Been a
DVC member for only a few years now SSR and BLT. We have stayed at Beach Club several times, Animal Kingdom Concierge, Disney Wonder, and recently SSR. In April will stay at our new home BLT in a Studio.
I have asked the mousekeeper for extra towels and have had no "issues" from them. We have traveled in Sept/Oct when it has been so humid NOTHING dries. It's the time when the cold air conditioning hits the balcony slider and causes fog and condensation due to the heat outside. We have laid towels and bathing suits outside in the early am and returned at 4:30 to shower for dinner and they are still as wet as when we left.
We shower in the AM before our day starts and then shower upon return from the parks to change and get dressed up. There are three of us. There is no way a plus size girl w/ long hair (me) and a daughter w/ hair to her tail-bone are going to get away w/ one towel per shower. I don't mind drying and reusing nor when we have a 1BDR w/ W & D to wash towels on the way out to dinner and dry them during the night. But when it is 90% humidity nothing dries very well in a cold air conditioned room. Studios have no W & D and the laundry is not free nor is it convenient to get to.
The year we stayed at AKV Concierge to be able to go on the Sunrise Safari we had a 1BR which happened to have handicapped access shower. It FLOODED the commode area out into the sink area EVERYTIME we showered. We had to put our used towels on the floor to sop up the flood.
I informed my mousekeeper and the concierge desk immediately. They brought us fresh towels, but did NOTHING about the daily Nile River experience nor did they offer to move us. When I returned home and contacted the hotel management NO note was ever sent to maintanence.
ISSUES THAT CAN BECOME SAFETY ISSUES SUCH AS THIS THAT DON'T GET ADDRESSED W/ A GUEST ARE MORE IMPORTANT TO ME THAN a towel.
As a DVC member I am more concerned about the stay we just had at SSR. Mousekeepping green trash bags in the hallways, clean linens in baskets outside of room doors, dirty linens piled outside of room doors, and no windows in the walkways/stairwells which invites insects everywhere. The insects were flying all over the hallways and at night the moths and mosquitos were hovering around the light fixtures. I would not want to stay there during a heavy love bug season. You probably have watch before you open and close your room door to ensure you don't get uninvited guests.
A slopppy or dirty looking location is more of a concern to me than a towel. Remember appearance is suppose to be everything with Disney and these things are poor.
I bought DVC timeshare because it is DISNEY; not points into a no name hole in the wall.
