I just got back from my sixth time seeing it- after today it was exactly what i needed. Some things that have not been said:

-Anybody else notice the giant cross at the bottom of the stairs when Bella first enters the Cullen house? I'm assuming this is the cross that Carlisle's father carved. I do wish we had gotten Carlisle's story. I really wanted to see the painting of Carlisle with the Volturi.

-Bella doesn't eat meat in the movie. She has a Gardenburger, salads, etc. I find it ironic that she is a vegetarian in the movie (or at least eats like one) given what the future holds for her. I do wish they had shown her cooking for Charlie, it really underscores her role as a caretaker of both her parents.

-They never mention the Denali clan or the fact that that is where Laurent went. This becomes important in later books.

-I was wrong about the curtain, I'm not even sure it is a beaded curtain. However, something does move outside her window when she wakes up and there is a noise that sounds a lot like something very fast going out the curtain. He was definitely there!

I saw the cross too but didnt really connect it to anything except that maybe it was there for irony because doesnt Edward feel there is no after life for him?

So I had a thought tonight.... if you could change, add, take away ONE thing from each of any of the books.. what would it be?

I would probably add alot more detail to when Bella finally reunites with Edward in Italy... to me the book was just way to plain. ANyone else?

Honestly, I don't know. I love it the way it is!

I guess I would say: finish Midnight Sun! And do the other books from Edward's perspective. I'm especially interested in the last two books. We do have a snippet of Edward's perspective from New Moon, and we even get a taste of Rosalie's persepctive. Now that was interesting.

oh, and one more thing before I stop my crazed posting.
And then I will also promise to get my mind out of the gutter. ;)

Do ya think everything is sparkly????

Welcome Tonya!! And nope, you are not the only one. We just have gotten past the too old thing. He's over 18, fair game.

hehe..well actually the "edward" in the book is only 17....:confused3 ..... so he's jailbait....but a good kind of jail bait ..well not for me....but i'll share :lmao:

I just keep hoping I will wake up with feathers in my hair.......:lmao:
Man!!! I'm gone for a few minutes and these are the topics I miss?!?!?

Dang! I am so proud to be associated with this group, complete with minds in the gutter. At last, I've found a place where I belong!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

We're not the crazies.... the crazies are the people who haven't yet indulged in all things Twilight.

I realize Edward in the book is 17 but Rob in the movie is 22 so not jailbait for me. So actually you are jailbait for him then, if I understand you correctly.

Besides, I'm just saying that the character is over 100 yrs old and I'm not sure what he would see in a 17 yr old girl anyway, pretty wrong if you think about it. But that's ok, we must overlook in the sake of fantasy/romance and VAMPIRES for goodness sake!

you know they're just going to keep throwing money at her until she continues the series.

At least, I devoutly hope so. :rolleyes1

Ditto! I would worry that she is a one hit wonder and so the next book might not be that great... even though her hits are 4 books and a STRONG crack like following strong.... BUT I read The Host (
smileyAlien.gif
) and I can see that she is just natually talented and gifted (not a one hit wonder). This girl could definitely go book 5 in the series and hit another homerun, IMHO.

There really needs to be a 12 step program or a support group.

Yes, that's why you are here. The first step is admitting you have a problem! Welcome, to TA (chip design to follow, I'm sure)

I just keep hoping I will wake up with feathers in my hair.......:lmao:

Sure, but it'll probably be from my kids' Build-a-Bear. :sad2:

So I had a thought tonight.... if you could change, add, take away ONE thing from each of any of the books.. what would it be?

I seriously need to re-read the series. I will come back to this though!

Hey could we all say what our first names are? I feel like I am in a coffee house or book store with a great group of people here, but all I see are screen names!:lmao:

I will go first because I am lame..... My name is Amy, and I am a Fanpire/Twilighter/whatever Edward wants me to be!!! :thumbsup2

I don't know why I used Travelmel as I hate the name Mel (for me... cute for others, definitely)

I should have gone with Flo's CB moniker. 5 Edward Glowers to anybody who can name what Flo's CB/Trucker moniker was! I was only like 8 yrs old when I heard her say it but I've kept it in my memory all these years cause it cracked me up! :rotfl:

Flo, having her grits kissed since 1976

Anybody? Anybody??

P.S. You all can still call me Mel, it's ok ;)

Yer EVIL, Sunny. :rotfl:

My two older kids are in the other room playing the Wii, and they both just heard me laugh out loud and said, "WHAT, Mom?" "Uh, nothing."

I just get this mental image with a sound effect as the tropical sunlight on Isle Esme does its glitter thing: "Ting!"

*cough*

I keep picturing her as Kirsten Dunst in Interview With A Vampire.

eww thanks for that mental "ugly" picture...:rolleyes2 i so think they will screw that one up...btw...wanting your guys opinions...although it never said, how old do you guys think Jane is??? Im thinking like 15 or so...never got the impression she was an adult nor that she was Edward and Bellas age...and who do you think would make a good Jane...we already know melissa's opinion and it sux:rolleyes1

Do you feel the need to enforce certain "childless" rules, LYNN! Maybe you and Rob were meant to be!

me????:scared1: OH MY EDWARD:confused: first of all...I have a kid so that puts me out of the game and 2nd...at what point have you ever heard me say I wanted Rob???? let me help you with that one...NEVER:rotfl2: Im just trying to save all you crazy woman from disappointment as he will want my dd when he meets her..shes his age and childless (and I thank god every night for that one)

Oh..almost forgot..have you all seen this?

It pretty much sums up EXACTLY what I felt was missing from the movie.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the movie, but these few things really would have made it complete for me.

http://www.reelzchannel.com/article/780/10-critical-ways-the-twilight-movie-differs-from-the-book

BTW..one who shall remain nameless sent me a link to watch Twilight online today.:rolleyes1

The quality is AWFUL of course, and I did try really..REALLY hard not to look at it, but I admit..I caved.:guilty:

DH says don't be surprised if the FBI comes knocking on our door any day now. And he will TOTALLY let them take me away. He said that's the only way I'll quit buying movie tickets...4 times and counting!:rotfl2:

Seriously though..I did NOT know what it was! It was sent to me in a Myspace Bulletin!

Hello Vamp fans...
I think i have to join you..I am a rather newly acquainted Twilight-o-holic....I actually am still waiting for my friend to let me borrow Breaking Dawn ( i finished Eclipse on Thanksgiving).i know i know..a little behind the times..but trust me, i make up for my slowness with the amount of obsession!!! :)

Hey Gina! I didn't read back but there's another WFD thead member here too!

And I'd let you borrow my Breaking Dawn if I was closer..... cause us recipe-a-holics know how it is!

uh nope...shes 22...Rob is 22....she wants Rob:lmao:...oh and her bday was in Oct. too:)

teehee..well I guess we're good then. DD only has eyes for Edward..which suits me double!!:rotfl:

Not exactly any danger there..if ya know what I mean!!

Edward's like Santa Claus..you don't have to see him...you just have to believe in him!:lmao:

He does exist..he does exist..he does exist...;)

thats why hes the perfect man...unattainable *sigh*

Thanks for the article Brier Rose!

I agree with that whole list except for the addition of the nomadic attacks. Cinema is different from books. They needed to do that to underscore the seriousness of the threat. Not to mention the suddent appearance of the nomads would have appeared out of left field and felt a little too random in a two hour movie. That is one change that I was actually okay with.

I do agree about everything else though.
