Orlando a Top 4 Food Destination

What do you think, valid ranking or not?

I would give it a little bit of side eye due to the fact that it’s TripAdvisor, because I feel that the people going to Michelin award winning restaurants are less likely to post on their site. I do think Orlando’s culinary landscape has improved a lot over the years, particularly if you get away from the theme parks. But listing Pirates Dinner Adventure as one of the top foodie experiences? That alone tells me the list is not as comprehensive as it should be.

That is weird that they choose to highlight that on a supposed foodie list. Never been though, so maybe the food is amazing! :P

Somewhat distrustful of this "news" story. Yes, there are some really good restaurants in Orlando. Just don't think you'll find them at WDW. Well, perhaps V&A would qualify. Maybe one of the restaurants at the Four Seasons. And our favorite steak house Bull & Bear at the Waldorf Astoria.

I don’t use TripAdvisor to read restaurant reviews 🤷🏽‍♀️
I don't either. Always found yelp had more reviews and it's easier for a quick check. That being said, I worked with a guy years ago who only used TA to pick restaurants, he said they had more trustworthy and serious reviewers. As you said...🤷‍♂️

Could be. Pirates is one of the last of the tourist dinner shows left in Orlando. I used to work for a company who was a ticket reseller and Pirates was one of the tickets we sold. It was far from the most popular ticket purchased.

What I find interesting is that going to TA and looking at the rating right now, Pirates only gets a 3.5 out of 5. I would have expected something above a 4 at least for it to be a top choice, although they are rated 22 out of 81 in their category . . . which is theater and concerts, not restaurants.

Not reading the article, but I am skeptical as well. I can easily think of more than four cities with more and better food options than Orlando (NYC, Vegas, Miami (and surrounding area), Phoenix (and surrounding area), Chicago, New Orleans). I don't think Orlando is even top ten. Its lucky to even be top four in Florida (Miami, Tampa, Amelia Island)

I think it's just because a lot of tourists go there for the theme parks, they have good meals, and vote for it. Stuff like this is never "accurate" - it's just highlighting what is good. I certainly think there are food destinations in the US, but if you've never been to them, then what are you going to vote for? Olrando does the volume.

So maybe this is a poorly written AI article based on a poorly researched AI ranking. lol

And AI does not eat...except for energy which I assume does not have much of a flavor profile.

Right, but it probably just culls from what it sees, and Orlando probably just gets tons of reviews. I still believe it's a volume thing. I certainly would not put Orlando in my top 4 food destinations.

Yep. It's just really odd that they would highlight two of the least reviewed places in that article. Unless its actually paid advertising?!?!?
