Since when is Universal scared of lines and waiting? As recently as Hagrid‘s they were fine with people waiting 4-5hrs.

3-day tickets don’t take anything away from Disney and (I am projecting here) I shudder at the thought of 6-days at UOR.
I think they are concerned about not having a bad opening due to crazy crowds. When Hagrid’s opened there were 10 hours lines and both Wizarding World’s opened to bad press because of the mess of crowds. If Universal is finally learning their lesson, they will want to make sure the opening is successful. And these ticket limitations will probably be temporary until the park has been opened awhile and things are running smoothly. Universal is playing the long game, there is plenty of time to take Disney’s market share away.

As some pointed out already, this isn't a joke persay.. But not the whole story either. This came from just third party resellers.

Is it impossible to enjoy both parks without the competition? Surely there are some overlapping, but overall their guest demographics are different.
Not impossible at all! And I love both Disney and Universal. I wasn’t rooting for one over the other. But from a business standpoint, they are definitely competitors and see each other as such even if their executives don’t publicly admit that. Fortunately, we guests will be the winners with all the new stuff!

Rising rides lift all boats

I don't personally like it, but I understand why they're doing it, it makes A LOT of sense from Universal perspective.
I bet AP will be the only one allowed to buy single day tickets for EU, and only in a very limited manner, for example one a month/quarter max and with limited daily availability.
Helios hotel guests might be able to enter EU daily and that alone would be a big perk (there will be no EP included).

Wondering what will UK residents tickets include. They currently include 14 days at the parks, if that comes out to be 3 or 4 days at EU it'll be the way to go for me (or even if it's 2).

All speculations on my part, I have no insight.

I feel the same. Otherwise, it would defeat the appeal of the hotel. Imagine staying at Helios, watching people mingling in the park from your balcony, but you, yourself, can only enter once every three days.

This whole thread is speculation. It's based on information regarding what tickets THIRD PARTY sellers will initially allowed to sell.

The 14 day UK ticket will offer one day at EPIC.

Sounds like rope drop to park close days.

Staying at a Universal hotel, JMO, will wind up being the best option for extra days at EPIC

Has anyone heard of ideas for private VIP tours? I thought I read current private VIP tours are around $3500? I assume this might be around 5 or 6k? If so might make sense to do if we can get 2 families to split.

Was considering it as an option for next summer but if they aren’t going to offer a more flexible admission policy, I’ll wait.

Just comes off like they’re more concerned about cannibalizing USF/IOA than actually drawing market share from their competitors
This was my first thought as well. USF and IOA are desperately in need of investments. When Epic opens, it was always going to take some share from Disney but it was also going to cannabalize their own parks as well.

While I can’t imagine this is the only way to access EU, the fact that they will sell these 3 day tickets at all is a bit desperate. This is not a way to help limit attendance to EU. This is just a way to force people to go to USF or IOA for 2 days.

Hopefully they sell one day tickets or have other means to enter the park but this 3 day pass is not the way to go.

Airlines no longer pay TAs, a few exceptions. Passengers who book airline tickets through.a TA might pay a service fee.

I've wondered why Disney and Universal bother with third party resellers.

Could this be the first step to phasing them out?

We don't even have an opening month for EPIC. I'll speculate, timing suggests, Universal contractually has to give the resellers information regarding next years tickets. We're within 6 months.

In what world would Universal want tickets sold at this time?

This suggests to me EPIC only tickets will have a $$$ price premium.

It all suggests hotel ticket packages may be an attractive option

I hope that they don't make AP holders purchase a ticket. if they do I hope there is a discount at least. I was hoping they would offer us on upgrade. I am sure some AP holders will be blocked for Epic during the summer but allowed in the other parks. This is the way they do it with parks when they have new attractions. To me honest I am willing to wait until summer is over before I go.

At this point I’ll just be happy if they don’t force me to buy day tickets for the two parks I already have admission for with my ap. Even if they don’t offer an ap option for epic, at least let us buy an epic only day ticket. it makes no sense to force someone to basically double purchase tickets for the current parks just so they can visit the new one.

I could actually see ap holders having a case against epic - oh, so you have an ap for these two parks? Well, you can visit those anytime, but if you want to see our third park, you must purchase 2 day tickets to the two parks you already have a ticket for……wouldn’t that requirement violate the ap terms? They would essentially make you pay admission twice.

Looking at it this way, it really does seem like the initial rumor would only be a third party seller ticket. Epic would need to have a way for current ap holders to purchase admission to only epic universe without requiring them to double purchase for their current parks, or it risks violating the ap terms.

Sorry it's been a rough morning. I just completely forgot that they weren't offering a day ticket. I would hate if they forced us to buy that ticket that's for all the parks. It's a year until this opens. I'm hoping that we get more concrete information as we get closer. I think that offering us an upgrade from two parks to 3 might be the best way to handle this for AP holders. Plus the seasonal or Power pass ( I could be wrong on the name of this one) might be blocked for certain dates. While preferred and higher would not be as long as they upgrade.

At this point It's all speculation I could be completely wrong. I'm just basing it on what has been done in the past.

Agree - fully expecting to have to pay for seperate tickets to EPIC BUT shouldn't have to pay for IOA & USF AGAIN just to get into EPIC - and I really don't think we'll have to.

Hoping for AP discount on tix & would LOVE an onsite stay discount and/or first chance at tix - or at least 1 day guaranteed entry to EPIC.

Anyone else thinking maybe date-based tix or reservations required? Blergh - hated the ressie requirement at WDW...but understandable.

This is what I’m hoping they do too! I just hope we have concrete info on what ticket options there will be before I have to decide whether or not to renew my ap.
