Katie made it to Disney World! Their flight from Baltimore to Orlando was delayed because of the storms on the east coast. It isn't exactly storming here in Boston, but it is pouring and super windy, so I guess we're getting the effects. She texted me at 8:00 to let me know that they finally made it on to their plane, and they landed in Orlando a little before 10:30 PM. She texted me again just a couple of minutes before midnight and said they passed under the magic gates!!! I squealed a little bit when I read that text. I told her she could keep texting me as late as she wanted to, because working till 11 PM kills me in that I'm not ready for bed at a decent, normal time.

I'll post more updates as I get them!

I talked to Katie a little after 9 today, when she sent me a picture of the gorgeous view from their balcony at the Boardwalk Villas. I unfortunately don't have time to post the picture because after texting back and forth with her for a while, I promptly fell back asleep till 11 and have to work at 1. And I figured if she wants to share the picture of the view, this gives her the chance to.

I was really, really excited to get the picture from her -- it's still raining hard here, and the sky in her picture was completely cloudless. I'm not sure what their plans are for today and I'm heading off to work now, but if I get any updates at work I'll definitely post them. Have a super Sunday, guys!

Are the overlooking the creepy clown pool? I think I'd request to NOT be put overlooking that.

I hope they can meet, too! She (Wigd) seems so sweet. I started reading her last TR towards the end but never commented...I'm definitely going to join in on her next one. I'm so jealous that she is at the same resort as Katie!

I hope they get to meet up too! The weather looks perfect. The picture that she sent me this morning was so pretty -- it's still miserable and cold and raining here so I was so happy to see some pretty blue skies!

Katie texted me about 12:30, when I was getting ready for work, and said they were on their way to MK. She texted me a little after 3:30 with this:

They were at Tony's! I was really excited for her because she loves Lady and the Tramp and I know how excited she was to get to eat there. I don't know what the dessert is because I forgot to ask, but I loved the little Lady and Tramp on the plate. I haven't talked to her since but I'll update again when I do talk to her!

I did tell Katie after seeing her view that I wouldn't mind staying there if I didn't have to see the slide. If I couldn't bring myself to stay at the Boardwalk, I wouldn't mind staying at Beach Club instead.

It's open really late for the EMH, right? I want to be back there so badly already. I'm hoping I can go back with Katie sooner rather than later. I love MK at night. I remember walking down the nearly empty Main Street when we were there till 3 AM and seeing everything lit up and doing a little dance to the music.

That sounds so nice. I'd love to be able to watch Spectro from there.

I got this from Katie at about 11:30 last night:

I don't know why it uploads so small to Photobucket because it's a decent size on my computer. SpectroMagic is my very favorite Disney parade so I was really really happy to get that. MK was open late for EMH, so Katie and Patrick stayed there till about 2 AM. They rode a couple of rides and did some shopping on Main Street. She texted me this morning and said they were on their way to DHS! I told her to beat Patrick in TSM for me.

If I get any more updates from Katie I will post them. Its been raining nonstop since Friday (or maybe even Thursday -- I lost track ) so I might do an update for my trip today since I'd like to be back there and see some sunny skies and warm weather. Charles texted me last night with, "collecting 2 of every animal, bring 'em if you got 'em! I'm building an ark." He works at the gas station of my store so he gets to deal with all the weather, good and bad.

I'm used to not having trips planned for long-ish periods of time, but I'm really missing it there. I'm not sure when I'll be able to go with Katie but just knowing that I'll be going with her sometime is awesome. I actually started a little Disney fund for our trip because it helps knowing that I'm at least starting to save for a trip. Saving for a trip with a really special friend who "gets" Disney the same as I do is even better!

Katie texted me at 12:15. They're having Pizza Planet for lunch and then riding TSM! Kris tried out for American Idol but didn't get on. I have to give her a lot of credit because even if I could sing, I wouldn't even THINK about auditioning. They all did the Great Movie Ride, and Kris and Patrick rode Rockin' Rollercoaster. I love live updates.

Day 2 (Saturday, February 13) Part 2!

I'm trying to stretch out my part of the TR as long as possible, considering Katie just got there and I don't have another trip in the works yet. Plus I want us to be able to update about whenever we get to meet up again (which will be after this semester is over -- it's crazy, especially for Katie.)

