Hiccup!
Now where did we leave off? Hiccup!
Ahhh, now I remember. Drinking around the world!!!!!
When we came out of Innoventions ( before we got the soft opening of SE) We noticed it had rained
..A LOT. And being smug we thought we are so lucky Then on our way to World Showcase, the skies opened up and let buckets of rain down.
So much for our smugness. Instead of walking over in the rain we decided on a Friendship Boat. Not long after we arrived , the rain stopped so we were smug once more.
We were trying our best to see all the storytellers around the world. On day 2 we had heard the Monkey King in China,
in Germany we heard Helga and the story of the Nutcracker,
and in Mexico we heard the story of the Posada.
So many choices of great drinks from great countries
..where to begin? How about Italy? Great choice, come along
Along the way , Deavon was craving one of the funnel cakes from the little booth in America. :
We can eat these anywhere at home but she had to have one. Of course we all sampled it.
In Italy I grabbed a Lemoncello:
I can not tell you how good this drink was! Mere words are not enough ! You simply must try one for yourself! BTW- Tony and I shared all drinks. We had our kids with us and had to be responsible. Otherwise he would not have gotten any of this!
Tony and the kids grabbed a spot to hear from La Befana , Italys Good Christmas Witch:
We didnt get a picture of the Big Guy with the kids. He and the Mrs were on their way out as we arrived but we did catch a quick shot of them:
After Italy it was almost time for the Japanese storyteller so away we went. We were a little early for the storyteller but we got there just in time to see Matsuriza.
It was 3 Japanese drummers and they were AWESOME! My kids really enjoyed this , maybe because they are both Band Geeks . I am a musical idiot and even I thought they were incredible. When the Drummers were done it was almost time for the storyteller but the skies were clouding up again. It was just drizzling a little when she came out to tell the story of the Daruma doll.
This was a very interesting story but it began to rain again so she finished before she told about the Japanese New Year.
We headed into the Japanese pavilion to avoid the rain and Deavon was immediately drawn to the Pick a Pearl area. She had just enough money left to buy one.:
She murdered a mussel just so she could have a 7 ½ mm pearl!
When we came out , the rain had stopped and we were off to Morocco for the story of Ramadan and Ashura with the Taaji.
After he finished ,out came MoRockin. The really do rock! Then out came the belly dancer
and I didnt think I would be able to pull Tony and Brandon away. She was Gorgeous!!! Brandon hadnt gotten any thing for his girlfriend get ( this girlfriend thing is another story ,maybe for the Community Board one day) so we went into the pavilion. He found a necklace that the beautiful CM wrote Brandons girlfriends name in Arabic. Then on the box she wrote I Love You in Arabic.
Then we were off to France. I was really looking forward to the drinks here! While Tony and the kids got a spot for Pere Noel :
I grabbed a Grey Goose Lemon Slush and an Orange Gran Mariner Slush for us to share.
Again we shared these other wise he wouldnt have gotten any of the orange one . Words cannot describe how good this frozen delectable treat was. You just have to try one yourself. The lemon was okay too but didnt compare. We shopped the pavilion. I have a personal training client that adores French Chocolate so I got a little for her. You may call it a juxtaposition me buying chocolate for a personal training client, I call it job security!
We really didnt drink that much but again we had to be responsible parents. I will return one day - either without the kids or when they are older-- and will have more to report.
Coming up next: Will Le Cellier be all I dreamed of or will it be Le cat food?
Will the Candle light Processional move me to tears or bore me to tears?
