Unique Baby Girls names??

just remember...unique names, not unique spelling! I alway slike maternal maiden names for little girls.

i didnt go through all the pages, but in the ones i went thru, i didnt see my youngest daughters name...it is KYANA(could have spelled it kiana)...my oldest daughters name is JAYME....we almost named the girls rylee and danika...my son was going to nikki had had been a girl(nicole was the long version, but now i love the name nikkola)...have fun

My mom wanted me to be Stephanie and my Dad wanted me to be Anastasia or Kyrie' (KIR-ee-ay). I think that is pretty different.

Then somehow they decided on Alyssa Noel (I was due on 12/24) but I wasn't born until 1/16. My mom then wanted to name me Alyssa Rene' or Alyssa Rose- my last name starts with a T- so my initials would spell ART, and she could say I was her peice of art. Instead I am Alyssa Nicole- A.N.T??

These are some names I love for girls.

Eden
Eliza
Alyce
Giana

I already have two girls so I won;t be needing anymore names LOL! :rotfl:

Emmalie (pronounced Emily) is my new favorite. We already have 3 DDs so I don't think I'll be using it anytime soon. Perhaps you can!

Our DD is named Cameran. Not crazy unique, but also not crazy common. We figure she won't be 1 of 5 Camerans in her class.

Our DD has the same name, but we spelled it Cameryn. The day she was baptized there were 3 other babies getting baptized too, and one of the other little girls was Cameron. Last night we were at Chilis and overheard a couple calling their new DD Camryn too. (I asked how they spelled it and thatw as it) I am sure we'll be seeing more and more Cameron, Camryn, Cameran, and Cameryn's in the future. I love the name for a girl! :goodvibes

OK, here are some true stories from when I worked as a social worker.

Fellow social worker had a mother trying to pick girl names and asked SW what she thought of pa-ja-may. When friend asked her where she heard it, she said she was looking in a catalog and thought it was pretty (pajama in Sears catalog!)

Same friend had a childhood friend named Crystal Shanda Lear ( no I did not make that up!) :rotfl:

These were the worst names I heard:

Nike (yes, the shoe)
Miata (yes, the car)
Aquanetta (yes like the hairspray)
Aer Jordan (yes the basketball shoe)
There should be a law against naming your child after a tradmarked item!!! :lmao:

I love Galen, Kennedy, Chloe, Zoe, Skylar. I named my DD Olivia.

My DH has a niece and has 4 kids:

Lexis (yes the car but spelled differently)
Tyranny
Mystic Jade
Cyar (a boy)

These are just ridiculous.

I like classic names. When naming my children I used the test asking how the name would sound on an older person. Names ending with "y" or "ie" sounded wrong for older people. Also, anything that is difficult or confusing to spell was right out. I don't want to have to correct people or spell out a name for them every time I say it. I love the names Tova and Sarah.

I am 100% with you on this one! I also consider what the name would sound like on an older person! LOL And I also stay away from names that are hard to pronounce. I have one of those names  My name is Marcia (pronounced Mar-see-a, NOT Marsha) but nobody ever gets it right, so I always go by Marcy.

I tend to stick with Biblical names...we are pretty traditional!

some of these names are great! :goodvibes

i'm doing my internship at an elementary school in south florida now, and some of the more intersting names are:

tajanie
tyre (tie-REE)
ayla
rock and jazz (brothers- not kidding)
shaquiesha
shamar
y'mari

there are a bajillion more, but i can't think of them right now...

some of my fave girl names right now are:

sydney/ sydnea
molly
ella
ainsley
abigail

I also wanted to mention I went to High School with Bruce Lee___and he has a brother Rocky Marciano___

My daughters name is Marlie, We do get a lot of compliments on it.
I also love the name Malia (sounds like Muh lee a)

Addison
Allayiah
Faron
Sierah
Tamaira
Derin (dayren)
Neveah (naveyah - heaven backwards)
Justice

I also like some of the popular Kayla and Madison

We just got back from Disneyland, and there was a wonderful CM at the DLH pool named 'Amethyst'. Very pretty, and certainly not a name I've seen before! I think it could be nicknamed 'Amie' (Amy) if desired.

Why not do an old fashioned name. My daughter's middle name is Genevieve. If it would have been her first we would have nicknamed her Evie. I just thought it was too cute. It was my great-grandmother's name. Go back a few generations and see what kind of names you come up with.

We were going to name DD Paris (we live Paris from the Gilmore Girls!), but we were nervous that people would think that she was named for Paris Hilton....YUCK!

If we ever have another DD, we are going to name her Courtney. Not too unique, but you don't see many around now a days.

I also like the names:
Kendall
Juliana
Peyton
Molly
