Tropical Dreams, Mermaid Food, and Wishes on Wheels Oh My! 1st PTR

One strep one virus so far in the house. The girly with strep has taken her first dose of antibiotics, and will be on them 10 days. She and I have Phantom of the Opera tickets for the Portland show in 4 days, so we've got fingers crossed.

Oh no that sucks! Hope they are feeling better soon
 Thank you sweet buddy *big hugs*
 Hello Sparkly Kitty!
Hello dear Marvin the Martian!
Been there. They eventually grow up.... but oddly enough still get sick.
But then you can just laugh at them.
lol
I would gladly trade you one whiny sick hubby for two sick children. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to inflict that on you. Hope they feel better soon!
on no dear I'm sorry he's sick- how are you?
Ugh. There's nothing worse in the world than a sick whiny hubby.
I should know. It's what my DW tells me.
;) :crazy2::rotfl:
Strep is the worst...and yeah...hubby's are big babies when sick lol Hope it passes quickly.
It is, I feel so badly for the poor thing. She's in an ultra fuzzy blanket though and attached to her phone at present lol. We're also having a lemon and asparagus risotto tonight so she's happy about that. How are you?

Joining in for the ride! We are going down in fall of 2016, and DF keeps looking at me crazy when I mention dismeets. I told him what your DH does, and he goes "now see that would be a fun meet". He's a comic book nut and has even gotten me into with all the movies out now. I know way too much Marvel knowledge lol.
Hello new friend! :welcome: I went and followed your PTR this morning, but have yet to read more than 1st post. I'll get caught up soon! Yay! I love comic book nuts! Tell your hubby to plan a trip to WDW July 2016 ;) we'll be there then! *giggles* Pete is a pretty cool human being, this is his website, though really he's a happening dude on Facebook instead lol http://www.artofpete.com! I'm off to check in on your report :hyper2: and get to know you!

Omg that is so awesome! I love the artwork pictures! DF is a HUGE Captian America. He literally brought home a coca cola Cap standee today they were going to throw away!

Usually takes 2-3 days before the drugs seem to kick in... so 4 days is do-able.
Good luck, though!

I'm finding that the proper treatment is a martini for me, and then we're both feeling better!

:lmao:

Lol, he'll be fine. Remember the scene from When Harry Met Sally, where Harry decides he's just going to stay home and moan? That's the current stage of our household. I'm finding that the proper treatment is a martini for me, and then we're both feeling better!
I've not seen that movie except for the...infamous scene! ;) a martini is a good coping device ;) *cheers* I'm drinking scotch on the rocks.

We just finished Guardians of the Galaxy and I'm a bit bummed to be out of Marvel movies.

So glad at least that Nebula is confirmed be back in the 2nd Guardians movie.

Today is my MoM's 2nd death day. I really don't know how to endure. Here is/was? her favorite song but she preferred the version in "the Stand" she was also a Stephen King and zombie fan. I love you mum and this day is yours.

Thinking of you today my lovely friend :grouphug: *massive hugs* :grouphug::hug:

Lots of hugs for you. This October will mark 10 years since buddy's mom passed from breast cancer. I can't say it gets easier, but it does get better if that makes sense.

Oh, man... You're mom sounds like she was so cool.
Thinking of you today, Rebecca.

Thinking of you too...I can't imagine. But your mom does sound cool. Are you talking about the Stand movie? That was the creepiest...I got nightmares about that for years if it's the one I'm thinking of....

You may be right I may be crazy...but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for.

That is kind of what this PTR seems to be turning into so why not just jump on the crazy train and admit something fairy blush worthy about how ridiculous (and utterly boring to others!) your plans have become...

It's tiny so you only make fun of me a small amount.

