T'was the Night Before Christmas, Not an OUTLAW in Sight!..Updated 2/13

Oh LYNN! Lynn, where are you? Oh, here you are! ON PAGE 3!!!!:scared1: I'm not even on page three and my computers broken! Ok, bump over. Now I'll go read your update! I have one too BTW....:rolleyes1

great update and pics. I have never eaten there yet, but I would like to try it in September.

I love the towel animals.

It was a beautiful atmosphere! Very romantic  --If you don't have two teenagers with you!!!:upsidedow . Tony said the mushroom fillet was the best steak he has ever had ( not sure how many that really is?:confused3 ) so definately try that !
The towel animals were so cute! I've read where people were upset  if they didn't get any on their trips. We just thought it was an extra special touch but we surely wouldn't be mad if we didn't get them!
Hey Lynn.
great update. I love that you had pics for almost every single story teller. I have been to EPCOT a lot during the christmas season and had not seen many of these, so thank you.
As far as Le Cellier, we really loved it, but we don't get out much, so who knows?? CP is one of my fav things ever, but I can see how it's not for everyone. It's nice to hear others views and I thank you for sharing.

The storytellers were my favorite Christmas thing--other than maybe the castle lights, the Osbourne lights, the MVMCP--Oh who am kidding--I loved all of it! The storytellers were great though!
And we don't really get out alot either--If we go out for dinner it is usually Applebees or something similar. Maybe I just expected too much-or ordered the wrong thing!
I really enjoyed LeCelier when we were there, but I didn't think it was as wonderfull as alot of disers say. So I guess that means I agree with you!:)

I'm suprised Andie Mcdowell didn't do a very good job. I love her voice! Maybe she was as bored as you were?:rotfl:

I think next time we go to Le Cellier we will leave the kids at home so we can have a romantic dinner. Oh yea- and I'll order the mushroom fillet!
I was disappointed in Andie too! And she's so darn beautiful-enough to make you hate her!
Great update!!

I love that you saw all the storytellers around the world. That looks like a lot of fun. I wil have to try that when ds gets a bit older.

Those drinks look yummy.

Can't wait to read what is next:thumbsup2

Those drinks were yummy!

Wow, another update..

Great pics again!!

45 mins sounds a little too long for me too for the CP, 20 would be sufficient...

Sorry you did not have as great experience at Le Cellier you expected, since that place is hyped all over the disboards...maybe it was just an off night:goodvibes

Nice shots of you all leaving.....Like the one of you and your hubby, too cute:goodvibes

Hmmm...Tornados.....

Are you going to the "OTHER PARK" tomorrow:rotfl2:
I guess 20 minutes is really not long enough when telling THE STORY. I had read that somewhere however and was expecting to be out of there in under 30. I'm worse than the kids---"I could be rididng rides "!!!:rotfl:
Well Lynn, I'll be at LeCellier a week from tomorrow. We've eaten there before and I also don't quite understand the huge raves here on the boards but it's okay. I think, based on what you wrote, that
And really sorry to hear about your CP experience. When we went we had Jim Caveizel and it was right after Passion of the Christ came out in theaters. He was so emotional that he was crying as he did it. It was very powerful and moving. But I agree, if the reader was just kind of reading, it would be pretty boring. At least you didn't have to stand in line for 90 minutes and that poor Tony did it for you.

Love the new towel animal you got. I'd have to take that one home for sure a sit reminds me of my little doggies.

Can't wait to hear about the tornadoes.
Definately try the mushroom fillet! I was going to order that but Tony said he was going to so I ordered the BBQ thinking that we would share. He took one bite and said how good it was and I knew I wasn't getting any!:lmao:

Tony is the most wonderful man in the world! He always does stuff like that without even thinking twice!
But, Pakey, the towel animal was cute! :rotfl2:
:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao:
Thanks for another update Lynn! We've never been to LeCellier - would love to try it sometime but I agree that it is probably why more hyped up than necessary.

Love the pics of you and hubby!

Those are my favorite pictures from the trip! Thank you!

Heya! I enjoyed your latest installment! I was very interested in the Processional, becasue I missed it. That night I did the same as you - went to LeCellier, then I was supposed to go the Processional. I was so tired, that I didnt even stay for dessert. So I missed it!

