If the rumor were true, I can see them selling an Epic package with "free" entry to UO and IOA. I hope we don't have to physically tap into other parks to prove our commitment to Epic, lol.

I think I missed it but are these park hopper tickets or only 1 park per day? If so then that honestly stinks for USF as that's like 2 hour max park for me.

Also would have to think about whether to renew my AP or not. I knew Epic had a 99% chance of not being included with APs but this alternative is making me consider not renewing.

I already expected the cost of an Epic single-day ticket to be 2-3 times more than an UO ticket, so it doesn't matter to me if it's labeled as individual or package. Just don't make them date-based or ask me to tap into other parks in order to keep my Epic access.

I'm filing these under rumors for now. If true, I won't need to renew the AP either.
Dang, I don't think I could spend a whole day at USF. Would honestly rather have a Volcano Bay ticket instead.

Alicia is talking about this as if it's definitive info and I trust her more than most sources so I have a feeling this isn't a rumor. I get why they're doing it but ugh.

Third party ticket sellers generslly don't sell one day tickets or sell them a few dollars above gate price.

So the question will be how long will they keep this up? I wasn't going to go opening week anyway, it'll be madness lol
But maybe it's just the first few months?

Was considering it as an option for next summer but if they aren’t going to offer a more flexible admission policy, I’ll wait.

Just comes off like they’re more concerned about cannibalizing USF/IOA than actually drawing market share from their competitors

That's a very strange way to do, only because of all of the AP holders. If I have an AP, why would I buy a package with tickets for UO, IoA. That's just money down the drain on 2 days of tickets to something I have tickets for already. I do completely understand requiring a date-based ticket specifically for Epic, even if it's crazy, ridiculous expensive, and not at all sell any APs for that park for a long time, but a package ticket only is weird. Hopefully people staying at the Epic hotels will have more options, first choice at tickets, or if they do park reservations.
I'd probably consider letting my AP lapse then, and wait quite a while before going back, and my trip would be a lot shorter.
But if I didn't have an AP, this would make more sense, and I'd probably do it. I think it'll be hard to see and experience Epic in just one day.
It is going to be crazy crowded for a very long time.

It's not a joke and makes sense why they are doing it. It's a way for them to keep people at their parks for one and two it will with limiting capacity at Epic Universe.

Remember when they announced Epic Universe, they said they want to make Universal a week long vacation destination. By making you buy a 3 park ticket minimum it forces you to take at least 3 days at Universal
I'll go for a week, but I want at least 4 days in EU. limiting access to EU will definitely affect my planned attendance.

I feel like they chickened out. Just sell 7-day tickets and they give you full access to all parks and go for Disney’s jugular.

I think it is a smart move to limit attendance, interested to see what they do for single day tickets. Not that I will go anytime soon.

I would guess they will have single day tickets available for APs sooner than later, but probably not opening week.

They precisely don't want people to spend 3-4 days at EU and not go to the other parks (at least initially), so it's a good move. If someone is willing to buy 12 days of tickets & use 6, that's no problem for Universal either.

And also which - limit sales severely or create huge lines/crowds that EU can't handle?
Since when is Universal scared of lines and waiting? As recently as Hagrid‘s they were fine with people waiting 4-5hrs.

3-day tickets don’t take anything away from Disney and (I am projecting here) I shudder at the thought of 6-days at UOR.

I already have a plan in case this rings true across the board. As previously mentioned, I want 4 days at Epic but realistically I'll probably do 3. If the tickets are not date-based, I will buy 3 packages and spend the first three days of my trip at Epic, followed by one or two days at UO/IOA (most likely one), and the rest of the time at WDW since my AP would still be active there. It would be a dream to spend 6 days at UO/IOA if I were 30 years younger. But alas one has to accept reality.
