Two for One: Double Disney Birthdays! *Meg nonTR upd 9/23* // *Help out Katie! 10/22*

Alright, this is not a trip update for Katie or I...just a silly question that I wanted to throw out there due to a Facebook conversation that started with something I wrote on my friend's page. I call the grocery store carts, carriages. My friend is convinced that calling them "carriages" is a New England thing, or even just a Massachusetts thing. Is it? :confused3 I don't mean this to be offensive at all -- I'm genuinely curious. I call soda, tonic and I allegedly have a strong Boston accent, so you guys can all make fun of me if we all get to meet. :rotfl:

I call them shopping baskets or carts.....babies belong in carriages...LOL

The dessert at Tony's is so cute! I love the added touch of Lady & Tramp.

I tell you, those glasses never get old.....:rotfl2:

I'm glad you got a pic with the green army man. :thumbsup2
Very fun story about your Dad hiding the soldiers around the house.

It reminded me of when my DS got a 'stewie' (Family Guy tv show) doll. My DMom never cared for the show and hated that doll with a passion. We hid that doll for her to find in the freezer, her bed, in plants, in her bathroom, coffe maker...every where. She did laugh about it, but she never did become a fan of the show.
I havn't seen that doll in a very long time......I wonder what happened to him? :rotfl2:

I'm still not feeling 100% yet.....
I worked until 3pm today and then I left early.

Oh no MeMom, are you feeling badly too?
I hope you don't feel as bad as I do...

I laughed so hard at your response to my question because my friend said that she confused two people from out of state when she asked for their carriage -- they looked at her funny and said, "we don't have a baby." That's why I differentiate -- carts in stores are "carriages," and carriages for babies are "baby carriages." :lmao: It's so funny to me how different areas have different names for things!

Your mom probably hid the doll in the trash :rotfl: That's so funny that you guys hid it everywhere for her to find! My dad isn't a fan of dolls and my mom collected dolls for a while, and there was one that my dad in particular absolutely hated for some reason and called a troll. We hid it for him to find once. :rotfl2: What's funny is that I never had a problem with dolls and collected them for a short time as well, but now I can't stand them! They completely creep me out. I was in a toy store a couple of months ago with Charles and our friend and when Charles walked down an aisle with baby dolls (I was hovering at the end of the aisle because I was scared to walk down), they all were apparently motion-activated because they all started crying! :scared1: :lmao: It was so funny but I was so scared at the same time -- I was bent over laughing but afraid to move down the aisle. I've also developed an irrational fear of beetles in recent years, which is another thing I picked up from my dad. Weird, huh?

Katie is at Magic Kingdom right now! They were pulling up as Wishes was going on. She asked me to check the park hours if I had a chance, because someone gave them SM FPs for 12:30 AM and they thought the park was closing at 12, since that was what the paper guide Katie picked up on Saturday said. I checked and the DIS and the Disney World website with the park hours are giving different hours -- one says 12 and the other says 1. :confused3 Since they were given FPs for 12:30 AM, they are just going with the park closing at 1. I'm so excited for them having another night at MK. :cloud9:

Hi everyone! We are on our way out to the Braves game right now! We left MK at 1am last night! They changed the hours and it appears most people didn't know about it! The weather is great, 70s and breezy, so comfortable in jeans and sweatshirts...our family has snow at home! I'll try to post a BW pic tonight when we get in...Can't believe we got a Boardwalk view!!! It was a great surprise after being delayed and getting in so late! For anyone that knows the Boardwalk, our room is right above the word "Door" on the Screen Door shop!

I haven't been a very good live updater the past couple of days because I've been kind of crazy. So, here are the updates/pictures I've gotten from Katie!

She sent me this a little after 11:30 on Tuesday. They were at Wide World of Sports for the Braves vs. Marlins game. I am not sure who won but I hope it was her mom's team (the Braves.)

Katie and Patrick got up early to go to Epcot yesterday, and I remembered that it was St. Patrick's day. I asked her if WS was crazy and she said that the whole park was crazy. She sent me this to illustrate it:

She said that the line for SSE wrapped around both sides of the ball. I do know they got to ride Soarin' so that's all that matters, right?

She sent me this a little while later (while I was at work -- it was SO nice to get!)

