Too funny... with you on that one. Even flew to Salt Lake City from Orlando to catch one of last tour dates. :o

Awesome. So apparently, there must be a connection between Bono and vampires.....

OK. I'm going to join you guys if I may.

My Twilight phase actually began with my purchase of the Amazon Kindle back in November. I received my Kindle the week before Thanksgiving and, lo and behold, the top selling Kindle books were the Twilight series. Since I'd been hearing about the movie, I thought, what the heck, I'll sample the first one (you can see a free chapter with the Kindle before you have to purchase the full text). I was hooked!

Between the coolness of the Kindle and the addicting nature of the books, I read the first two books in a week and am now half way through the third one.

I doubt that I'll get to see the movie until it comes out on DVD. Going with DH is out of the question and my best friend isn't interested. Silly people.

SSB?!!!! Cool.

Ok, so I have been looking around on Stephanie's website and read the leaked version of MS. I can understand why she's pissed, but is it true that she is not going forward with the Edwards point of view version??
UGH!

Good morning everybody!

Hey, I had a question-- is it just me, or is it kind of weird in the movie, the kiss scene, where Edward throws himself away from Bella... actually, it looks like he's blown backwards, not like he pushes himself away... but anyway, what is with the "Stop!" thing? I guess that's him? but it sounds like some disembodied voice. Is it just me, or does that sound really weird?

I didn't find it weird. Wasn't really expecting it, but not weird. Also, the voice is himself telling his body to stop.

sideshowbob those figures were just for last weekend...CP you got it pretty close...as of the weekend it was about 96mil and some change

Sorry, I should have noted... the first figure is just that weekend peiod, but the second is "total", the 119.71 million dollar one... they keep ongoing tally of in Variety as industry magazine so they are obsessed with standings, etc.

I posted about this a page or two back. I read something (can't remember where). It was an interview with Steph and she stated that she had little control about the press release. Several of her statements were taken out of context (like the part about killing all the Cullens). She has not taken the idea off the table, but just needs a break. I will see if I can find it.

Honestly, this may be good. On her website she stated that when she started writing she had no idea if the publisher would even pick it up because she can think of only one other book where this has been done before. Now that the fans have showed an overwhelmingly positive response, it may be the boost she needs once she gets over the anger over the leak.

I'm going to see it again tonight for the sixth time. I had one of those days today and I am in desperate need of my Twilight fix.

My stupid professor gave us a new syllabus with four major assignments today. The semester ends next Thursday! Then, I was so worked up about that I forgot to check my speed on campus and got a speeding ticket. I was going to wait until all my work was done to go again, but I need it so bad. So I will be going for a sixth time tonight.

Is that a record?

wow it took me 2 days to read twilight and NM...I stretched out Eclipse longer because it hadnt come out when I read them and at that time I wasnt sure about another book so I made sure and stretched it out...I tried really hard to stretch out BD and at first I did but once it got to the part where (next words are whited out)Bella was turnedI couldnt stop myself anymore and had to go gangbusters with it:rotfl:

Personally I think she will but I also think it will be awhile before she does...she wants to get away from the vampire stuff for awhile and concentrate on other subjects but she said that she was putting it on hold "indefinitely" right after the leak and I think she was speaking in hurt and anger so we have to just wait till its not so upsetting to her....

haha and I thought the 2nd figure was $119:lmao:

I've just got to jump in on this one. I picked up Twilight the weekend before the movie's release...curiosity got the better of me, & I had to see what the fuss was all about. I ended up reading the first two books that weekend, and the only reason it took me a week to finish the last two books was because I had papers to write. Some fellow students and I (all 30-something moms) are completely addicted. :) We're celebrating the end of finals with a trip to the movies, but I don't know that I won't reward myself with another viewing on my birthday in a few days.

So glad that I discovered Edward **swoon** and this thread. :)

You know, the one thing I'm really excited about for New Moon is the casting of Leah, because, well, I just love her. :p

Really? I'm more interested in seeing Seth. Leah I can take or leave.

I'm interested in seeing how they do the "hallucinations", especially during the cliff dive. I also want to see Volterra.

I think the birthday party scene will be really good too.

Yeah, I really love Leah so. But I am also excited about Seth's casting. And Volterra too, because I'm sure that scene will be amazing.

I found the Midnight Sun interview I was thinking of. It was an interview with EW. Here is what Stephenie had to say:

When you returned home after a grueling tour for Breaking Dawn, you discovered that your unfinished manuscript for Midnight Sun had leaked onto the Internet, and you released a statement saying you were permanently shelving the story. Do you still feel the same?
The funny thing about that statement is I didn't actually write the majority of it. I wrote about three single-spaced Word document pages of just real pain — with sort of a laugh on the end so everything was kind of tongue-in-cheek. And there were lawyerly people who thought it just wasn't a good way to do it. I didn't want to feel misrepresented in the letter and other people didn't want me to be too emotionally vulnerable. So in the end only the one or two sentences written by me seem really jarring, and people didn't get that there was sort of a joke in there. For example the part that's me is where I said, ''If I wrote it now everybody would end up dying.'' But that was a joke! And it sounded so serious amidst all the lawyer talk and I think my fans thought, Wow, she's threatening to kill everyone! [Laughing] I felt kind of bad about that. I never felt any anger, actually. Just a lot of sadness. I mean it was a sucker punch — like someone came up behind you and just hammered you in the kidneys and you had no idea it was coming.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Is Midnight Sun still dead to you, or can you see finishing and publishing it in the future?
STEPHENIE MEYER: It's really complicated, because everyone now is in the driver's seat, where they can make judgment calls. ''Well, I think this should happen, I think she should do this.'' I do not feel alone with the manuscript. And I cannot write when I don't feel alone. So my goal is to go for, like, I don't know, two years without ever hearing the words Midnight Sun. And once I'm pretty sure that everyone's forgotten about it, I think I'll be able to get to the place where I'm alone with it again. Then I'll be able to sneak in and work on it again.

Thanks for posting, I had never read that :thumbsup2

Listen, if Edward/R.Patt weren't so darn attractive, I don't think any of us would have a problem keeping our minds out of the gutter. Blame Edward/Robert! :rotfl:

AMEN!!!!:goodvibes

yeah right...you were just trying to make us think you are an ancient and hang with the Volturi:lmao:

Then who the heck are all these pale people I see all the time????

oh wait...it's winter in Canada...and here I thought Twilight had come to life

Two years??? OH NO!!! I liked Midnight Sun more than any of the other books so far!!! In fact, the whole time I was watching Twilight I was thinking about Midnight Sun (or at least what I had read) and what Edward was thinking!

Same here, I am now re reading both Twilight and Midnight Sun!! I really liked hearing Edward's side of thing. Obviously she is a little vamped out now, but omg can you imagine all the possible books that could come out of this "family"?!
