I have a team dinner coming up at Paradiso 37 and I have to say this place has never really stood out to me as something I'd go out of my way for. But, since I'll be there anyway, I'm looking for opinions or suggestions on the menu from those who have dined there. The menu doesn't necessarily jump out at me and I never really hear anything about the place. Any thoughts on it?

Ate there once and both the food and service sucked. It's one of the only restaurants on WDW property where I would say the food is actually bad and not just mediocre. IMO there's a reason why no one really talks about it and why there are reservations always available.

Several things are a big turn off for me. By saying they want at Credit Card for a reservation is a huge red flag for me. When @Smugpugmug says reservations are always available that's an even bigger red flag. Seems they are trying to sound exclusive when they are not.

Second looking at the menu its a mish-mash that doesn't seem all that large, they appear to have 16 different 'entree' items between salads, entrees and burgers - not impressive and most seem to be just have regional names slapped on the. Sorry when I see Hawaiian Ribs and Honolulu Pork Sandwich and they toss on a Pineapple and "Hawaiian BBQ Sauce" I have to laugh - Had they said Kalua Pulled Pork with a side of Mac salad then... maybe.

Final straw for looking at their Drink menu and all the liquor is P37 brand, never heard of it and can't find any reference to who makes it, so again it's just them trying to look exclusive - one restraunt does not have their own premiuum rum - its a blend or the dump what ever is on sale in their "house bottle".

This would be a hard pass for me.

You answered your own question with team dinner...
Paradiso goes back to the days when now called DS restaurants catered to mostly Convention crowds. Both Terralina -was Portabella and the food was better IMO and Paddlefish - can't recall the old name both owned by the same name mainly catered to Conventions. Both were empty during the day and packed by night... Paddlefish had (may still) a top outdoor deck that amazing. Years ago My now wife and I met John Quinones and hung with him and some others going to many places ending at House of Blues. Really nice guy. My wife at the time arranged the event for the company she worked for. Was nice to take full expense paid trips before to make sure the places were up to standards including CR, GF and POLY and then for the event. Had a lot of short trips for a while to many places.
The point is they host mostly happy hour type events with a lot of drinks, Cigars if you pay and appetizers. Dinners happened elsewhere with usually smaller groups.

Eh.. I pretty much expected these answers lol.

Well, the choice is out of my control so I’ll go and make the best of it. :)
