Planning on seeing it in IMAX 3D with some DIS'ers from the area. :3dglasses

:3dglasses DH saw your post and wished we lived in an area with more IMAX screens. Also, I wish we had a more "active" DISCommunity in the area. I guess if there isn't one, we could always create one ...

A good friend went to a screening and he LOVED it!! He said bring tissues!!

We went and saw Toy Story 3 yesterday it was great. popcorn:: The movie tied in very well with the first two. Definitely, some great emotional "tissue" times, never thought you good care for a toy so much, except when you start thinking of your favorite childhood toys.

As good as the other movies and in my opinion it is the best (as we got to see all three in a row). They did a great job of using new characters like Lotso.

We saw it at the El Capitan in Hollywood and what an awesome theatre. If you are in Southern California and have an opportunity to see it there it is worth it. The ticket and concession prices are very reasonable (compared to Canadian movie concessions at least). The Toy Story Fun Zone is total awesome the kids loved it and we spent an extra 1.5 hour after movie in the fun zone. It is set up in the Hollywood High School's football field, with great views from the ferris wheel.

This movie and the fun zone are ten (5 of us) big thumbs up from our family! :cheer2: :cool1:esz:woohoo: :woohoo:

I saw it last night, and boy, was it great! I was so happy at the end, it was just the most perfect ending ever!

Also, the opening scene is probably my favorite moment in cinema. That was really perfect! I saw it in 3D, and though it was pretty cool, especially the short Night and Day beforehand, if you don't particularly enjoy watching 3D films, you might as well save the money and see it in 2D if you can, in my opinion.

It was so good! I did cry a bit at the end. The kids loved it and DS keeps quoting Buzz and pretending to talk in spanish. ;)

Excellent movie. It could stand on it's own without the other 2. Take some Kleenex.

we are going saturday. if someone could help me here. dont get into detail, could someone just PM me and say yes or no if someone or all die at the end. they can blow up the world in an action movie but let a cartoon character or heaven forbid a dog gets killed in a movie and i am a mess. i cannot watch I am Legend or Old Yeller. dont tell anyone, i will look like a wuss:rotfl2:

my son saw it yesterday and said it was by far the best of the 3...
and he liked the first two a lot, so i guess it's really good!!

I just posted on another thread.......YES -- BRING TISSUES!! This movie was fantastic. Great way to end the series, but knowing that it makes it all the more emotional. Dagum it, I'm cryin' again..... ((sniff, sniffle, snort)). It wouldn't be so bad but I have an "Andy" - my oldest son just turned 18, he's starting college, and he still has his Woody and Buzz......pass the Kleenex again....

We loved the movie. I do agree that it can definitely stand on its own. Pixar did an excellent job with creating a great story again. I admit to a few tears myself. Loved the ending.

I was a bit surprised about Lotso.

I usually don't spring for the 3D IMAX shows, but I am so glad I did. First, it really added depth to the beautifully done animation. Second, it really cut down on the crowd. We had 10 am tickets. They were showing the regular version at 9:50 am and again right after 10 am. 9:50 was sold out and I think the other wasn't too far from selling out. Large summer camp groups were arriving. The teacher in me cringes because I know how hard it is to keep a large group of small kids quiet in a movie.

I just got home from seeing it and loved it's the best of the 3 got a bit choked up at the end seeing it all come to an end .I plan on seeing it again in IMAX 3d very soon :3dglasses

My whole family went to see Toy Story 3 today. We were all disappointed in it. There were more scary, intense moments in the movie than comedy. My DD who is seven was upset at times. The scariest parts come when the toys are trying to get out of the landfill/garbage machine.

I just don't understand the Disney writers and executives. I think they are forgetting their key audience for this movie and other animation ones. The key audience is kids ten and under with a huge following in the six and under crowd. Kids in this age group want to see funny shows. They love the corny jokes and silly situations. They are not really into adult humor or a heavy storyline.
Disney writers need to quit trying to please each other and other adults and focus on what little kids would like to see.

All the previews showed the comic elements of the show and none of the scary stuff. If you have seen the recent tv commercials for the show, you have seen all the funny stuff. It is really too bad that Disney once again chose to do a dark comedy instead of the light-hearted plain funny show. Why or why? My kids and I would just love to see a fun light-hearted show.

OUTSTANDING MOVIE! I'll be going back to see it. I was in a theater full of kids and adults and everyone walked out with a smile on their faces. There were cheers and applause repeatedly. It is definitely better than the other two!!! LOVED IT!

DH and I went to Toy Story 3 tonight. Bring Kleenex (especially if you've experienced a child leaving home for the 1st time). It makes you never want to get rid of a toy again! I agree with a previous poster about how it is a little darker than the 1st 2 movies. I would have liked a little more lightness, but definitely a keeper!
