Lightning Lane Question

My mom and one of her friends are going to be coming down for 4 nights at a different Disney resort as us. If we are linked as friends on the app will I be able to buy lightning lanes for all of us or do they need to do their own?

As long as you are all linked as friends and family, one person can buy for all.

Will they be at their resort during your exact dates or just overlapping your stay? For example you can't book LL for them based on your resort stay but only for the 7 day before arrival for their resort stay.

That will work just fine. You will be able to book their 2 park days 7 days before they arrive. You will also be able to include them in your travel group when you purchase your LLMP and/or LLSP selections for any time that they may be visiting the parks with you during their resort stay, and even on their check out day.

You will also be able to verify everything is setup correctly by attempting to purchase LLMP for everyone for example at the 10 day before arrive date in MDE, and it should provide a date when each guest is eligible to purchase LL selections.
