Nike (yes, the shoe)

Fellow social worker had a mother trying to pick girl names and asked SW what she thought of pa-ja-may. When friend asked her where she heard it, she said she was looking in a catalog and thought it was pretty (pajama in Sears catalog!)
Same friend had a childhood friend named Crystal Shanda Lear ( no I did not make that up!)![]()
These were the worst names I heard:
Nike (yes, the shoe)
Miata (yes, the car)
Aquanetta (yes like the hairspray)
Aer Jordan (yes the basketball shoe)
There should be a law against naming your child after a tradmarked item!!!![]()
I love Galen, Kennedy, Chloe, Zoe, Skylar. I named my DD Olivia.
imp&pixie said:I like classic names. When naming my children I used the test asking how the name would sound on an older person. Names ending with "y" or "ie" sounded wrong for older people. Also, anything that is difficult or confusing to spell was right out. I don't want to have to correct people or spell out a name for them every time I say it. I love the names Tova and Sarah.
