LITC - Glad everything went well on the trip. It is much harder to take kids on trip then it ever was for the 2 of us to just get in the car and go. Ya have to bring along so much more stuff now.
How is baby Walter's weight doing?

Shmu - Thanks for the update on the Christmas shower. I got your PM. Have a wonderful vacation! :wave2: Say Hi to Kitty for us.

Has anyone been following the story of the flooding in the Phils?? Seems they received a month's worth of rain in a day. :eek:I saw it on the news and was wondering if Kitty's family has been affected. Hope they are all okay. It looks very scary there.

Okay...be honest with me. Do I give off some kind of anti-social vibe or something????:confused3 Or, does my invite just get lost in the mail??

Well, once again, it seems we've been left out. My MIL calls yesterday and talks with DH. She says they were in town from IL yesterday and got together w/ my BIL, his family, and other family members. They spent the day with them. Now my in-laws come up to WI very rarely and when they do, only come to see my BIL and other family because they live closer together (whereas we live 40 min outside the city). My DH was upset to learn that they continually come into town and fail to come see us and their grandchildren. We have told them many times they are invited to stay overnight here if its too late to drive back - but alas, they never do. :headache:

Now my DH and I are introvert type of people and rather shy. However, once we get comfortable with a people we can have a lot of fun. We also try very hard to "put ourselves out there" and be more social. Yet time and time again, we seem to be left out of family or friend gatherings. It's getting a little old. :sad1:

 to you! I think your in-laws and other family members should atleast give you an invite to these gatherings. If you choose not to go then that is up to you. How hard is it to pick up the phone and say "Hey D&D family, we're having a cookout/cookin because Ma and Pa are coming up." See, that was easy!

You'd think!

It sure is a new experience! I think I will wait awhile before our next trip!
Walter gets his next weight check next week, I'll keep you all posted!
Your family is making ME mad, you know you all are a part of our families!

Hey JOCA (OK if I shorten the name?) thanks for saving me!! Walter is amazing! He is sleeping right now, and occasionaly he gives a little sideways smile, it is so cute. I fall in love with him a bit more every day! How are things with you?

You sure can shorten my name since I shortened yours. :goodvibes

Babies are so amazing. I love those first little smiles. I swear I could feel my heart growing with each day since they were born.

Things are ok here. Busy packing while trying to keep up with everyday life. Sure does wear me out.

Yeah, it is werd how everyone is always telling you how your life will change but it really can't be explained until you experience it. I knew I would love him but didn't realize how much.
That's right I forgot you were moving. It's SUCH a task. My husband and I have moved like 8 times in the 10 years we've been married. I swear we could be movers.

You are right, you never know how it is untel you experience it. And even after 4 kids, they still amaze me. Everyday really does bring a new adventure.

This will be our first move in 10 years. Until now, I never realized how much stuff we've accumulated over the years.

You are right, I don't want to miss a second of his life! I'm absolutely loving it! And I love being a part of this board, there is always someone to ask advice!

I think this thread is wonderful. It is just so strange how everyone has bonded and we really do feel like family. LITC, I think your reply was right on. I cannot imagine leaving D&D out when the family gets together. Maybe everyone can't go but you at least ask!

I noticed that about this thread. Everyone is always so nice. It sure is a nice change from other chat boards that I've come across.

Can I ask about your son's name? Is it a family name? I never got to name a boy and I am always curious about how other's came up with their son's name.

Is Walter sleeping good at night? I've never had any children but I do love to just watch their little expressions. You just wonder what is going through that little mind. And aren't they adorable when they are making noises and think they are talking and you should understand them?

M&N, I completely agree. I look forward to being able to read and post on this thread as though I was catching up with my oldest dearest friends! And we would never ever leave anyone out here!

No Walter is not a family name, not long after my sisters youngest was born (about 3 1/2 years ago) a few of us were sitting around discussing names and the name Walter came up and I said to my husband You'll probably think I'm nuts since that is an older name but I really like it, and he said I like it too. So I guess it just kind of hung around in the back of our minds until we had a boy!

We did not get as much rain as I thought we would today but it sure got cooler. I'll have to dig out the longsleeved gown for tonight I think. I do like the cooler weather for the most part. I went out to eat tonight and we did eat outside. The sun was out but it was getting windy when we left.

I posted a very intersting post about the weather but it seems stuck in space...so I opened another window. I've refreshed the post 2 times. I did not copy it because it's really not important so I won't retype weather junk!
I'll try and see if this posts...

Not quite yet. He slept 4 hours in a row like two nights, but last night wasn't quite as good. But I am holding out hope! I am always wondering what is going through his mind! He makes allot of faces now, and he "squeaks" allot. My husband and I tease each other that he is learning squirrel, like in emporers new groove! He also makes this REALLY cute sighing noise after he sneezes, that is to die for!

LITC, I really like Walter too. It is classic and to me it gives off a vibe of someone who is reliable and steadfast. Very much someone that you can count on in your time of need.

M&N, being able to decipher their little noises is so neat. And when they get a little older, you get to translate their gibberish. It, for me, created this kind of secret bond with my kids.