Loved the photo pass pics! I have to remember to order mine! They are about to expire!
Wow!! That's tired. No matter how tired I am, I can handle dessert!
Oh LYNN! Lynn, where are you? Oh, here you are! ON PAGE 3!!!!:scared1: I'm not even on page three and my computers broken! Ok, bump over. Now I'll go read your update! I have one too BTW....:rolleyes1

They just like you more than me!!!
Plus , January is my busiest month. I am booked solid with training appointments. Never fear-February is around the corner . Everyone hides from me then!

The original plan did not include an allowance for any natural disasters such as a tornado

8:00am breakfast with Stitch at O’Hana.
th_lilo_stitch.gif

While breakfast with characters is great we can't be leisurely--
th_eating.gif

Magic Kingdom opens at 9:00am !
We have planned for the entire day here so it's all about the rides! Our only other day this trip was for MVMCP

The plan today:

Work the Fast passes as much as possible in order to ride every ride at least once!
Ambitious I know but here's the way I see it:
We will have just ate a big breakfast so we won't be hungry for lunch during lunchtime. Everyone else is eating - we are riding!
We skipped lunch and just grabbed a snack so we can eat a counter service dinner at an off time. Then while they are eating dinner - we will be riding!
We already saw the Christmas version of Wishes and we have seen the regular Wishes several times so while everyone else is watching the fireworks - we are riding!
We have seen Spectro several times so while everyone else is watching the parade- we will be riding!

Here is the way it really happened:
We had survived Hurricane Jeanne back in 2004
th_Hurricane_Jeanne.jpg

but I was not ready for a tornado at Disney!
th_tornado.gif
When the alarm went off at 6:30 however there were numerous tornado warnings all around Orlando! Even if there wasn’t going to be an actual tornado, I certainly wasn’t looking forward to a massive storm for the day I had planned at the Magic Kingdom!
th_no.gif

BUT that Disney Magic kicked in
th_thdisney2.jpg

and the bad weather all around seemed to miss us!

We were ready and on the bus to the MK @ 7:00 then we took the mono to the Poly.
What a beautiful resort! We had never visited here much less stayed here so we were impressed. It kind of reminded me of the Royal Pacific Resort we had stayed at for our trip to …um…that other park in Orlando.
Here are some pictures of the gingerbread designs in the lobby.:

We had arrived about 20 minutes early so they took our picture. This package was not part of the Photopass CD and was an additional $30. We passed! Call me cheap but after paying that much for the Photopass I wasn’t going to spend 1/3 that much again for two pictures!
Our table was ready right away and we were seated by a window with a beautiful view! Here is the picture our waiter took of our family:

417.jpg

The breakfast here is served family style. First was fresh fruit and an assortment of breads--delicious! Then out came a huge plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, home fries, biscuits. It was all very good. We are not a big “breakfast family” but it was all gone. Our server asked if we wanted more but if we ate one more bite we would have exploded! All the characters came around:

412.jpg

The kids love Lilo and Stitch-Brandon does a terrific impression although I’m not sure if Stitch appreciated it from this picture:

410.jpg

Breakfast was over in plenty of time for us to hop on the mono and go to the Magic Kingdom by opening!
Just like magic the skies had cleared . I’m glad my thoughts of the castle being swept up by a tornado and landing on top of the wicked witch would not come to fruition.
th_wicked_witch.jpg

Tour Guide Mike said that it wouldn’t be crowded at the MK today and boy was he-------RIGHT! We were nervous about going here on a Sunday but it all worked out beautifully!

All week it had been sunny and about 80 degrees. We were so lucky! We didn’t think it would last all week and after that storm blew in, the hot weather blew out. Still it was warmer than Ohio!

Being good Disers we know not to go right when the park opens. We headed to Adventureland and walked right onto Pirates. Man I love Johnny Depp
th_awe.gif
(even if he is audioanimatronic )! I try not to drool too much in front of Tony
th_droolsmiley.gif
but it takes a concerted effort!

We walked onto Jungle Cruise even though the person out front said we would have to wait while they cleared the river debris caused by the storms. The young man who led our cruise this time was really good. The first time on day 2 it was led by a grandma type that had a Wisconsin accent . It wasn’t very good for the cruise but it sure was fun to try to talk like that the rest of the day! Yaaaaa! Ya noooo!

Then we were off to Frontierland to ride BTMRR . We had remembered to bring our ponchos because we thought there might be a tornado. You certainly don’t want to get wet if you are suddenly caught in a tornado . Since it looked like the storms were past we used the ponchos for Splash Mountain. We got to ride it twice with no wait. Then off to Haunted Mansion
th_haunted_mansion.jpg

with no wait-have I mentioned how much we liked the refurb? I explained to the kids the story of when you too become a ghost during the ride and they thought that was cool!

