Two for One: Double Disney Birthdays! *Meg nonTR upd 9/23* // *Help out Katie! 10/22*

I'm pretty sure that I told you? Maybe I didn't...we just booked it on Saturday, so maybe not?

It's hard to say. My memory isn't that great so I'm sure if you did tell me, and I read about it in an update, I'm going to suddenly remember you telling me. Charles gets so irritated with me because I have such a hard time remembering anything that is said. :rotfl:

My mom found our ADR list and printed me out a copy! We have eight altogether and two on two days. Definitely not keeping them all but I'm excited!

I booked 10 :scared1: we have mulitples scheduled for 3 of our days! But that only happened because after I scheduled our first set I did some "wouldn't it be great if _____had a table available" and lots of them did :banana: So I'm going to hold onto both until I know if we are paying OP or DP.....I can't decide which way I would prefer it, eat at all these great places or not be tied down to a set schedule for the whole trip :confused3 I wish you could do partial dining plans

Yeah, part of the reason we don't do a lot of TS is because we don't really want to waste all the time, or be tied down to a set schedule for the whole trip. We like to have options, but we also like food. :rotfl2: Sooooo, you wanna do the ADR update? I need to note which ones we are keeping, which ones we might keep, and which ones we are likely going to cancel.

We can if you're ready! Though I'm going to look a tad crazy for booking so many :rotfl: Hopefully everyone on here will understand!

Psh, they will. I sure do. :rotfl: I like having options! Going to make the list in a separate post. :)

ADR Update!

So I made a bunch of ADR's today...way more that we need and a few are on the same days as others. I feel somewhat bad about taking up multiple reservations, but they are for places that had several available and I know that I will be canceling some this weekend so that helps me feel a bit better about it. So here we go!

3/13-Arrival Day! So probably something at the Boardwalk because we are getting in late
3/14-Tonys @ 12 and 2:40, Coral Reef @ 7:20 (we will keep one of the Tony's if we don't do the DP, if we do we keep CR)
3/15-Whispering Canyon 5:10pm, Le Cellier 2:25 (really excited about this one!)
3/16-Probably Big River Grille for dinner after our special event
3/17-'Ohana 5:05 (most likely the one we will keep), Tutto Italia 5:40
3/18-Crystal Palace 2pm (Keeping this one regardless)
3/19-Raglan Road 3:15 (probably canceling this one), Tutto 5:20 (keeping if we get DP)

So thats our food for the week, depending on if we get the DP or not of course....If we get the DP then I'm going to be super excited about Le Cellier, 'Ohana, and Tutto! And if we don't then I get to look forward to Tony's, Crystal Palace, and Columbia Harbor House!!!! Either way, I'm going to be happy just to be in Disney with my Mom and Kris!

The Megablocks' clan ADR list

Sadly, we're not going to keep all of these. We're not doing a dining plan; we're paying OOP for all of these. My mom mostly made them just to have them, and because after the craziness of the first day of being able to book 180 days out, it was incredibly easy to book online, and she loved having that option. :rotfl:

Thursday, February 11: Le Cellier @ 2:30 pm

I think we are keeping this. We were supposed to eat here last year, but we didn't, because my dad was still not feeling well and wouldn't have been able to eat anything. Kailyn is a pretty picky eater, but she's also not a big eater, so if anything, I think she'd make a meal on the bread and a side of potatoes. She doesn't like meat or any kind of seafood, except for shrimp, and she's picky about some kinds of veggies. So, this is a maybe. If we eat here, I want to try the cheddar cheese soup, mushroom steak, and the creme brulee. :cloud9:

Friday, February 12: Le Cellier @ 4:30 pm; Rose & Crown @ 6:45 pm

I'm almost 100% certain that we're canceling this Le Cellier, and most likely keeping Rose & Crown. It's a late night at Epcot this night, and if we're lucky, we would be able to see Illuminations. I'm dying to eat here so I can try the Yorkshire pudding (I decided after seeing it in LL and Jen's food countdown), so I'd probably get the Sunday Roast. I also really want to try a Welsh dragon. It even comes in a souvenir cup!

Saturday, February 13: 1900 Park Fare @ 4:30 pm

We are without a doubt keeping this one. This will be a first for us, and I am SO excited for it! It's a buffet, so Kailyn will definitely find something to her liking, and we are all dying to meet the stepsisters and Lady Tremaine. I've YouTubed videos from this and was cracking up at all of them. I'm also really excited to see the Grand Floridian in person.

Sunday, February 14: Kona Cafe @ 5:05; Tony's Town Square @ 8:50 pm

This is the day that we are also doing the Keys to the Kingdom Tour at Magic Kingdom!!! We are all really looking forward to this. I've heard nothing but good things about it, and Katie did it last year and said it was awesome.

If we keep one of these ADRs, it's going to be Tony's. I really, really want to eat at Kona one day, but it probably won't be on this trip. I'm okay with that, and I'm fine with Tony's. Either one would be a first for us, which is exciting. This is the day that MK is open late for EMH, so we're definitely going to be there, and my mom and I are determined to at least try to make it the whole time, just to say we did. The KTTK tour is at 9:30 am, but if we need to, we can go back to Pop and take a nap so we're all ready for a night at MK. Tony's is going to be there if we're hungry.

