T'was the Night Before Christmas, Not an OUTLAW in Sight!..Updated 2/13

Ahh, a Monica follower are ya? Well, just to let you know, I'm nothing like her.....I am not crafty...I bought our t-shirts...When my kids were little , I bought autograph books....I didn't make my window clings ( I bought them!) :p You may call it lazy. I call it craft challenged!:lmao:

I call it the only way to do it.
:thumbsup2

Hey! You guys are making me sound like a DORK!!! I am home with my kids all day, homescholling. I need to do something that makes me feel productive and creative. You guys have jobs that do this for you! And I'm obsessed with Disney and my Photoshop program!

I just said I was craft challenged. If anything I am jealous that I am not talented enough to do those things myself. I would never make that sound dorky. I am obsessed in my own way, just not a creative way like you.:flower3:
Are we cool?

Great update.

That castle looks beautiful.

MVMCP sounds like a lot of fun and that is great you had little to no wait on all the rides and for all the parades and shows:thumbsup2

not a dork at all. I would love to be crafty like you. I just cannot do it. it would not look right.
I am about to order 3 t shirts from disney shopping because I have no idea how to make them and I want something personal for the P&PP we are going to.
so i am envious of your talents.
:worship:

Monica. Do you do shirts? I'm going to be in need of some shirts a year from now and I know I can't do them? Perhaps I can hire you. I have looked at the Disney shopping but I think my family (who I promised shirts to) are going to know that they were store-bought. I don't know why I opened my mouth and said I'd do shirts.

Lynn. Of course I'm still talking to you. I'm sure I'll have more gross food stories for you later on. I would hate to disappoint. But I'm not going to forget that you have seen the castle. There is some serious jealousy here.

Day 3

THIS was our starting plan!

Get up when we get up due to the lateness of MVMCP last night. Go to some of the other resorts to look at decorations and check out Downtown Disney. We want to go to Goofy's snack shop and make some snack that will fulfill every snacking desire. Also we really enjoy buying a box set of Disney Christmas ornaments every time we go.
Then off to MGM... Disney Studios... or whatever they are calling it these days.
We may or may not see the Holly Days parade at 3:00.
At 5:35 we have and ADR for 50's Prime Time Cafe.
Our touring plan includes:
Rock and roller coaster
Tower of Terror
Great Movie Ride
Osbourne Lights
Fantasmic

Anything else is a bonus.

That WAS our plan for Friday December 14th.

Today is a classic example of over planning. That’s right…I admit it. We tried to do too much !
th_shtf.gif
We fell into the trap of : “ We came here for Christmas and we are going to do EVERYTHING possible relating to a Disney Christmas.” If it had been just Tony and I , I have no doubt that we could have accomplished this . However, you know how obstinate teenagers can be.
th_teens.jpg

They insist on doing things like eating and sleeping.

The agreement was that the kids could sleep late…no alarms…since we were out late at the party. Why did on Earth did I say this?
Tony and I woke up at 9:00 . That already is late by Disney standards. So we got up and got ready , not really being quiet in the hopes that we would “accidentally “ wake them up. No luck. So
Tony went to the food court to get some beignets for breakfast and he let the door slam. STILL ASLEEP!!
BTW…none of us cared for the beignets. It was just square, fried dough covered in powdered sugar. I thought it would have been much better with a cherry or apple filling. By 10:00 I decided that they had slept enough so I turned the TV on. LOUD!
th_thtv2.gif
That did the trick!
After getting ready our plan was to take the boat to Downtown Disney
th_boat.gif
but after waiting for a few minutes we found out that the boat doesn’t start running until 11:00 so we opted for the bus
th_12_7_81.gif
arriving at DD by 11:00.
Here we are outside the Christmas Shop.

277.jpg

Then it was off to Goofy’s Candy Shop.
th_goofy.gif
I told you it was a sweet day! We used one snack credit each and it was so worth it! This was the best snack credit used all week hands down!
I got a chocolate filled oreo cookie covered in dark chocolate with chocolate chips and butterfinger with carmel drizzle!!!!!!