You see my husband NEEDS no REQUIRES the DDP or we don't go. Lol. For me I balk at it a bit as though we like a lot of different foods we eat small portions most of the time! He gets his way though and WDW is his only true relaxed vacation thus far, including Hawaii- but that was because of the cruise not the Islands. Keeping him a happy man means we do the DDP whether free or paid, it is reassurance to him, and that makes me happy too. I had to run the numbers though. I see so many people here on the DIS discussing the good and bad of the dining plan, I just had to know.
Well, I ran the numbers **, and while we would never have that many desserts, and will add an appetizer here and there, as well as copious-ermm occasional *wink wink* drinks we still come out okay. As of next year the Rascal will be 10 so we'll be 4 Disney Adults. Crazy. However, that kid can eat and likes a variety of food, so I feel it is a positive thing. Husband won the theoretical dining challenge and we have oodles of QS meals left!
**Every website said to go with the Peak Season pricing these are for 2015 July, if those are off oopsie doodle +20% tip not calculated !
Now we're a happy family Pete gets DDP, I don't balk at the cost, and the whole family will get to eat meals the way we like to eat. *smiles*

I love doing disney math (and I've never called it disney math before... thanks @lilpixiebabe101 ) I hate REGULAR math, though... but perhaps if regular math had been disney math, I'd be an accountant?

I do this for almost every trip... and have gone over it by about $500.00 on every trip (that F&W trip got a little out of hand and it was closer to $1000). OOps!

I hate regular math as well. I can't take the credit for FDM (Funny Disney Math) it came in from someone in planning back in 2011-2013 from someone somewhere. But it stuck! (And F&W dining can get very expensive very fast! And I'm going with a beer merchandiser/new beer fanatic this time. Send me pixie dust lol

Thank you sweetheart.

It does make sense, and I'm sorry for his loss.

She was a bit of a nut job my mother, but oh how I love her still. Thank you dear fellow *warm *
Thinking of you too...I can't imagine. But your mom does sound cool. Are you talking about the Stand movie? That was the creepiest...I got nightmares about that for years if it's the one I'm thinking of....
Yeppers Kathy my mom was a major Stephen King fan, especially of the books though.

I agree on thinking Disney Math is pretty cool- and also the hating any other kind of math. ;)

Totally understand this! Alcohol and tips get pretty pricey, but hey they work hard and we play hard at Disney! Oh by the way hi there! :wave2::jumping1:

Seeing your calculations makes me happy. :) WOW, $300+ in savings! :woohoo:

*waves* Hello friends! I'll respond later to messages, right now I've sick kids one I think with tonsillitis or strep -we just picked her up from a friend's house yesterday- and the Rascal may have bronchitis (I think). *le sigh* School just can't end fast enough this year.
Sending pixie dust your way! I hope everyone feels better soon!

She and I have Phantom of the Opera tickets for the Portland show in 4 days, so we've got fingers crossed.
I absolutely LOVE Phantom of the Opera, it's my favorite musical!! Hope you both enjoy the show!

Cutest thing ever. Gave me such a huge smile when I watched the movie. :teeth:

My mother lived with us for a year before her very advanced T-cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma was discovered. This was right after the 2nd round of chemo and was her favorite photo that I took of her. She loved lizards, Stephen King, zombies, her grandchildren, playing classical guitar, and Hawaii. She was going to go to Disney World with us before the cancer, and I think she was looking forward to it. We never made that trip, but her spirit will go with us. She is gone but will never be forgotten.

I love that movie reference. :) love the little family backstory. And yep your momma will always be there. You can cherish your memories and the memories she was able to make with your children. I think that's one of the hardest things about Stacey (buddy's mom) being gone. She always wanted a little girl, and Alexa has an exact heart shaped birth mark we swear Stacey put there. His dad and step mom hardly ever see them. 9 times out of time when asked to keep either girl they are "too busy" and I just know those girls would have been him momma's heart and soul. So cherish the good and happy memories and make new ones like you have planned in memory! :)

Haven't been to that one yet (Big Island and Oahu so far.)
But it's next on the list.