Day 2 didn’t allow time for my favorite land---well …..they are all my favorite when I am in them. But I am talking about Fantasyland. I am probably the only one who loves Small World
th_itsasmallworld.jpg

and is proud of it! I was so disappointed when we went in 2004 and it was being refurbed.
th_crying-1.gif
So I made sure we got to ride it this trip! Everyone else acts like they ride it just for me but secretly , I think they like it too!
th_thsecret.gif

Then we rode Snow White, Peter Pan, Pooh, and did Philharmagic with little if any wait. Here is a picture of Flat Lynn wearing her crown.

453.jpg

We had been to every land except Tomorrowland and it wasn’t even Noon yet!

Up next: Why I will be driving my children around until they are 30 and our review of fine dining and even finer drinking!!!

Great update!!

Glad the storms passed you by and had great weather for your full day at Mk!!!

I love your animated graphics tony, they really make the story even better:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I love Ohanas.... In the pic with Mickey, do your kids have food in their mouth? Looks like they wanted to smile, but couldn't :rotfl:

Cute pics!!!

Sounds like you had great timing with all the rides....what a great day:thumbsup2

I love Brandon with Stitch!

YIKES to the storms, didn't see that coming in December??
Great update.

Yikes! Glad the weather turned out ok for you guys!

Love all the animations! :lmao:

Flat Lynn with the crown is great!

Sounds like you got to ride tons of rides and were at MK on a great day! Can't wait to hear about the rest of the day! :)

A tornado? Yikes, I'm glad the weather calmed down for you!

I've been thinking of doing Ohana's my next trip. I just can't decide breakfast or dinner.....................

I love Capt. Jack too!:lovestruc

Yes they had just taken a big bite when the head honcho came to our table! That's about the only time their mouths are shut!:lmao:
I love Brandon with Stitch!

Brandon is a huge Stitch fan. Last time we went Brandon wasn't nearly as cool as he is now;) and he bought these Stitch hands and ears towear around the parks. All the girls would point and stare and he just loved the attention. This year, he considered taking them but decided he was too cool.
YIKES to the storms, didn't see that coming in December??
Great update.

I had no idea there could be tornados in Florida in December!
Great update - Glad the weather was nice.

Me too! We had no time to spare for silly things like tornados!

We got to do so much more than we ever expected. Usually we go in September and it is really not crowded at all. We just assumed that at Christmas time it would be packed:confused3 . I guess some parents set better examples and don't take their kids out of school.:goodvibes

We have never done dinner at O'hanas so I cant give you any help deciding. I have read many reports though that the service and quality of dinner has steadily gone down.:confused3
Breakfast was great! We never felt rushed, maybe because it was family style. Our server was attentive, character interaction was good even though my kids are teenagers they all spent a little time with them. The food was really good.
Hope that helps!
great update.

:thanks:

Okay, Tony wants to know how you all liked the Andi McDowell youtube links he posted.

He of course fell out of the chair laughing at them :rotfl: and expected some props :woohoo: .

Hey Lynn! Good update. Looks like we got out of Orlando just in time! Glad the storms missed ya! I want to try O'Hanas on our next trip. Bumpin ya from pg 3 again. Now I'm off to do more bumpin. (Um, that doesn't sound right!:rotfl:) I look forward to a new installment when I get my computer back on THURSDAY!!!:cool1: Have a good week!:thumbsup2

I somehow missed the Andie Mcdowell videos, so I had to go back and look. They are pretty funny! I got a good chuckle from them! Thanks, tony!:thumbsup2

SORRY for the long delay! We've been so busy!
OK here we go...
You know how scary it is when your kids become driving age right? Well in the wonderful state of Ohio kids can get their temps when they are 15 ½ yrs old! Brandon will be 15 ½ in November this year.
th_scaredsmiley.gif
What better way to test his driving knowledge than on Tomorrowland Speedway !
He took off like a rocket…
th_RaceCarSmiley.gif
..
slammed on the brakes for no reason
th_shock.gif
….
taunted other drivers…
th_finger.jpg
Yea! he need to work on his finger technique! ..
couldn’t stay in his lane…bumped the car in front of him.
All in all I would say he will fit right in with all the other drivers on I-75!
th_crazy.gif

Deavon on the other hand tried to drive seriously ….and her results were fairly similar to Brandon’s! You know what they say about women drivers
(and she’s a blonde to boot!)
th_blonde.gif