279.jpg

Brandon got a peanut butter filled oreo covered in white chocolate with sprinkles.

280.jpg

Tony and Deavon got an assortment of pretzel coverings.

FILE0047600x450.jpg

The cookies were too big to eat all at once so we ate about half and headed to the World of Disney. We had $120 in rewards to use from our Disney Visa.
The kids each chose a hoodie - about $45-50 each! There went those reward dollars!
th_bleh5.gif
We wanted to use the rest on a box set of ornaments which are sold at the Christmas store. We couldn’t resist and ate the rest of the cookie on the walk over.
Now surely my comedian son isn’t the only one to make this joke but…. We were looking for a bathroom when Brandon suddenly said “ Mom, I found it “ and he was pointing to Pooh’s Corner !
th_pooh.gif
Maybe he should stick to music.
After selecting our ornaments- The Nightmare Before Christmas box set--we caught a bus back to the resort so that we could go to Disney Studios. The bus to Riverside came first so we hopped on.
th_12_7_81.gif
We got off and then waited for the bus to MGM. And we waited….and waited…and waited.
th_impatient.gif
Finally after about 45 minutes it came and we were off. We arrived around 1:00.
Here is the tree outside the turnstiles:

Here is all the tinsel decorating tinsel town:

286.jpg

And now for the moment you have all been waiting for….The first photo with Flat Lynn!!!!!!!!!
Here we are wearing the hat:

287.jpg

Then we headed straight to R&RC
th_aerosmith.jpg
and got Fps for ToT. There was a 30 minute wait posted but it actually took about 15 then used the Fps for TOT
th_terror.jpg
and got Fps for R&RC.
Here is a picture of Brandon doing what he usually does at home-turning up the volume:

289.jpg

Here is Flat Lynn outside TOT. She forgot to have a Depends drawn on so she opted to wait with me while the others rode:

290.jpg

After ping ponging back and forth here we went to the Great Movie Ride. I love this attraction!

After GMR we went back to R&RC and used the Fps , rode TOT and got more Fps for R&RC. After being flung around in our limo coaster and dropped from our elevator so many times , we decided to move on.
We went to the Narnia “thing” for lack of a better word. It didn’t do much for me. In Brandon’s words..it is just a promotion for an upcoming film.
Next up was Star Tours. Here is Flat Lynn about to be crushed by an At-At. I really need to keep closer watch on her!

293.jpg

Then we went to the Muppets 3D .
th_muppets.jpg
It was cute the first couple of times I saw it but now I am over it.
Up next is our dinner at 50’s Prime Time Café. Will it be uneventful as many have reported it can be? Or will it be one of the highlights of our trip?

You really did pack alot into your day considering you got a late start!

I thought ds's joke about pooh corner was funny!:rotfl2:

Nice pictures Lynn! Love the flat lynn appearances! :)

The treats from Goofy's look awesome! I always forget to do that when I am there.

Can't wait for more - Happy New Year!!

I'm dying to hear about Prime Time with teenagers.

great update and pics. The waking techniques were hysterical. I hope I won't have to try any.
Can't wait to hear about PTC as I will be eating for my first time in a few weeks.

Great update and thank goodness Flat Lynn finally got some park time. I was so worried about her suffocating while she was ingored in your suitcase. I love the pic of her almost getting squished. I have to remember that shot for my upcoming trip where I'm taking my little lime-green haired figurine (whose name is Kurt, long story--maybe I'll do a trip report).

I also like that the pics of your kids early at the Christmas shop at DTD - doesn't make them look like they were happy and awake yet. Don't worry Lynn, by the time they reach 30 they will start getting up earlier (we still cannot get either DS28 or DS26 up in the morning on vacation).

I've never done the goofy treats but they look pretty good. Low calorie, right?

You sound just like me :rotfl:

Great update!! I loved the flat Lynn pictures. We have never been to Goofy's candy shop either :confused3. We have to change that next trip.

