Two for One: Double Disney Birthdays! *Meg nonTR upd 9/23* // *Help out Katie! 10/22*

Katie, good job on finalizing your dining ressies! I think you will like the convenience of the dining plan -- we do it for all of our big trips and just love not having to think about budgeting for meals.

Megan, I always have weird freaky dreams before trips, too, where something isn't going the way it is supposed to. I hope you love The Kingdom Keepers! The kids and I have read the first two, and the third one is supposed to come out in April. We just get the biggest kick out of it a book that is all about our favorite place!

Thanks CP! I think I'm just going to have to tell myself to quit worrying about it and go with it. My Mom wouldn't have said yes to it if she didn't think its what will work best for us.

Meg,
I now have to go find Kingdom Keepers and read it before we go back to school next week. Let me know what you think of it!

Whoops..........guess I owe you a text explaining....I could have sworn I told you what we are doing...hmmmmmm....guess not! And I am totally still stressing over our ADR's....I keep going back and forth on the DP....My main worry is that it isn't the best value for us....its going to be expensive ($1200, though I don't feel that is too expensive considering we are at Disney) for a week with four adults....but I can see us getting a great value out of it as well, and my mom did agree that that amount sounded about right for what she typically figures for a week long vacation with us...it's just that I have been booking everything for this trip so I know exactly how much it is costing :scared1::scared1::scared1: plus my mom has had some unexpected home repairs in the past month that is seriously crimping her cash flow...but at the same time I realize that Disney is somewhat $$$...I just can't seem to settle one way or the other...

Is it $1200 for all of you? If it is, I think that's a pretty good deal, because that's like $300 apiece, right? I think that's pretty good for four adults. Would it help to look at the menus and try to price out what everyone might want to eat? I'd totally help you with that.

It is SO irritating. I didn't have any last night, thankfully, but I'm pretty sure it's going to happen again in the next three weeks. The one about Caesar's vaccines (or lack thereof) made me  because with the exception of the bordatella/kennel cough vaccine, which he only needs before he is being boarded, I am so careful about keeping those up-to-date.

I LOVE KK so far! I am pretty sure I'll never look at Its A Small World the same. I don't really like dolls to begin with, and those WERE on my "okay" list. :lmao:

I'm a little more than halfway through and I LOVE it! Let me know when you read it so we can talk about it. I am already anxious to go get the second one. :rotfl: I really only remembered to get it because I was going to go to the "travel" section and find a Disney book, and then I remembered hearing about Kingdom Keepers, so I hunted that down, instead, and I'm SO glad I did!

Ok, when you split it up into $300 each for a week that for some reason sounds a lot better to me....crazy! I tried pricing out just what I would get at table service meals last night....I came to a value of $244 for seven TS meals...which if we are saying $300 for the week..then $56 on seven QS and seven snacks isn't that much...wow....Good job Meg :thumbsup2 You just put it all into perspective for me! I'll even forgive you for having an EoS in your city :lmao:

I promise you that you will definitely never look at it the same way again. Now, every time we ride it, the kids and I are joking about that scene. :rotfl:

I'm all about making things sound better than they really are, especially when it comes to money -- it's how I justified dropping $100 on a Blackberry I'm stuck with for two years. I finally just decided that it's only like $50 a year. :rotfl:

I still cannot believe there's an EoS in the airport. I really hope it's not past the gates because I want to go there so badly. I wonder how funny Charles would look at me if I said that I wanted to take the T to the airport so I could get a sandwich. :lmao:

My friend from work just finished it and wrote on my Facebook that IASW will forever creep her out now. My mom wants to read it when I'm done and I can't wait to see what she has to say about it. I went up to Barnes and Noble after work tonight and got the second one -- I am obsessed now!

Make sure you put April 6 on your calendar -- that's when the third one comes out -- I already have it in my Amazon cart. :rotfl:

I wouldn't look at you weirdly if you said you wanted to go the airport to get some EoS! I'm still looking for the book...its somewhere in our apartment...

UPDATE:

Today we registered for Give-A-Day...so I should have some pictures to post later this week!

Oh, that's perfect -- that's a week before my birthday! That is the perfect birthday present to myself. :rotfl2:

And that's why I love you :rotfl: You and other DISers would understand this and encourage it. Charles, on the other hand, would probably just say, "why not Panera?", because he's never had EoS, and quite honestly, the T can be a huge pain, but it would be worth it. Maybe if I tell him that it's like Panera, but better, he'd be willing to go.

