Unfair :(

I am sorry you are enraged, I would be to if I were in your shoes. Disney knows your upset too, but they value my $10 that goes to them for every $1 you spend on them. Your money is going to other hotels and restaurants offsite, mine goes 100% to them. Do you realize how much money all those keys cost? It is not like they "fell of the back of a truck". Stealing is taking something, I bought those keys and worked hard to do it.

And you are right, I am not screwing over Disney, nor would I, I really like Disney and have no problem giving them my money. In turn, they have given me this opportunity, and yes off-siters are at the losing end of this opportunity, but again this is by Disney design, not by my choice.

I travel for business quite a bit as well and I have some lofty loyalty status with hotels and airlines. Is it me stealing from the other 1 time guests at a hotel or airline when I sit in first class or get a complimentary suite, all while paying less than them and using my loyalty status? Nothing is by accident when a large well run company makes decisions and sets up the rules of the game.

You are my hero. :lmao:

Your outlook on this whole situation astounds me.

I get what you're saying and can even see how you've come to these conclusions. But yet, I'm sitting here with my mouth agape.

On the other discussion... robpa... I really don't understand this argument. This goes for resorts and destinations worldwide. When you stay onsite you get perks over people who don't. Why should Disney be any different?

I mostly just don't understand how this would be logistically possible. If you use one KTTW to pull a FP, and then use a second to pull another...wouldn't the return times be the same? What be the point of it then?

No point just a way to scam the system and prevent others from getting a chance to ride. If in fact the poster is not just trolling.

I don't really disagree with the FP+ for onsite guests as a perk, but if FP- still exists for offsite and the onsite users abuse the system that is what I disagree with. Also with Disney's lack of control, communication and intentions fo the whole shabang

Stirring the pot really isn't necessary. Things are already heated enough around here. :goodvibes

You go on about wanting more perks than you used to have but chances are you will get them because perks that others got are being taken away. Something being taken away will always bother people, it's just logical. :confused3

We don't know how this will all play out yet but right now it appears that offsite visitors have lost something. That can be perceived as unfair but of course people being what they often are just want more and more even at the expense of others. Just human nature.

I don' want more perks than Disney is giving me.

No, but people value each perk differently so I don't think they could ever offer enough. When you go to book your accommodations you chose to book or not book on your perceived value(including more than just park perks) If you believe you are receiving value you book if not you look elsewhere. A lot of people book Walt Disney World resorts so they must feel that they are already getting value so why all of a sudden do they want more?

This is the post you referenced above. Are you really trying to say that booking at an onsite hotel is "perk enough"?? Cause that's what it sounds like.

Will you come back on here and honestly say what happened? You know if it worked or not? I am intrigued.

Yes, I will, we get back just before Thanksgiving. The keys are mostly from the last 8 or so years, a few are older than that, so no clue what will and will not work.

I realized I said that after I hit send! Throwing those words around too much, I suppose.
You are absolutely right, there is an incredibly thin line between value and perk. People just have to look at the whole package, whatever that may be for them, and in the end, go with whatever holds the most value for them.

About those legacy machines.....it would suck if they disappear, especially if that capability isn't incorporated into MBs (meaning, I could see pulling legacy FP by using MBs, not KTTW). But I'm desperately trying to hold my speculations on this in check until Disney actually releases a statement of intent in regards to legacy FP. It's not easy to do that when reading DIS!

I agree. Its you money ,need to feel good about spending it.

I said in another thread even if they leave some fastpass capability for same day it will probably be slim pickins. I guess it all depends on how many they are going to give the pre-booking capability to. I mean there are only so many hours in a day and rides can only load and unload so fast.

Good discussion :thumbsup2

I don' want more perks then Disney is giving me.

I'm gonna call BS on this one. LOL, sorry. But if Disney suddenly said, "you know what... we're going to give you some perks!" You wouldn't take them? Of course you would, happily.

To say you don't want them is to say you would deny them if in fact given to you.

Maybe you're not actively asking Disney for more perks, or demanding more, but don't say you wouldn't take them or don't want any. Because I don't buy that.

Clearly, you have never ridden Peter Pan with a toddler. If it where up to them, we would ride Peter Pan 5 times and hour from Rope drop to close.

Its not an argument, I'm just trying to see what people feel is a perk. Obviously you stay onsite so what has changed that makes you feel a need for more perks? I mean you felt the perks they already have in place are adequate since you have stayed onsite. They didn't subtract any did they?

:thumbsup2

hmm so If Disney meant you to have this "perk" of using 30 old cards then why do you feel the need to break them up into packs to scam the system that you so rightfully deserve?

double speak for I know what I'm doing is wrong, Disney knows what I'm doing is wrong so let me not get caught by thinking of a way to scam the system.

While I agree it is sketchy Disney should have something in place to prevent it from happening, if not then it is Disney's fault.

Yes, actually, I have. I guess we were just lucky that they were perfectly content to move on to something else.

No, I alluded to you know what perks you are getting when you book a room at Disney, if you feel it is worth the money you book it if not you don't. You don't say you don't like it and book it anyway and then ask for different perks.

I'll answer for me at least, even though this question wasn't posed to me.

A perk, for me, is something extra that I get that others (staying off site) don't get. It can be anything. I don't feel I need more. I think that's the wrong way of looking at it. I wouldn't turn any perks away, that's for sure. If Disney said they were giving x,y,z away as a perk, I'd say great!! Sign me up.

Oh ok, I misunderstood then. You are correct. I wouldn't do that. But if they happened to give me extra, I wouldn't turn them away ;)

I find this hilarious, the troll calling out a troll :)

I would love to see the data that led to this statement. I am assuming you have this data, otherwise, this statement really seem to fit wiki's definition for...

I agree it is mainly Disney's fault. But I bet they never thought people would try to stick 8 year old KTTW cards in the FP machines either. :/

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
