Unique Baby Girls names??

My sister's name is Charla (pronounced Sharla). She was named after my dad, Charles.

My 10 yo DD was telling me a story about these girls in another 5th grade class and one of the girl's names was Ecstasy! :scared1: I was like "What?" Of course, THEN she wanted to know what it meant.

DD's name is Chloe (only one in her school of 600 kids) If I would have had another girl would have called her Jade.

When I named my daughter 13 years ago you never heard Shelby. But now its all over, and yes I did get it from the movie. I just loved that name when I heard it SSSSHHHEEELLLBBBYYYY.. :cool1:

My DD's name is Elizabeth Carlin. My MIL is Betty thus Elizabeth. my mom and dad are Carol and Linvelle thus Carlin. She has my FIL last name.LOL No if we had a son he would have been a fourth. We laugh and say little I V. :rotfl: My other DD is Victoria thus Tori. You have lots of good suggestions!! We could start a book! :rotfl2:

I work at a school and we have some girls with really cute unusual names.
Tayah, Diamond, Jacinda, Micah, Tobie, Harlee, Cherakee, Skyla, Bradleigh.

My daughter is Kayla and we didn't know any Kayla's 15 years ago and now there are 3 Kayla's on her softball team! I wish I had heard of Michaela before we named her, I really like that. My boys are Colton, Chase and Wyatt and they are the only ones with those names in our school.

HI!Question for anyone do you have any suggestions on some unique but not so unique Baby Girls names? My Niece is pregnant and she found out she is having a girl and would like some suggestions for different names that aren't so common but not so different that you are going to be blown away when you hear it! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Growing up I ALWAYS said that if I had a girl I would name her,
'PAISLEY LEIGHANN'
Well, I grew up and I DID have a girl, however, my DH didn't like that name as much as I did! (go figure right :rotfl: ) I ended up naming her ....
AmberRae Elizabeth. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that name! I have heard of
'Amber Rae' and 'Amber Elizabeth' but I just fell in love with 'AmberRae' as one word and Elizabeth as the middle name. Just thought I would share! :daisy:

These are some really good suggestions! I should know soon what she's going to do! She is due October 4th but may be induced the week of the 25th of September! Because she is High Risk!

In one of my own children's classes a few years ago he had a CHEVYANNE
never heard that before then!

I'm really gald that this thread not only helped us it helped others!! I'll keep you posted! :goodvibes

I have two boys, but the girls names we liked while I was pregnant were Avery and Kealey. Love both of them...

Amy

...We have an Avery Brynn as well as an Emily Marie. I also like Camryn (or spelled however you like) but DH's niece already had that name. LOL

Careful with this, you know my hubby and I were trying to find something unique but not freakish. We liked the name Lily but thought it was too common- I named my daughter Liliana (from Snow White a Tale of Terror w. sigouney weaver) and do you know I ran into a girlfriend of mine from HS whose daughter has the same name- WHAT!!! YOu gotta be freakin kidding me.. Not only that but since we named her and Lily barely made the top 100 most popular names, I hear it all the time. There are a billion Lily's on TV. I've taken the nasty habit of correcting everyone who shortens her name-No, her name is liliANA! and not Lily Anna either-ugh!! But by the same token she wasn't saddled with Moon Unit either. :)

My granddaughter's name is Liliana Grace. Everyone thinks her name is Lili Anna Grace and her parents are continually having to explain that Liliana is one word.

As we were considering names for my unknown child, we shared with family members. I loved the name Arabella.

My aunt said it reminded her of Clarabell the Cow.

Now I couldn't name her that if we wanted to because I would think about Clarabell the Cow. I didn't want any more names shot down.

We decided to tell everyone the names would be Horatio Ignatious or Hortence Imogene. The initials would be HIC! LOL!

We don't share names until it is too late. BTW, no one said anything about those name choices. They just said "Oh".

I've had a Bruce Wayne ___ and a Christian Faith ___ in class.

Also, Oralia (or-rahl -ya) is the pronunciation

It really won't be the end of the world if a child has to "share" her name with other children.

I just wanted to make sure I chose names that would fit both a little girl and a grown woman. I didn't want my daughters to be 35 and stuck with a cutesy toddler-sounding name. I imagined my girls' names with a "dr." in front of them and an "attorney-at-law" behind them.

Their names are Natalie and Paige.

I know how you feel, I "feel your pain" I named my daughter, AmberRae. Her full name is AmberRae Elizabeth. I hate hate hate when they ask her name and I tell them (or she does) AmberRae and they INSTANTLY say, "Oh Amber, what a beautiful name!" :furious: "I" instantly responed with, "We don't call her Amber, her name is AmberRae" or "Her name is not Amber it is AmberRae" My DH HATES when I do that. But good greif! If your name is Wendy, would I instantly assume you are to be called "WEN"?! I didn't name her AMBER for a reason. Can you tell it drives me nuts! LOL she's 8 now. She does the correcting herself. We have been lucky sincr we moved here. The last two classes she's been in there was another girl in the class named Amber so they had no choice but to call her AmberRae. He teacher this year when I told her we don't call her Amber told me that she completley understood as her daughter's name is Annabella or something and has the same problem. good luck!

I love baby names. It is such an important decision! :sunny:

I have not read all the posts, but thought I would share my daughters names and some of my favorites!

DD5 Kylah Raine
(both middle names are after grandparents)
DD2 Clara Ruth

Some names I like are
Dahri
Nikolette
Raina

Fun thread! :Pinkbounc

We finally just picked a name for the new baby who is going to be a girl. After much deliberation we have chosen Karina Maribel. DH is happy because he basically chose both names, but I'm the one who needs to decide how to spell them. I think it will fit in well with our 1st DD Leila Isabelle.