I'm so excited that you registered for that -- I would love to see any pictures! I need to take a picture of my Mickey head countdown; it's diminishing so quickly. :woohoo:

I'm here! I love the joint TR idea! I also have a very close friend that I met on another forum :)

There's a Harry Potter exhibit at the Museum of Science, and Charles and I are going next Thursday before we go to the Bruins game, so if there's any Harry Potter fans, I want to post pictures.

Oooh! I love Harry Potter! I might have to go check that out!

Right before I do something (anywhere from cutting off my hair to going to Disney), I have bizarre dreams about it.

Me too!!! I've had a Disney dream almost every night since we booked the trip! I had one a few nights ago that the trip was over and somehow we never got to ride anything in MK :scared1: And last night I had a dream that I was in line for the Tower of Terror and my grandma appeared out of nowhere. My grandma is 84 years old and walks with a cane so the Tower of Terror line is not a good place for her to be :rotfl:

I still need to create a countdown for our trip....So I'm excited that you are going to the HP exhibit and the Bruins game this week! (It is this week right?) I think that we need to get Charles to Disney sometime....Patrick's mom still hasn't heard back about the house....the bank is taking forever and isn't giving her any feedback....I want them to hurry up and accept the offer so that I can start planning trips, ones that involve you!

Hey! Thank you for coming over -- we are very excited to have readers :rotfl: Isn't it funny how you can become so close with someone you meet on a message board? When I registered, I had no idea that I would end up being so close with another DISer. :goodvibes

I'm definitely going to update about the HP exhibit -- I think it's there till February 21. I'm really really excited for it! I've been looking forward to this day for almost a month -- I got a pair of Bruins tickets for Christmas, so I'm going to the HP exhibit AND the game and have been looking forward to both since Christmas!

I had a dream like that, too! It wasn't too recently, it might have even been before our trip last year, but we were leaving and we had hardly done anything or gone anywhere. :scared1: I was the only who really seemed to care about it, too, which was even crazier!

:thumbsup2

Yes, go liberate some Mickey heads. And you're right, they are this week, on Thursday. I'm SO excited! I've seriously been looking forward to this since Christmas.

I would LOVE to be able to go to Disney with you! We do need to get Charles there but he wants the first time, whenever that it is, to be with his family, which I understand. Any time after that should be fair game, though. I hope she hears back soon. I remember when you messaged me about that on FB a little while back and said that Charles and I would have to come stay with you guys at some point -- I told Charles that and he thought it was so nice. In the meantime, I think I'm going to start working on him to go with me to meet up with you guys for my birthday. If it's for my birthday, the unhappiness at the drive would be minimally voiced. :rolleyes1

I have the Mickey heads...I actually got them for our October trip, but never used them...So for some reason I really wasn't thinking you were talking about meeting in Syracuse...I was thinking you meant WDW and I was trying to figure out how we could actually swing that this year...lol...When is your Bday again? March? Or April? I know its around there, cause I got a card signed for you last year...even though I didn't give it to you til May...ooooooooo I got you a present today! hehehe...I'll probably ship you stuff next week? I think...if we go to the outlets this week...if not it will be later in the month.

April :) I still have the card! I love it!

Awww, thank you so much. You need to tell me anything else that you'd like for me to pick up for you next month, aside from Kris's birthday button. I have some ideas of things that I want to get you and send to you, but my stupid work schedule is, well, stupid. :)

I'm taking a quick break from Kingdom Keepers because I don't want it to end, but I DID get the second book after work today, after mentioning to my friend that I was already dying to get the second book. Also, CP told me that the next book in the series comes out on April 6, so I am definitely pre-ordering that on Amazon. I seriously would never have known about these books if not for the DIS.

I decided I'd share some of last years pictures with you all. Kailyn didn't willingly get into a lot of pictures, because up until recently, she was very camera shy. Now, instead of saying, "noooo" and blocking her face when I point a camera at her, or try to take a picture with her, she reacts by making a face (like me), or posing (also like me), so I'm hoping to get some good pictures with her on this trip.

I will admit right now that I am a wimp. I don't like the dark and I don't like loud noises. I love scary movies, but I will cover my ears because sometimes the music scares me even more. So why do I love scary movies? It's hard to say. It is also hard to say why I love Dinosaur, because no matter how many times I have been on it, it still scares me to death. Kailyn is also terrified of it, but loves it. The first nightmare that she remembers was something about a t-rex in our neighborhood, so she has a pretty good excuse to be afraid. I am just a wimp. My mom loves the ride. I wish we had purchased this picture. We're in the front. My mom's first, pretending to sleep. I was screaming, and Kailyn was holding on to my arm, had her face buried in my arm, and was covering her head with her free hand. Yet we still go on it... :rotfl:

I took these when we were heading out (it was nighttime EMH at AK), and I regret not getting more pictures of AK at night. If you have never been at night, GO. It's so different at night, and so gorgeous. EE is also pretty awesome at night. ;)

I am looking forward to riding this,

n505059094_1337943_7990.jpg

without seeing this. (Kailyn has an obsession with two languages -- Japanese and German. I made the mistake of letting her pick the language.)