Monday, February 15: Les Chefs de France @ 2:30 pm

This is another first, so I'm hoping to keep this. The baked mac and cheese is calling my name, and it's something that Kailyn would most likely eat. The vanilla creme brulee is also something that I am dying to try. My only concern (not even really a concern because I am used to his craziness), is that my dad, being my dad, will blurt out random phrases like, "SOUP DU JOUR!," or try to order his food by sounding out the French words phonetically. My dad is an amazing guy with a great sense of humor, and sometimes he enjoys embarrassing his daughters. :rotfl: I am personally hoping that he says "bonjour" to our waiter or waitress and that they start speaking French to him, as my French-speaking aunt (my dad's sister) does to him sometimes.

Tuesday, February 16: Chef Mickey's @ 5:05 pm

We are definitely keeping this, because this Kailyn's birthday dinner. :bday: Chef Mickey's is a tradition for us; we have gone there on every trip since our first trip in 1994. It's also Kailyn's favorite, which is why we're eating here on her birthday. We've actually eaten here on a few of her birthdays. I love the atmosphere, and it's always so much fun for me to go because it holds so many good memories. I think I'd be lost if we ever went on Disney trip and didn't go here.

So, there is it -- the master list of ADRs. My mom and I are also hoping to get to the Poly so we can go to Captain Cook's for tonga toast. We didn't get to on our last trip and we both really want to try it. It looks like it's pretty big, so we are willing to split it.

If anyone has thoughts/ideas/input, especially on Tony's, Chefs, and 1900 PF, we would love to hear it!

You're ADR's look awesome! We are doing CP because that is one of the things that I really remember doing from when we were there all that time ago....You are going to have a blast on the KttK tour! It's so fun!

Thanks for the invite! I'm late but I soo glad to be here! :woohoo:

This is an awesome idea to have a joint PTR!

I look forward to following along...and laughing. The infamous "glasses" are the best!

I will spread pixiedust: all over here so this coming trip will be without any problems.

pixiedust: *** pixiedust: *** pixiedust: *** pixiedust: *** pixiedust:

I am curious about this 'Dino BBQ' place everyone is talking about.
I am close to Syracuse so maybe I need to check it out sometime.

I've never been to Disney on Ice. Was it the 'Princess' one you saw?

I really want one of those snow cones in a Tinkerbell cup....:rolleyes1

ADR's look great! I would eat at any of those places!

Thanks for joining! Dinosaur BBQ has places in Syracuse, Rocheser, and NYC...they also have some of the best mac and cheese! And it was the 'Princess' show that we saw! It was really good! And I wanted a snow cone but choose cotton candy again...I kind of regret that decision now, so next year I will probably have to get the snowcone.

Thanks for the pixie dust!

Yours look awesome as well! I am SO excited for the KTTK tour. I'm so glad that Kailyn is now old enough for these kinds of things. I also really wanted to do horseback riding at Fort Wilderness with her, as a birthday present from me, but our dad is severely allergic to horses. He's so allergic he can't even be around people who have been around horses, so we'd each have to shower (and be careful about touching anything in the room), change our clothes, and wash the clothes that we wore riding separately from everyone else's clothes. I need to talk to my mom and Kailyn, maybe Kailyn and I could do that and my mom and dad could go somewhere on their own... :scratchin

HI LANA! I'm so glad you got my PM and that you came to read!

Thank you so much for all the pixie dust. :goodvibes Kailyn is really excited and I'm hoping that it's a good do-over, especially for her and my dad.

I've never been to or heard of Dinosaur BBQ until Katie mentioned it. I want to go there, though! Let me know if you ever end up making plans to go to Syracuse -- that sounds like a possible DIS meet.

The glasses will make many appearances in pictures. I think I might devote an entire post to "glasses" pictures. :rotfl:

Lots of good eating between the two of you!!! Tuesday is my ADR day and reading all the great ones you both got has me super excited! Hurray for Le Cellier -- that's our number one wish for this trip!

Either way, I'm going to be happy just to be in Disney with my Mom and Kris!

Just what I like to hear! We are all so very, very fortunate to take trips like this, so it's silly for people to stress over little inconveniences or not getting the times and places they want to eat.

I'm glad you get to see the Grand. The lobby is beautiful! We're doing 1900 Park Fare for the first time this summer - just Jill, Brooklynn, and me as a special treat for Brooklynn.

Can you take the video camera with you to Chefs? I want to see your dad in action! :)

Bella gets her first Chef Mickey's meal this summer, too! :yay:

Tonga toast is big. You'll be able to split it.

Disney on Ice is a great treat! It's especially nice when you can see it during long spells between trips.

Maybe you can do the horseback riding if you ever have a girls' trip. That would be sad if dad got sick.

I hope you guys get that Dis meet sometime!

Pretty exciting stuff to have ADR day approaching! :dance3:

I really hope we can keep it. We ate there years ago and I really want to go back. Yay for your ADR day -- I hope you get Le Cellier!

