Good news, packing is close to done. And a problem I was worried about has hopefully been resolved. I worried about space. I have 2 big suticases and 1 medium. Well the biggest one is not full, but close to 50lbs, so I can't add more to it, even though there is room too. The medium is full, but only about 30 lbs. I would say my other big one, once I get it fuilled with the rest will be somewhere around 30 -40 lbs. I worried more about space to bring things home. Well Mom lent me one of her big suitcases, as she has plan s to go and buy more matching luggage and this one doesn't match. So now I have more room and can replace the medium with this one. I amy still throw the rolling duffle insdied to have extra space for the trip home, but I feel better have 3 large suitcases.
I plan to do a little rearranging today and get it settled till I have to throw in the last minute things.
I also got a few more pairs of socks for me and some for Claire too last night. I noticed most of her socks either were too small or school socks, which are fine, but she basically needed new socks. I always need new socks because I have horrid feet that must have razor blades on the bottom, as I wear holes in them.
I am pretty sure Claire knows that our first night is at AKL. She keeps asking, and I keep telling her I can't say. She then mentioned a few nights ago that she knows it has something to do with the Animal Kingdom. I played it off and said something like "Why would we sleep in the park with the Animals?" LOL
Last night we had dinner with my parents and my Mom asked me which resort our cousin Katie was staying in. I told her Animal Kingdom Lodge ...and I herad Claire gasp, but she didn't say anything. I think she just put 2 and 2 together.
We are all wondering how this trip wil lbe with my Dad. If you read my TR last year where we traveled with him, you know he is quite a character ....and set in his ways.
He is such a structured kind of person. Goes by a routine and hates when things are changed. I told him about a week ago that when you cruise, you have to go with the flow, and his response was just like a kid. "NO, I will not go with the flow, I will not". I don't think he has a choice, but oh well.
I also warrned him the other night that when he ordered food, like steak, on the cruise to be sure to ask for no sauce. He wanted to know why, and I told him that a lot of foods come with a sauce ....thats 'fancy' dining. He went off about why in the world would anyone ruin food by adding sauces to them. My Mom and I just laughed and we'll have to be sure to check what he orders so we don't hear him gripe about some foreign sauce ruining his food.
I'm sure I'll have some funny stories to tell, and then some things that totally irritate the heck out of me too.