They ate at Ohana last night. Katie texted me as I was going to the Outback with Charles and our friend and said that it was "fantasmic." :lmao: We both felt that Outback was close enough to Ohana. The Outback that we went to is part of a strip of stores, including the one that I work at, so we were walking down there so I could get some money to pay back my friend. We walked by a Hallmark store and my friend and I were oohing and ahhing over the Disney figurines, and I took a picture of a really cute Lady and the Tramp one and sent it to Katie. Charles didn't quite understand. He was like, "why are you sending her that if she's in Disney World and surrounded by it?" I said it was her favorite and you can never be surrounded by too much Disney. :teeth:

I haven't talked to Katie yet today so I'm not sure what their plans are but I'll update later tonight after work or tomorrow if I get any from her!

I just got a text from Katie. They are at AK and she said it's breezy and looks like it might rain, but they got to see lots of animals when they went on the safari. They are having dinner at Crystal Palace tonight and are going to see Fantasmic as well if there is no rain, so keep your fingers crossed that there will be no rain and they'll get to see the show!

Thanks for all the updates!

O'hana is my favorite! I can't wait til I can eat there again. I may order the famous Lapu Lapu that I hear so many rave about. I very very rarely drink any alcohol, I'm a little worried about how strong it is. I wouldn't want to make a fool of myself while I'm with my DMom & Lexi.

Outback is super yummy too! (they got rid of ours here and I miss that Bloomin Onion so much)

I can't wait for pics of her amazing boardwalk view!

I hope it doesn't rain on her. :goodvibes

In the trash is a very likely place....:rotfl2:

Baby dolls don't bother me but, I DO NOT LIKE CLOWN DOLLS! :scared1:

I'm fine with beetles, but SNAKES on the other hand..... :scared1:

Thanks for all the updates on Katie! Sounds like she is having a fantasmic ;) time except for those Epcot crowds!

Great update! I laughed when I read about how your dad hides green army men around the house -- Connor does that, too which makes me wonder if he will do it all his life. Love all the shots with the one your dad spotted -- so much fun!!!

I would have been the excited fangirl taking pics of POTC props, too! I adore those movies!

Trent said the clouds were really getting dark as he was driving from Tampa to Orlando. They are over at the Beach Club right now. I hope Katie got to see Fantasmic.

I really want to eat there! We always get the bloomin onion to share and never end up finishing it. Usually it's three people trying to finish it off and it just doesn't happen.

I hate clowns in any way, shape, or form. The live, walking, talking ones are the worst. I flipped out when I was at Fanuiel Hall in Boston last summer with Charles and our friend Courtney -- there's usually performers around that area but there were clowns doing face painting. Charles's dad works at Children's Hospital in Boston and has gotten stuck on an elevator with them before. :scared1: He is more irritated by them than anything because they don't break character and tell jokes the entire time. He also told me that some of the kids have "no clown" signs on their doors! I want one. :rotfl:

You and I are the opposite! I cannot stand beetles, I freak out, but snakes and reptiles are okay. Charles's brother has a bearded dragon (some kind of a lizard) and I LOVE it!

She is! She and Patrick made it to DHS not longer after rope drop today and TSM had a huge line, but they waited it out and I don't think they ended up waiting that long! She texted me when they were getting their glasses and I was really surprised that they were that close already.

I can imagine if my dad and Connor got to talk -- it would be all about Star Wars and green army men! It would be hilarious if Connor does do it all his life; I get a kick out of my dad doing it and I hope someone else can appreciate it if Connor continues to do it!

I was so excited about the props! I was telling Charles about it and he thought it was pretty cool, but he wasn't as excited as I was. :rotfl:

Trent said the clouds were really getting dark as he was driving from Tampa to Orlando. They are over at the Beach Club right now. I hope Katie got to see Fantasmic.

She sent me a picture of the castle yesterday and it showed the dark clouds. I don't think they ended up canceling Fantasmic, but they didn't go to see it, anyway, because it was really windy and they have experienced it in the wind before -- very very misty! I think it has been added to the list of things to do whenever we get to go together. ;)

Katie, Patrick, Kris and her mom ate at CP yesterday, and Katie said it was wonderful as always. She sent me this a little before 5 yesterday (I got it right when I was going on break at work!)