I'm really really really excited to see the GF. I want to get there early just so I can wander and take pictures.

My camera has video on it so I will gladly get my dad in action at Chef Mickey's! :rotfl: I'm glad that the tonga toast is easy to split -- my mom and I have seen pictures and it looks pretty big, and we're not big breakfast eaters, so splitting it would be perfect. :)

I am hoping for some kind of DIS meet! I used to think that Buffalo and Boston were 6 hours apart, but I think it's more like 7 or 8, so Katie and I are hoping to at some point pick a halfway point to meet up. It's just tricky because we both have school and work, and Charles absolutely hates long drives. I might be able to convince him to go with me as a birthday present. :scratchin

Yeah, I think the horseback riding would be better for a girls' trip. We're in one room at Pop, and even if my dad wasn't in the room, Kailyn or I would have to shower quickly, and the other would have to wait outside. I'm going to ask Kailyn if there's anything that she'd like to do for her birthday that I can pay for.

Don't know how you or Kailyn feel about heights, but what about the new balloon ride at DTD? Just a thought! I'm going to my Mom's for at least tonight, so I probably won't be on again until late tomorrow night or Sunday...Have a great weekend everyone!

Those ADRs look great! Le Cellier tops my must-do list next trip. Everyone just raves about it!

That is a really good idea! I'm okay with heights as long as I feel secure. If we end up doing the balloon ride, I might have to keep it a secret from Charles until after the fact because he is deathly afraid of heights and he was SO nervous about the parasailing. He felt bad that it didn't end up happening, but he was relieved, too. :upsidedow

Hope you have a good weekend

Thanks! I really hope that we get to do Le Cellier, but if we don't...oh well, we're in Disney World

My Mom and I had a serious conversation yesterday regarding our families eating styles and about what we are hoping to do on this trip...we have decided to do the DP. And I think I have finalized our ADR's, though I will probably change some a few times :lmao: No actual finalizing for me!

So, here they are!

3/13-Dinner at Boardwalk after we get in (most likely Big River)
3/14-Tony's 8:05pm
3/15-Le Cellier 2:25pm
3/16-Whispering Canyon Cafe 7:45pm
3/17- 'Ohana 5:05pm
3/18-Crystal Palace 4:40
3/19-Tutto Italia 5:20

I think this is our finalized list....and hopefully our itinerary will work well...once I actually figure it out!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I am so glad that you finally got to make some decisions about the dining plan and ADRs -- I felt bad that it was stressing you out. Crystal Palace was one of the places that my mom wanted to eat, but it's going to be closed for refurb most of the time that we're there. We do have lots of other good eats, though. I also want to try Tutto Italia and WCC at some point. I don't think 'Ohana would ever make the cut with Kailyn, because she won't touch meat. Sigh.

I can't wait for your itinerary, because before I finally deleted my one month worth of texts from my phone a couple of days ago, I checked to see if you ever told me about the surprise. I don't think you di-iiiiiid... :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

My trip-related news: I realized that I can't schedule Caesar's vaccinations until Tuesday, because I forgot that tomorrow is a holiday. :headache: I've also started to have weird dreams about our trip. Right before I do something (anywhere from cutting off my hair to going to Disney), I have bizarre dreams about it. Last night, I had a dream that we were out in Ohio visiting family. I was looking at a calendar and noticing that our Ohio dates and our Disney dates overlapped, BUT my mom couldn't give me any definite details on our trip dates. I was thinking, "so are we going to fly out of Columbus instead?" I'm pretty the dream ended with me staring at the calendar, trying to figure out how such a thing could happen. Another trip-related dream from last night was that instead of Caesar's old vet faxing the new vet his information, all they got was a fax saying, "Caesar [our last name] had his rabies vaccine on (random date)", and that was it. Nothing about his other vaccines, just the rabies vaccine. :confused3 That dream freaked me out even more than the other one because I am diligent about keeping Caesar up-to-date on his vaccines, and it somehow just planted that little seed of doubt in my mind. Sigh. Silly subconscious.

I also went to Barnes & Noble last night, where I got Kingdom Keepers, which I really only know about because of the DIS boards. I haven't gotten very far at all, but it's awesome to read about all the things in the parks, and know exactly what they are talking about.

I hope everyone had a good weekend -- I am hoping to compile some of our "glasses" pictures and post them at some point!

Whoops..........guess I owe you a text explaining....I could have sworn I told you what we are doing...hmmmmmm....guess not! And I am totally still stressing over our ADR's....I keep going back and forth on the DP....My main worry is that it isn't the best value for us....its going to be expensive ($1200, though I don't feel that is too expensive considering we are at Disney) for a week with four adults....but I can see us getting a great value out of it as well, and my mom did agree that that amount sounded about right for what she typically figures for a week long vacation with us...it's just that I have been booking everything for this trip so I know exactly how much it is costing :scared1::scared1::scared1: plus my mom has had some unexpected home repairs in the past month that is seriously crimping her cash flow...but at the same time I realize that Disney is somewhat $$$...I just can't seem to settle one way or the other...
