Transferring in points???

I have 6 points that we banked from 05 that have to be used by March 31 of this year.

I want to give them to a person but because they are banked I can't give them away to her. Can she put her points into my account for the difference and then I make her reservation? Is this wise to do?

So many people helped me out when the Godparents messed up my vacation that I promised I would do the same if I could. The opportunity has presented itself and I want to give these points to this lady.

Help me understand how to help, please.

Yes, but I would call MS to be sure the desired reservation is available prior to doing the actual transfer, otherwise it may not work out, and the transfer would be wasted, since the points have to be used within the month. You also have to be withint the same use year, so if the other paerson has a February use year, they would already be in their 2007 use year, while you are still in the 2006 use year.

Remember that YOU would have to make the actual reservation, even though the other person is a DVC owner, since all the points would be in your account.

I hate to answer a question with a question....but if you have your friend transfer in, are you not able to transfer again for the rest of the year??.....Just trying to cover the bases, and i may be wrong, but that wad the only drawback to that plan i could think of

You are not able to transfer in or out for the rest of the use year. It is one transfer in or out, not both, per use year. The same with your friend's accounts, it would be their only transfer per use year.

You could borrow enough points from your next use year to add to that 8 points and make the reservation for her. Then you wouldn't have to worry about transferring.

We did it and I also got to pay back the kindness shown to me on this board.

I had the 6 points that would have expired on March 31. She transferred into my account the remaining points she needed, less my 6 and I made the reservation. We did this on a conference call and it was easy.

It made me feel great because everyone here was so good to me when the Godparents pulled out the rug from under me. She asked how much I wanted and I told to just do something nice for the next person in need.
