has school in the morning, and it's not like he's going to get to eat all the candy he already has anyway...! :rotfl:

So we went home. The kids had cookies and milk, DH, great-grandma and I had some tea to warm up. It was a cold night!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: its that multiple mom personality that comes out in all of us!

That's cool :) My little sister went trick or treating. Did you see my Stitch picture? I wore it to work and my co-worker dressed up like a terrorist and freaked out the neighbors. :rotfl2:

OMG, that's funny! Of course that hits a little too close to home with DH's father being from the Middle East, so we probably wouldn't ever dare. I'd love to scare the POOP out of a few buttheads in my neighborhood, though... :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: Yes best not to go that route then!

Hey guys! I forgot to tell everyone!

I decided things were getting quite expensive since we bought the more expensive floor and all so I wanted to get a job. I have been dreading going back to work even part time and have almost done it on and off for about a year. Ok so my friend calls me who I worked with at the Disney Store about 15 years ago and says they were building one out by our house now and it would be a GREAT opportunity for a SAHM who wanted a part time job. So I think about it and decide the only way I could go back to work and actually be happy is to work with Disney again. I have worked for the Disney Co for the majority of my life from the Disney store to the parks. Of course they are not owned by Disney anymore but its still with the merchandise AND I get a discount at Disney and at the Childrens place!

So I interviewed last week. Ok I didnt interview I went to the store she looked at my application and my recommendation from my friend who is a manager at another disney store in town and just talks to me about my time working in the parks because she always wanted to do that. She said I knew I wouldnt have to interview you you were hired the minute you turned in your application and since I have so much Disney experience they are paying me the highest wage for an hourly employee at their store. I guess I'm making more than the leads are making! :yay: Not that its much but its nice!

So I'll be working the twilight shift through Christmas which means No customers and I get to stock merchandise after the store closes a few nights a week! After that I may have to switch to one morning a week or month to keep my discount if they dont need night stalkers! :lmao: I mean stockers.

So I get an easy job I know how to do, a little extra cash to pay off the floors and save for DL trips and I get to be around adults talking about Disney!:cool1:

I havent worked in years though so I'm a little nervous about being away but excited to get back to Disney stuff. Too bad its not the actual company anymore.

That's wonderful Shawna!! I heard that if you work at Disney Store you get a free AP! :confused3

Wow, that's really cool, Shawna! I really like the girls at our Disney Store, they're really friendly and helpful. A couple times before the first Disney trip I was in and just started to babble about the trip. In my head I was thinking, "Shut up! She's not going to care! She's going to think you're NUTS!" But she acted is if it were perfectly normal, and that she was excited for us, too. :rotfl:

Really? The people that work at the Disney Stores near me are FAR from nice and you can tell they aren't Disney fans. :rolleyes1

That's still cool. :thumbsup2 Uh oh, is your DH worried about your Bambi addiction? ;)

I think so. :rolleyes1

When I worked at the Disney store we would get the biggest disney fanatics in. We also had collectible nights where people would come in and spend thousands of dollars on artwork and figurines! That was back in the day when they had a watch collection there and jewelry and adult cool clothes and cells and collectables. lately everything looks generic and you can find the same toys at Target but at least its something! The manager was saying I worked during the disney store hey days!

people would talk about DL all the time and the movies all the time. We loved that part of our job. I remember after Aladdin came out a woman talked to me about how she hated Aladdin because the colors in the movie were all orange, red and yellow fiery hot colors. She liked Beauty and the Beast because of all the blues, purples and cool colors. She was very perceptive and vocal about her opinions. :rotfl:

Really? There are some younger (college age) people at our local one, but I usually go on a weekday morning and there tend to be older women (30s and up) working then.

I remember the days when the Disney beanies were so cute. Now they look kinda funky :confused3 I remember waiting in long lines outside Disney Store & Club Disney in Westlake waiting for beanies. My siblings were crazy about them too. I still have most of them, especially my Snowflake Pooh :goodvibes I used to trade beanies with people on a message board. That was fun. :goodvibes
