I think the towel issue has been beaten to death.

The more important issue is if you take one of those little shampoo bottles home even if you did not use it!!!!

Nope don't take anything unopened, home with us.

IMO it's really a question of honesty and integrity, some have it and some don't. The real problem, which unfortunately is a reflection of society issues in general, is that people are willing to accept such issues as OK and that really is sad.

I'm on record as saying I don't think the current towel rules are ideal and definitely not best for studios, but they are reasonable and workable and they should be followed both by members and by those employed by our dues. On a related side note, anything a guide said was OK that is clearly in violation of the rules and legalities means nothing after that person knows it was wrong. I know it hurts when one made a major financial purchase based on incorrect info given by the guide but those are the breaks and that wrong info is NOT a license to violate those rules even in such a situation no matter how wronged one may feel.

:thumbsup2

I don't have a problem with someone asking housekeeping for a towel or taking one from and returning it to the pool. I don't agree with helping oneself to things on the housekeeping carts, whether it's an extra towel, a bottle of shampoo or bar of soap, a box of laundry detergent or whatever else is on those carts for housekeeping to use when cleaning the rooms. I can't imagine how housekeeping could get rooms cleaned efficiently if guests decided it was OK to raid the cart while the housekeeper wasn't looking.

:thumbsup2 exactly.

I knew when I read the title what the responses to this thread would be. It seems like every six months or so a towel thread pops up. You should ask if it's okay to stay in your room past 11 AM on departure day in your next thread.

Or if you can you use your refillable mugs for eternity!;)

After 15 pages of beating this topic to death, it has drifted off topic and is now being closed. Thanks all.
