AND wouldn't it be very :cold: ??? Just wonderin' is all.

Kay, see, this is why I quoted that thing (several pages back on the old thread) from the very hilarious Cleolinda book recap that cracked me up so hard: (highlight to read) "So many things have—probably for the best—been left unaddressed here. I mean, was it like f***ing a popsicle? These are the questions I find myself asking."

Yeah, minds in the gutter. Just kind of hard to imagine; I can't stand cold hands on me, personally. :rotfl: Sorry, Edward.

I posted a reply to this on the last page (last post). It works in my mind, but then, I didn't give it any thought until you all brought it up.

Okay ladies- from Stephenie's own mouth (about the changing part). Highlight to read. This is from the BD FAQ:

Vampires are physically similar enough to their human origins to pass as humans under some circumstances (like cloudy days). There are many basic differences. They appear to have skin like ours, albeit very fair skin. The skin serves the same general purpose of protecting the body. However, the cells that make up their skin are not pliant like our cells, they are hard and reflective like crystal. A fluid similar to the venom in their mouths works as a lubricant between the cells, which makes movement possible (note: this fluid is very flammable). A fluid similar to the same venom lubricates their eyes so that their eyes can move easily in their sockets. (However, they don't produce tears because tears exist to protect the eye from damage, and nothing is going to be able to scratch a vampire's eye.) The lubricant-venom in the eyes and skin is not able to infect a human the way saliva-venom can. Similarly, throughout the vampire's body are many versions of venom-based fluids that retain a marked resemblance to the fluid that was replaced, and function in much the same way and toward the same purpose. Though there is no venom replacement that works precisely like blood, many of the functions of blood are carried on in some form. Also, the nervous system runs in a slightly different but heightened way. Some involuntary reactions, like breathing, continue (in that specific example because vampires use the scents in the air much more than we do, rather than out of a need for oxygen). Other involuntary reactions, like blinking, don't exist because there is no purpose for them. The normal reactions of arousal are still present in vampires, made possible by venom-related fluids that cause tissues to react similarly as they do to an influx of blood. Like with vampire skin—which looks similar to human skin and has the same basic function—fluids closely related to seminal fluids still exist in male vampires, which carry genetic information and are capable of bonding with a human ovum. This was not a known fact in the vampire world (outside of Joham's personal experimenting) before Nessie, because it's nearly impossible for a vampire to be that near a human and not kill her.

YES! Ok, Eeyore's Butterfly, that was awesome, I have never seen that info from Steph Meyer before. That answers lots of questions. Cool! Thank you! :worship:

You are quite welcome. If you got www.stepheniemeyer.com then click on Twilight, you will see links to the left for each book including Midnight Sun. For Twilight- Breaking Dawn there is a FAQ for each separate book that answers many of these questions.

Further reading cane be found at www.TwilightLexiconBlog.com If you click on the Lexicon and then click on Personal Correspondence you can find a lot of information about the Twilight World. My only complaint is that it is not organized into topic, only by the order in which it was written so it is hard to find answers to a specific question.

Hooray, a new home! I was worried I wouldn't be able to find you guys..

And yes, I did just get back from seeing Twilight for the forth time. I think I'm only going to allow myself one more time. I really need help.

And WOOW, you ladies have your minds in the gutter this evening! :rotfl:

We're counting how many people we "turned" into Twilighaholics... did I convert you or did you read just due to the hype?

My "maker" was one of my best friends. Currently I have brought 4 others over to the Twilight side. One is a 50 year old male co-worker who is married with 4 kids. He told me later that when his 15 year old daughter got in his car and heard him listening to Twilight she almost had a heart attack. :rotfl:
The others are also older co-workers of mine who just love it. Yay, the makee is now the maker!!! :woohoo:

I have the audiobooks but I still don't have paper copies and I don't think I can handle it much longer. It's so bad now that even when I go to the grocery store and see them sitting there I have to touch them all over. :rotfl2: My problem is I just can't decide between the new collector's edition of Twilight + the other 3 in some form or the 4 hard cover box set on Amazon! Twilight happens to be my fav so I kinda wanted that in all it's collector's glory...what's a girl to do??? :rolleyes1

Do both! I have the Collector's Edition which is for collecting only since I'm hard on books, and the boxed set from Amazon. With Amazon's price on the boxed set it is much cheaper to buy it that way.

A word of warning (learned the hard way): whatever you do get hard covers. They will be read often enough that this is a necessity. I made the mistake of buying the first book in paper back, after two read throughts the cover started looking shabby. It is now my lend out book and is going to fall apart any day now.

Did you know that when they make mass market paperbacks, the quality is specifically designed to hold up to only one reading? Most can handle quite a bit more than that, but they are not meant to be nearly as hardy as hardbacks. A girl in a class I took did her term project on bindings and we were all shcoked when we heard that.

I am happy to be in a coven with travelmel, but she doesn't get Edward all to herself! :sad2:

I have my own warm blooded Edward right here next to me. puckerup:

Seriously though, if I were any younger I'd be SMITTEN with that fine English Gent.. NOT to say that I can't be because I'm older than he is BUT I'm just saying.. that when I was a teen/tween those crush feelings were pretty powerful and he would have been on MAXIMUM VOLTAGE!

wow! gone one day and you ladies have a new 5 page thread already :rotfl2:

looking forward to another 250 page thread, we have a whole year to obsess over new moon :woohoo:

Ok, it's settled then!! I will just have to get both!

All I'm saying is start putting together the intervention now because once those books enter the house it's all over!!!

Mel...... were you being naughty???? I missed something.....:lmao:

They exposed me for what I really am! You'll have to go back and find it, I'll never tell! *sigh*

:sad2:

I'm in the first part of Chapter 20 and was thinking instead of Pachebel's Canon they could play a Trans Siberian Orchestra song called A Day Without Snow (I think that's the title.) It's so beautiful.

I love them!

If you close one eye and squint realllllly hard, they all look like Edward!!! :lmao: :lmao:

:lmao:

I have the audiobooks

Yes! Good idea, I need the audiobooks! Yes, yes, yes! Thanks for mentioning that. I'm going to put it on my Santa list ASAP. :santa:

but I still don't have paper copies and I don't think I can handle it much longer. I love your "To Do" list!

Can you get the Twilight Collectors on it's own then, since it's your favorite.. and then the box set of the hardbacks?

Thanks all for sharing your maker/makee/coven lists... Fun to share the madness, isn't it!

Thanks for posting, I had never read that :thumbsup2

And WOOW, you ladies have your minds in the gutter this evening! :rotfl:

Listen, if Edward/R.Patt weren't so darn attractive, I don't think any of us would have a problem keeping our minds out of the gutter. Blame Edward/Robert! :rotfl:

Really!! I want to know!! How can he "change" so to speak, and be able to get her pregnant??? Does that constitute a change? And it would so be cold!
I'm not knocking cold just because I haven't tried it. :cool1:

DH is so sweet! He just sent me a text and it is a picture of a big billboard in NYC of Twilight!! He knows how to make me smile!!:thumbsup2 Now if I could just figure out how to get that pic on here...:scratchin