I have done the same things trying to get my teenager up. They can even tune us out while sleeping :sad2:. I can't wait to see how your family is at 50's Prime Time Cafe popcorn::.

We were really worried about crowds from some of the previous posting. Thankfully it was a different story our night!:yay:

If I can't hot glue something it doesn't get done. I once hot glued a pair of curtains to make a panel.:rolleyes1

Great idea! Monica could start a business from home for all the craft challenged people! Let's come up with a name for it and she won't be able to say no!

I highly recommend Goofys!

Stay tuned! It's coming up in the next post!

At home they wake up okay but I guess we wore them out at Disney!:confused3

I was under the impression that Disney removed calories from all their food. It's a magical place , right!

50's review coming up soon!
Great updates - Glad to see flat Lynn is enjoying herself in Disney

She has many trips planned- My boss is going to Belize and is taking her. My friend (who originally crafted her) is taking her on a cruise .

Stop chewing your nails,
th_nervoes.gif

I’ll let you know how it went at 50’s!
It was great! :cool1: Really one of the best times we had on the trip! I didn’t really want to eat here but the kids insisted. We went our first trip in 2001 and it was fairly uneventful.
th_shrug.gif
We went again 2005 and it was a lot more fun but I chalked that up to the fact that we were traveling with my two great nieces so our party was bigger and they seem to interact more with large groups.
I’m glad the kids insisted. Our server was Cindy and she was fabulous!
th_yay.gif
She got tired a lot and had to sit at the table.
th_winking.gif

295.jpg

Once her shoe was untied so Tony tied it for her. She kept asking if he had an older brother . He doesn’t but he told her he would tell his cousin about her and maybe …“when he gets out”
th_connie_jail.gif
he could give her a call!
Tony ordered onion rings for an appetizer:

297.jpg

They were what you would expect.
Brandon and I ordered the fried cheese. This was so very good

Deavon had the shrimp cocktail which you will notice as we progress is her favorite:

299.jpg

Brandon had the fried chicken. He said it was good:

300.jpg

Deavon had the meatloaf. She enjoyed the meatloaf and mashed potatoes but not so much the green beans so Cindy helped her a little:

304.jpg

Tony had the top sirlion. I had the pot roast. It was good but not exceptional.:confused3

We were definitely full after our meal so dessert wasn’t really important to us. Sorry..no pictures. I had the smore’s. Tony had an ice cream Sunday
th_iceceam.gif

the kids had milkshakes with their meal and didn’t want any thing... But they sure helped kill Tony's sunday!

At the table next to us. One lady had not eaten her vegetables but wanted dessert. Cindy brought her green beans covered in whipped cream with a cherry on top!
th_bellylaugh.gif

After dinner we went to...

318.jpg

This was absolutely beautiful!
th_awe.gif

305.jpg

319.jpg

Second only to the castle. I could have stayed here for hours but once again the kids insisted on moving on!
th_impatient.gif

So where do you think we went? ...R&RC and TOT of course!
After a couple of go rounds here they wanted to go back to the resort and swim.
th_18_4_1021.gif

Who can blame them…you can’t swim outside in Ohio in December.
When we got back to our room this was waiting for us :

th_what.gif

Cute , but it must have been a Mousekeeper in training. Even I could do that one!

The next riveting installment: Hopes, Dreams and Drinking around the World!

Great update!!!!

Didn't realize you had done an update, looking at your title:rolleyes1

Sorry, I had to go there.....I am easily amused:rotfl:

Seriously, I lvoe 50s Primetime..Wow..that was quite a mouthful of green beans:scared1: :lmao:

That is too funny they brought the lady at the next table the beans with whipped cream and cherry...

It is so great when you get a good waitress, it makes your experience so much more enjoyable:thumbsup2

Beautiful Pics of Osborne lights.....I too could stand there for hours just staring:goodvibes

Thanks for the update. I am looking forward to PTC. I will just eat everything.

The lights look goegeous.
