One of the questions I left you pondering was if we thought it was Le Cellier is Le Cat Food.
Our ADR was for 4:10. We arrived about 4:00 and were seated right away in the Alberta section. The atmosphere was very nice and decorated beautifully for Christmas. The tables were a little close
but not unbearable in my opinion.
Our server took our drink orders ( and seemed to not like the fact that we were not ordering wine).
Deavon and Brandon both ordered Smoothies (covered by
DDP) while Tony and I ordered soda. The bread was brought as our appetizer orders were taken. She did not explain what the breads were. Lucky for me , I had studied on the Dis!
She also wanted us to place our entire order (not just appetizers) but we had only been sitting down for 2 minutes and weren’t ready. Again, she was polite but seemed miffed. Brandon, Tony and I ordered the cheese soup, Deavon ordered shrimp cocktail . Tony & I liked the soup. I didn’t think it was to die for but it was very good. Brandon…not so much.
He ate one bite and didn’t want any more. Deavon like the shrimp cocktail but then again ….what could be wrong with shrimp cocktail? When the appetizers were brought out she asked what we would like for our entrees. Our bread (except for the sourdough ) was gone and we had to ask for more pretzel bread.
Brandon ordered the salmon which he said was very good and he ate every bite.
Deavon ( hold your breath here ) ordered the shrimp pasta . She picked out the shrimp but ate little if any pasta. I’m not sure if she didn’t like it or if she just wasn’t hungry.
Tony ordered the mushroom filet.
He said it was the best steak he had ever eaten.
I ordered the Barbeque Filet. I could tell that the steak would have been very good. It was very tender and juicy. So why did they smother it in sauce?!?!?! Seriously, I tasted nothing other than BBQ sauce. Even the mashed potatoes were covered in it.
For dessert Brandon ordered the crème brulee . He really liked it.
Tony ordered the Chocolate Moose. He said it was very good.
I ordered the Chocolate Whiskey Cake. It was okay. It seemed a little Pepperidge Farm like. You know….something you could get in a box at a supermarket anywhere.
So to wrap up my opinion of Le Cellier…. It was definitely not Cat Food but it definitely did not live up to my expectations. One day I will learn to stop reading reviews of things I want to do at Disney . If I had not expected so much from this restaurant perhaps I would have felt better about it .
When we left the restaurant , outside was Nowell the Canadian lumberjack telling of holiday customs.
As we made our way to the UK we caught the very end of Father Christmas
Then it was time to think about lining up for the Candlelight Processional. It was close to 1 ½ hours until the show. From previous experience we knew that the kids would not stand still for that long and then would be ready to leave. Deavon really wanted to see the American Adventure so Tony waited in line while we went in. The show was to start in about 10 minutes which gave us time to listen to the story of Hanukah. I didn’t have a camera but it was just a lady , no costume. I had forgotten how long the show was so when it was over , we had to really rush to the CP. Tony had already gone in and saved seats.
One of the other questions I had left you with last update was whether the CP moved me to tears or bored me to tears.
Andie McDowell was our Narrator.
Some of her work!

I hate her because she is beautiful! Also , I didn’t really like her as a Narrator. She didn’t put anything into it . No infliction , No emotion.
The choir was very good
but the church we sometimes go to has an awesome choir and they sing many of the same arrangements just as well even if they are considerably smaller.
The orchestra was fabulous. We enjoyed that the most.
I would like to find the threads that I read that stated the CP was about 25 minutes in length. It was 45!!!!!I am very sorry if I offend anyone who really loves the CP but after 15 minutes I was ready to leave.
Yes it was beautiful and the music was great and yes I realized it was THE STORY but it was nothing that I hadn’t heard before or that moved me to tears.
Afterwards we went to Norway to hear Julenissen who was very mischievous and probably our favorite storyteller.
When in Norway you must ride Maelstrom so we did.
Sitting at the CP for that long made the kids realize how tired they were so they didn’t want to stay for Illuminations. We were out of the park by 9:00. Here are some pictures taken on our walk out:
Tony and Brandon noticed that Eliot Dyson was playing in Scat Cats when we arrived so they stayed there
He played great Jazz & Blues!
Deavon and I returned to our room.
We had another unexpected guest when we retuned:
Also I thought it was cute that Mousekeeping made a towlie for our toothbrushes!
Breaking News for tomorrow……..Keep on eye out for Tornados .
I don’t think we are in Ohio anymore!
