We arrived at the Boardwalk around 6:00pm, it was raining......We strolled down to the ESPN club.....this is a must stop for me, here's why: I had to pee !!!! A little information about the ESPN club........The bathrooms have monitors with sports on them.......WOW, what else could a guy want??
I was able to watch sports while standing at a urinal.........Not much better things in life than that!!!!

OK, so I lied........they had monitors over the stalls too!!!!! When I use the bathrooms there I get a tear in my eye........GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!! After the bathroom I found DW in the little gift shop.....she just looks at me and rolls her eyes

......
We left there and strolled down to Big River!!!
As we approached Big River I saw about 5 employees standing under the awning.......I walked up and gave them my ADR and name......they told me "we wont need that, we are a little slow tonight". We walked in and they sat us at a high table up against the glass to the micro brewery!! Huge stainlees tanks of beer, a whole beer factory

!!!! I only saw about 5 tables with people........very empty place. I have to admit I was a little concerned at this point.......I have read mixed reviews about Big River on this site.....
Our waitress comes over and introduces herself......she explains the menu, beer etc. A very good waitress.....I cant remember her freakin name.....she was feisty, I like that in a waitress....I was able to make some smart alec comments without worrying about her spitting on my food!!! Now thats a good waitress......
I ordered a pint of Rocket Red Ale, very good beer....I enjoyed it.....She then brought me over a sample of other beer.....what a gal!!!!
I looked around the place and who do I see??? LAZYDOXY66 from my DIS meet-n-greet.......cool, I stroll over and talk to her and her hubby.....It is cool to see a fellow DIS'er anywhere.....They were enjoying the meals they ordered .....they looked good too!!!
We ordered a dinner salad to share (very romantic I know

). Good dinner salad, not just lettuce heaved on to a plate....it had cukes, tom., croutons......etc......
DW ordered a NY Strip. I ordered the New York Oscar.....a NY Steak with lumps of crab in bernaise sauce on top.....garlic mashed pot. (very good size portion) and peas in the pod.....they also put 2 asparagus stalks on top of the steak and crab.......It was a very good meal.....one of my favorites....Our waitress spent a lot of time with us...ckd on us several times (prob. because it was slow)......
We had dessert, but I dont remember what we had.......I have looked at the menu here and dont recall....I'm sure DW had the Choc. whatever......she needs a daily choc. fix!!!!
I even bought a shirt from Big River......has the logo on the front, a large logo on the back for one of the beers. Southern Flyer Light Lager....
After we were all done with dinner, after I had my shirt.....I called the waitress over and asked to speak to the Mgr.......He shows up a few minutes later....I told him my meal was great we really enjoyed it and I would write a good review on this site.....he knew about the boards....Then I floored him....I told him our waitress was awesome and she should get the "employee of the month" parking space, if they had one.
The waitress was standing there........she just looked at him......She said "what? I didnt tell him to say it".........He just rolled his eyes.....Turns out they do in fact have a parking space for employee of the month.......it was hillarious....The mgr. did not believe me........but he thanked me....they walked away and she was pleading with him......"I did not tell him to say that!!....
All in all we had a grat time at Big River and it has made the UJ list of places we must eat.......
Here are a few photos from Dinner and the Boardwalk......Sorry, I did not take a picture of my meal before I started eating....kind of gross I know....