I couldn't tell you much about our future, but it involved our little guys getting buried in snow and my little dude breaking an arm.

Is there anything better than an almost-empty Main Street in the morning? :cloud9:

All of us (my mom, Kailyn, and I) had cases of morning brain this day -- we got to MK right after the 9 AM opening and didn't go straight to Toontown to meet the fairies, which we really wanted to do. It is definitely on the list for this trip.

One of my very very very favorites! I am dying to ride this on the KTTK tour.

I am so ready to be back. I texted Katie last night to vent because I was having a super crappy night at work and needed to talk to her, and talk to someone who can understand that need to go to Disney World and forget about real life for a little while. This Wednesday is the three week mark, and I am so very, very ready to go back. Kailyn is also very excited and I'm really hoping for an uneventful redo for her and my dad.

Have a good night, everyone!

Hey! Thank you for coming over -- we are very excited to have readers :rotfl: Isn't it funny how you can become so close with someone you meet on a message board? When I registered, I had no idea that I would end up being so close with another DISer. :goodvibes

Having readers is very exciting :thumbsup2 When I checked on my PTR I ran into the other room and said "MOM!!!!! I have readers!!!!!!!!" I was so excited about it :lmao:

Have fun at the Bruins game! My grandma gave me some money for Christmas to spend on whatever I want, so I'm using it to buy Red Sox tickets for me and my dad :yay: We're either going on April 24th or 25th. We're playing the Orioles that weekend. We considered going the week before when we're playing the Rays, but there's a higher chance of going to a winning game if we're playing the Orioles :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Dinosaur scares me too! And I have to go on it alone! My mom has back problems so it's a little too rough for her. I always get nervous on that ride, but I love it anyway!

I'm also very ready to be back. Real life is way too stressful! I need to escape for a week!

And that's why I love you :rotfl: You and other DISers would understand this and encourage it. Charles, on the other hand, would probably just say, "why not Panera?", because he's never had EoS,

Charles, Charles, Charles!!!
Because Panera is not Earl.
That's why!

Earl is sorta Disney.
Panera is just out here in the real world.
I have one less than a mile from my house.

I wish Earl would just ship the bread. I would order a bunch of it, and whatever I ended up putting on it would be good, for sure.

I'm also very ready to be back. Real life is way too stressful! I need to escape for a week!

True, true words.
Only I need to escape for more than a week.
Or maybe a week each month.
Yeah, that's it - a week each month. :dance3:

Okay, what's the basic rundown of this Kingdom Keepers series? Is it a fiction book? Now you all have me very interested!! :)

Great pictures! I also just adore Dinosaur. I can't even scream, I just laugh my way through the whole thing. It's so fun! Ak at night looks gorgeous!

I told Meg that it is not fair that Boston has an EoS...even if it is just an airport location! And I am with you on going to Disney one week a month...I could easily do that!!!!!!!

I loooooove their bread! I'm hoping to do a little investigating when we are at Logan in a few weeks so I can locate EoS. I have been guilty of eating at Panera and pretending it's EoS, because to me, EoS is Disney. :rotfl2:

A week each month would be perfect!

It's basically about 4 kids who were hired by Disney World, and keep finding themselves in MK when they go to sleep. It's a lot more than that but I don't want to say too much and give it away. It was awesome, though! I loved reading it and knowing everything they were talking about in the park. I finished the first one yesterday and have moved on to the second one -- I haven't gotten far but I promised my friend I'd have it done by Saturday so I can lend it to her. :rotfl: I found them in the kid's section of Barnes and Noble for juvenile readers, like 9-12 -- I know the boys would be too young for it but your girls might like it. :)

Thank you! My mom laughs her way through it, too, especially at Kailyn and I freaking out. :rotfl:

I told Meg that it is not fair that Boston has an EoS...even if it is just an airport location! And I am with you on going to Disney one week a month...I could easily do that!!!!!!!

Whenever you and Patrick make it to Boston, we will have to make a trip to Logan for EoS! I can tell Charles it's a tour of my home area. "And this is the airport I have to go to to get to Disney." :lmao: I can already picture the look I'd get from Charles...

Good idea! :thumbsup2

I agree. A week of Disney each month?? Someone needs to invent a teleporter!