Anyway, when I last left you, we had just acquired TSM FP's! We were really excited because this was going to be our first time ever riding it. We were a little bit concerned about the time, but knew we could just catch a bus after dinner from the GF back to DHS.

My dad really wanted to do the Backlot Tour, so we headed that way. I have really fond memories of watching Fantasia when I was younger, so I had to take a picture of the broom.

We got to the Backlot Tour, and when we first entered, I was super excited to see props from Pirates of the Caribbean!!! I LOVE PotC so I was the excited fangirl asking my family to please wait for me while I took a couple of pictures.

We had to wait for like two groups to go before we could we go. We JUST made it in -- I think the two people right behind me were the last ones in our group to get through. It was too cold to do the whole special effects thing with the audience members (all I could think of was when Trent and Jarvis volunteered and did it ), but they still set off the effects like the shots, fire, etc. We made it to the tram and hopped in. I love (mis)interpreting the warnings. I pointed to the right one and said to my mom, "Mom, no dancing." She pointed to the other one and said, "no dancing AND we have to hold hands."

My PotC fangirl came out to play again when I saw this. I want to rewatch the movies now.

The earful tower...

Pearl Harbor plane. I saw that movie in theaters (with my ex ), and cried so much. I don't know if I could stand to sit through it again.

And the big splashdown!

When we were on here, we could see and hear the stunt guys rehearsing for the LMA show. Although we didn't see it this day, my dad and Kailyn saw it one day, and my dad and I saw it another, and the guy driving the "hero" car (the red one) was from Boston!

We had acquired ToT FPs earlier in the day (I forget when -- this is why it's good to take notes.) I'm pretty sure it was when I put my KTTW card in the machine and it didn't come back out. Neither did a FP. I stood there for a second, and went, "Dad, it ate my card." The CM there was really nice and just ended up opening it up to retrieve my card and gave me a FP without making me put the card back in. Score!

We were on our way to ToT and coming up on TSM when all of a sudden my dad said, "Meg! Look! A green army man!" Side note: He LOVES green army men. When he and my mom were younger, like pre-kids, he used to hide them around their apartment so you would look up and see a green army man peering out from behind a clock, or standing over a door. There's actually a couple around our house right now. Like, over my bedroom door.

So my dad's going, "look! A green army man!" We were all looking farther up, closer to TSM, where we saw Sarge. I said, "oh, I see him! Up there!"

"No, THERE! LOOK!"

"I SEE HIM! He's right up there!" (I was getting annoyed -- clearly I saw him! )

"No, right there! Behind the tree! Right there!"

Yup, just a few (and I mean a few) feet away there was a green army man "hiding" behind a little tree. Whoops.

My dad wanted an action shot...

I wanted a picture, too. I think I was blushing after. He didn't talk, obviously, but he was so cute!

After meeting Mr. Green Army Man, we headed to ToT. My mom can't do ToT because the multiple ups and downs bother her, so my dad, Kailyn, and I all rode. My mom really likes the gift shop so she browsed in there while we rode. I LOVE the queue and the whole ride!

This is our crappy rednecked picture. We're in the very back row to the left. I was holding my hands up to my face like I was scared, Kailyn was making a face, and my dad was wearing the glasses. We ended up buying the picture so I promise I'll take a picture of it and post it!

After riding ToT, we headed back to the room to rest up a little before our dinner and going out for the rest of the night.

Up next -- dinner with a prince, a princess and some LOVELY ladies!

Good! I hope you start feeling better soon -- being sick on a break is never fun.

I was so excited that he remembered the glasses on ToT! I think this was the first time that we all ended up making a face. The green army men are awesome -- I especially love the bottoms of their boots!

I just texted Katie and she said that they are in line at ESPN for dinner, and they might go to MK or Epcot later for fireworks. She said she'd try to let me know where they end up later. I'm secretly hoping for MK because I love Wishes. She also told me that Boston made it on to the Florida news! It was something about sandbagging a T stop near Fenway Park so it wouldn't flood. I'm not entirely surprised because a lot of the stations on that particular line are pretty crappy. If it's the station I'm thinking it is, which is just down the street from Fenway, I can definitely see the need for the sandbags.
