Took me 3 days to get SSR reservations

I had to reschedule our August SSR trip this week. And thinking that, "Hey, I WANT to stay at SSR, surely i will be able to move my dates. EVeryone says there's ALWAYS room at SSR and OKW". Well I'm here to tell you...WRONG!!!!
I canceled our original reservations on Monday and tried to rebook the end of this month...nothing available at SSR or OKW for more than 2 or 3 nights, we wanted 4 or 5 nights. BUT MS says there's a BWV studio garden/pool view and Boardwalk view available, plus a studio at Kidani std view. No says my DH, SSR or nothing and don't want to move around. Call again on Tuesday morning, still nothing at SSR or OKW, but BWV studios still available along with Kidani and now Jambo. No says my DH. SO this morning, finally, 4 nights at SSR requested Congress Park, celebrating our 35th anniversary and my DH is happy. AND yes, the BWV studios were still available, I asked...nothing at BLT, VWL, OKW and Jambo.

If you are looking for a BWV studio garden/pool view from 7/23 to 8/1, it was still there this morning as was the Boardwalk view from 7/27 to 8/1.

Congrats on your reservation and I too want to say congrats on your anniversary! I guess it's true all of the cliche's they say... patience is a virtue, hard work pays off...etc! Glad it worked out for you and you got what you wanted. Any special plans for your anniversary celebration? Illuminations cruise? Dinner reservations?

You need to realize that Disney, 60 days prior to any given date, takes the available rooms from the DVC and gives them to CRO. I am surprised that anything was available.

I have always been able to secure rooms right up to a few days before arrival but lately there are many sold out dates resort wide. Where Saratoga Springs has always been the 'overflow' resort (thank goodness, cause it is a terrific resort), lately this is not always the case. However, I've never experienced a sellout at SSR while rooms remain at alternate resorts.

Congrats on the anniversary!
We added on a night July 1st less than 5 days in advance last month. Had a choice of BLT, AKV, or OKW. No SSR then either. .

I called Monday for a one bedroom Aug 8-13. I had a choice of AKV Jambo savanna, BWV boardwalk, OKW or SSR I really doubt that all inventory is turned back to CRO completely---perhaps the situation is fluid, back and forth as needed.

Thank you all for the congrats! Nothing planned so far except the Summer Concert series. My DH is a really low key kind of guy. When given the choice of places to go, he chooses WDW or DLR. But we only live a hop, skip and jump from DLR, so he chose WDW over even Hawaii. We're attempting to squeeze this trip around his work deadlines and my father's surgery date.

We do plan on having our "formal" anniversary at Napa Rose at GCH at a later date, so WDW is for the alone time. We're just getting use to going without our DDs.
