Top 25 Most Dangerous Cities 2004...Is there a city near you?

My DH works in downtown New Orleans.

We live in a suburb about 20 minutes away.

Would love to live somewhere else but probably not going to happen.

He has no problem working down there.

I wouldn't like it. I work 5 minutes from home and kids school.

Could make more money down there but not worth it.

#3, 'Lanta is about 2 1/2 hours from here.

RE: Birmingham. I feel much safer in Atlanta than I do Birmingham. I don't know why, could be I have more relatives in Birmingham than Atlanta.;)

Well, at least Detroit makes the news too ~ not just Auburn Hills, MI (as in The Palace "brawl" which has been on TV constantly!) I just returned from downtown Detroit ~ went to the Fox Theatre to see the Radio City Rockettes Christmas show....it was a nice show but it is very scary being downtown after dark. So sad to see all the boarded up buildings & graffiti but since it was very cold, didn't see anyone sitting in store alcoves with drinking out of paper bags this time.

I am about an hour away from the most dangerous. However, I am minutes away from the 2nd safest city and I live in the #10 safest city so Im doing pretty good!