Check out those clouds...:scared1:

Katie was hoping to catch Fantasmic, and it didn't rain, but it was really windy, so they decided to skip it. Katie and Patrick made it to DHS this morning a little after rope drop. The line for TSM was really long, but they waited it out and I was impressed with how quickly they seemed to make it through! I got this while they were in line:

MrPotatoHead.jpg

I missed Mr. Potato Head the one and only time we rode it, because we had FPs. I'd seriously wait in line just to see him. She sent me a picture after the ride, too, but I'm not posting that because she should. popcorn::

Have a fabulous Friday! It is gorgeous here and I have the day off (A FRIDAY OFF! :dance3:), along with Charles, so I'm hoping to get out and about to take some pictures and enjoy the weather!

I uploaded the pictures I got from Katie yesterday. Their flight today leaves Orlando at 5:25 :( and they have a short layover in Baltimore again. Katie texted me this morning because she and Patrick went to MK to do some more shopping and say a final farewell. I got these from her yesterday.

She sent this to me with "EVIL!!!" That dreaded document. :sad2:

I love this ride!

ThreeCaballeros.jpg

The castle at night. :cloud9: I texted her back and said I could spend forever just watching the castle change colors. I'm pretty sure that they also watched Spectro last night.

I JUST got another picture from her but I don't have time to send and upload it because I'm rushing off to work. It was a Vinylmation that Patrick got -- a pirate! I at first thought it was hers and said I was proud of her and I loved that it was a pirate because she loves PotC. She said that it was actually Patrick's, but he said they could share. I was really excited to get that because we all know my fondness for Vinylmations. :rotfl:

I should be back later after work and will share if I get any more updates from Katie. I know they're going to get in pretty late tonight and I'm not sure if she and Patrick are heading back to their apartment when they get in or if they're going to spend the night at her mom's. Hopefully we'll get to hear from her tomorrow, and I'll get this moved to the trip report forums.

I always did love a mouse in uniform, but not quite so much when he's telling me I have to leave Disney World. :sad2:

Thanks for all of the updates. We were able to see tinkgurl last night as they traveled through Nashville. Wigd and Shocker are on their way back to Kansas. Lots of fun spring break trips to read about in the weeks ahead! :cool1:

I hate finding that on our door. :sad2: This past trip, my mom brought it in and I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep.

I saw the pictures! I'm so excited to read about all the trips and hear more about Katie's even though we were texting constantly. :rotfl: They are all going to keep me going till my next trip, whenever that is!

Moving to the Trip Report main section per request from OP. :) Let me know when you're all done, too! :goodvibes

Looks like a great trip - thanks so much for sharing. :thumbsup2

Gotta love AirTran's free wi-fi on flights this week!!! We will be landing in Rocherster soon and then heading to Wellsville. We are staying there tonight and heading to Buffalo tomorrow. Meg, you'll have to remind me what pic I sent you after Mr. P....I don't remember what it was! Have a great Sunday everyone! I'm not sure I'll be on tomorrow since I intend to crash when we get home tomorrow night....Our kitty is going to be happy to see us, but I suspect we will get snubbed. He hid from the sitter all week, but his food dish was always empty so our friend Aaron assumes either he's still alive and under the couch or we have a rodent problem :rotfl:

Just saw on Facebook that Wigd and Shocker got caught in a snowstorm going back to Kansas and have had to stop and get a hotel on the road home. Too bad they couldn't have stayed another night in a Disney resort instead. :sad2:

Travel safely, Katie. Catch up on your rest. We'll look forward to hearing about your fun whenever you are ready to get started. :)

The big scoreboard at the end of TSMM :rolleyes1

I loved "going" on your trip with you via pictures and texts! I'm so excited for us to go together at some point. Do cats usually snub their owners after they've been left alone for some time? We got into a kitty conversation last night and Charles went off about them again. :lmao: It's a good thing I'm allergic or I'd be even more sad about us never having a cat! I tried telling him once that I'm okay with cats as long as I wash my hands a lot (which isn't a lie; I really can pet and tolerate them if I'm careful), but he still said no. It's a good thing he loves dogs and "weird" pets like reptiles, and tolerates my fondness for cute, fluffy rodents. :rotfl2:
