Tusker House Now 2 Credits for Lunch and Supper

I'm also hoping this is a glitch....we leave in 19 days and I don't want to change our schedule this close to time.

I wonder if this will start to become 2 credits after Thanksgiving then... Hmmm.. still not good for me since I'm going in Dec. At least the breakfasts remain as 1 credit...

If all the character meals went to 2 credits the dining plan i don't think the dining plan would be worth it anymore. I think they should leave it like it is they already raised the price enough for the dining plan

But when we made the reservation, we had to check off that little box that says we understand the terms or whatever and one of those terms is that it's a 1 credit meal. Wouldn't they have to stick to that for those of us who already made ADRs?

Really don't know, Disney covers themselves quite well, but the hope is that they would honor.

Also note on the Policies you agreed to it says, I think twice, "prices subject to change" and that would imply DDP too, so they could say you agreed to any potential changes.

It even includes the Hilton when discussing EMH, and the Hilton has not had those since 2015. Many parts of the website are way out of date and Disney needs to update them as they make changes.

We don't know what is happening, but it's no glitch, it was deliberately changed - glitches are things appearing and disappearing, jumps in spacial things across pages, etc - more broad issues. Selective pieces of code for selective meals/restaurants that kinda make sense = a purposeful changing of the code. Is it happening now, was it a test for later (don't know why you would test what you can easily do unless to test reaction), were they hacked ......?

We don't know WHY they did it. But what we do know is we now have to keep a close eye on DDP changes.

it was deliberately changed
You can't say with any authority that it was deliberate. I'd say it's much more likely that someone missed a comma when uploading a data update and some columns got shifted and the data update was corrupted. This kind of glitch happens all the time. Chef Mickey fell off the dining plan around this time last year. But it was just a glitch.

Well, that's subjective. If the price of the dining plan is still at the point where some people are coming out better buying it, then from Disney's viewpoint, the price is not high enough yet.

I am hoping this does not affect our trip in October. I added a TH breakfast ADR just in case though.

Well that is your opinion and I have mine. Whenever you go in and make any kind of changes to code the first thing you do is check your live version for accuracy, then you check it again after upload occurs to double check it is correct. The odds that these three particular restaurants, with varying meals changed the way they did ..... I don't believe is because someone added a comma somewhere. A comma is likely to affect spacial but to change a number from 1 to 2 ..... is more likely a human input.

Now this "glitch" is still there, almost 24 hours later ... easily fixed if its wrong. It could be it's supposed to be for only holiday times and the IT did not differentiate which is a mistake. But again, given all the calls they have received should have been fixed by now.

It really doesn't matter at all anyway, if it goes away Disney will yell "glitch" like they always do, but if it's legit they will have to figure out how good they will be to those already booked. This will now become an issue between DDP and Restaurant Managers. Disney's target market is all they are worried about right now and those guests won't care, they'll probably gobble it up thinking it must be really special.

If indeed these have changed to 2 dining credits does the op price usually increase as well?

Unknown right now, could go either way. IF ITS TRUE ... I think it depends on the goal. Is it to reduce demand? then you have to raise the price so OOP seems high OR is it to reduce the use of DDP there to maybe push DDP users to other less full restaurants while paying OOP there? Everything Disney does is strategic, so if this is true they have a purpose and we will have to wait and see.

This is absolutely true. I do this stuff for a living. A glitch tends to reach across a greater universe. Either 6 lines of a database got corrupted in a way where the number makes sense, or it was a human input. While I fully believe Disney's content workflow is terrible and things could be published without a lot of oversight, this is not the kind of change someone makes going rogue. Someone was directed to make this change.

Remember Early Morning Magic? It hit the website, it was reported, it was yanked down and Disney said "oh no no, just kidding!" then announced it a week later.

What gets me about this, if it IS true, is that those booked for a late breakfast will get in on lunch and will only use 1 credit, while those booking a few monutes later will use 2. I have a breakfast scheduled 15 minutes before lunch starts. I did this on purpose so I could enjoy both. I will end up eating mostly lunch foods, but it will cost me one less credit than the lunch crowd.

It is the same thing out of pocket.

If you book right before lunch time, you pay breakfast prices, but eat lunch food.

I'm not sure why it gets you, since you did it intentionally.

wondering about this too. I have 2 character meals booked OOP for November. according to the rumors we should be OK, one is a breakfast and one is Minnies Holiday Dine dinner which is not mentioned.

EXACTLY. Also done some coding work, and in five years never seen a number change itself to another so strategically due to a technology glitch or comma. Now the question is why was it changed? Time will tell.

If it's a glitch, why hasn't it been fixed at this point? I'm sure Disney has received numerous phone calls related to the supposed glitch by now.

Someone else posted this too, but if you look on the details of each of these three, they are listed as a part of the Disney Dining on Thanksgiving Day event. If you try and book on Thanksgiving Day, the entitlement is 2 credits, if you try a different day its only one!

there's no way it is a glitch - it is too directed at the highest demand character meals.

I believe that they did not intend to roll it out yet or that it is for holidays only or that it was a trial balloon to gauge reaction but a complete outright glitch? If that were the case I'd expect it to be on ALL meals or maybe all character meals but not just on the most popular ones.
