I live right in the heart (3-4 miles from downtown) of number 23.
It was a lot worse here 10-15 years ago. Anyone see "Gangbanging in Little Rock" on HBO in the early 90s?
I didn't live here then, but it was pretty bad. There were crack houses about 2 blocks from my parents old house - which is only about 1 1/2 miles from where we are now.
We have gone there to see the Camden River Sharks baseball at the new beautiful stadium. DHs firm was the Engineer so we had excellent seats, although in that stadium every seat is a good seat.
Camden is also known to the world as the birthplace of Campbells soup!
Honestly, Camden rarely makes the news. With that said, I would not venture there at night.
Only 13th! I'm disappointed! I think we got hosed!
Memphis is much more dangerous than Birmingham!
Lets see: one hour from Little Rock, four from Birmingham and Jackson, five from St. Louis and New Orleans, and I live in a suburb of Memphis..which I think is the worst of all.
In Memphis, you can be in a good neighborhood or a bad neighborhood depending on which side of the car you get out on.

LOL! I thought that also. When I saw "Miami" I thought of you!! I would have guessed #2 also, but I was being kind saying in the top 5. You sure don't want to get lost in that city.
I go to work in number 7 every day. The crime in the area that I work in is less than other areas of the city, but there are complaints of stalking and if I left work after dark, I would want an escort.
Live in a suburb of #21 Dayton, OH. It's kind of getting better with minor league baseball and a nice market, but there are definitely rough neighborhoods surrounding downtown.
While leaving Dave in July, we took a wrong turn somewhere and ended up in the heart of Camden. Mind you, it's almost midnight!
We were pretty lost and then came 5 inches from being hit by another car. I don't know what we would have done if we had to get out of the car. It is definitely one of the more scarier experiences of my life.
After too long, we found our way out. You know we couldn't stop and ask for help!