I should mention that before driving we drank. Frozen drinks from the Minute Maid stand of course (t hey don’t sell alcohol in the MK!!!).
th_O_o.gif
Tony and I had frozen coffee and the kids had Lemonade slushies. Very Good!!!
After drinking and driving we were off to Carousel of Progress. I know it’s corny and dated but I love it. It’s a real piece of Walt right there for your viewing pleasure.
th_walt_sequence.gif

Then we rode Buzz . I always ask Brandon first what his score was and then I tell him mine was higher by about 1000. He used to believe me and get mad
th_1502.gif
…now I think he’s on to me.
We rode Space Mountain and the kids wanted to do Stitch.
th_yuck.gif
Tony and I opted out. Then it was off to Laugh Floor.
th_monstersinc.jpg

It is really cute but once or twice is enough per trip.
It was approaching 1:00 and even after that huge breakfast my tummy had a rumbly. Plus we still had counter service credits to use.
We had never eaten at Cosmic Rays so we thought we would give it a try. Apparently so did about 3,000 other people.
th_crowdsmiles.gif
The lines were very long but moved very quickly. There was no where inside to sit. I suppose I could lament about the people who were “saving tables” while the rest of their party stood in line. Meanwhile I’m standing with my food and no where to sit! Did I not notice how crowded it was when I chose this restaurant? Did I not stop to think that there might not be a table to sit at? Did I choose this restaurant anyway? You bet I did! (Can you tell that I think the saving tables threads are stupid?) Well poor us.
th_boohoo.gif
…no tables in a crowded restaurant. Whatever will we do? Go outside!
The kids got hamburgers and fries that they said were very good. Tony and I got chicken and ribs. They were not so good. The chicken had absolutely no flavor at all and the ribs were not much better.
th_gross.gif
Oh well, we can say we tried it and will know better next time.
We had done all of this by 2:00! We were really impressed by our accomplishment. So to pat ourselves on the back
th_patback.gif
we headed to Frontierland and rode BTMRR. We had never seen Country Bears in any of our trips so we thought we should. It was several minutes til the show so the kids wanted to do the shooting arcade:

They are dead eyes , I tell ya!
th_happy.gif

Now what can I say about the Country Bears? I’m sure at the time of it’s conception it was quite cutting edge. Now…not so much. And the violence and sex
th_shocked.gif
…I wanted to cover my kids ears!
At least we can say we have seen it.
Splash is more our style so we rode it twice and then BTMRR again.
We headed to Adventureland so I could get my jollies looking at Johnny Depp in POTC. It’s a good thing it’s dark in there or else Tony would see me all googly eyed at another man
th_lust.gif
..( even if he is animatronics).
Deavon insisted on Laugh Floor again--I think she was hoping to be picked on for the show--and she wasn’t.
It was getting dark outside and I love Tomorrowland at night:

430.jpg

Of course we had to get more pictures of our vacation home all decorated for Christmas:

431.jpg

By now it was almost 7:00 and there was a MVMCP tonight which meant they they were asking the rif-raf to leave.
Here is a picture of our parting view of the Magic Kingdom:

434.jpg

Originally we thought we might be commandos and go to Disney Studios to see Fantasmic tonight but the kids were not up for commando. So back to POFQ .
Normally strange creatures in my room frighten me , but his one was really cute:

435.jpg

We changed and headed to the pool and hot tub. There is nothing like sitting in scalding hot water with a group of strangers to ease tired muscles! After a couple of hours of bathing with people I didn’t know it was time to get packing.
Tony wanted to leave me to do the packing while he went to Scat Cats but I had other ideas. Instead he stayed for a little bit and then brought me back a drink to ease the pain of having to leave tomorrow.:

437.jpg

Along with a Guinness for himself.

It was really painful having to leave tomorrow so he went for another!

This was a really good drink! Vodka, Kahlua, Chocolate Liquor!! After two of these ( I did not share) I forgot all about tomorrow being the last day!
th_seidelen.gif

Stay tuned for the final day installment. Will you laugh, will you cry , or will you just be glad that it’s over?
th_end.gif

Woo-hoo Lynn. Any trip installment that ends with alcohol is a good one. And happy belated bd to you.

Oh yeah, and good luck with the teenage male driver. I feel that I should be able to wear a flashing neon sign that says I survived 3 of them!!!!

Hi Lynn - happy belated birthday! :bday:

Another great update - so sad that you are on your last day. :sad2:

Do you have your next trip planned yet?? ;)
