Hi gang!

I have been up in New Haven, CT for a couple days visiting my DNiece to surprise her for her 15th bday. We had a great time. I love hanging out with my family!

OMG last night when we were driving the girls back to the dorms (they are at camp at Yale), we saw several big groups of kids. Apparently it was dance club night and they were all headed out to the local club. (must have a teen night or something, since these are HS kids). Well, you would not believe the outfits on these girls! I have seen street walkers wearing more clothes! I am talking skin tight micro minis, thigh high boots or stiletto heels, and skin tight tops with nothing left to the imagination!! DSis and DBro and I were just mortified! The girls both said "its slut night!" Apparently all the girls there are easy, no one on my 16 yo niece's floor is a virgin except her, and all they talk about is s*x!!! What on earth is wrong with these people?!?!?!

OK, off my soapbox, time for the color poll...

OK---the colors.....hot hot pink, purple haze, electric banana, after midnight blue, vampire red, (electric lizard highlights and flaming red highlights).

Unfortunately, there are less and less people on your soapbox! Yeah for your niece! I'm sure it is not easy being a teen nowdays...peer pressure...hopefully she has friends at home who are like minded.

Wendy, I feel the same way about how young girls dress. How can their parents not care? I am so thankful that oldest DD does not like to dress like that. She only has one pair of short shorts but they still reach her finger tips. Otherwise, she likes to wear capris. And so far, she doesn't seem to care too much about how others are dressing. She's got her own mind that for sure.

Sukie, I love your reasoning behind the hair color for me and DH. Are you getting excited for your cruise?

D&D, maybe you can convince your DH that our hair color is just a figment of his imagination.

M&N, did you see Truex is leaving DEI after this season? It makes me kind of sad to see what has become of DEI.

I saw Truex will go with Waltrip. We all know DEI would not be in the fix it is in if Sr was still here. I also saw on Jayski that Taylor raced in some kind of race driving a #3.

Hi everyone, glad to see I didn't end up in anybodys siggie yet! Been unbelievably tired the last two weeks or so. Which I guess isn't really abnormal, but I hate feeling like I can't wake up! Been reading along with everyones news, just not posting to much. Can't believe you all get to go to Hershey so soon! I have never been. Maybe if you all have a blast, it will become a tradition!

M&N, things in Turkey are MUCH more conservative than here. They dont even wear bright colors! No one over there (at least not in HS) would ever dream of dressing like that. They wear uniforms to school, and dress much more modestly than here. So yes, their friends are like they are.. My goodness, my almost 17 yo niece has had a boyfriend for 3 years, and it was only last summer when she turned 16 that she even let him kiss her!

racetrack thank heavens for modest daughters! DD is happiest in long shorts (almost to the knee) or capris, with a loose fitting Tshirt or a golf shirt. she hates dresses, and wouldnt be caught dead in anything tight or super short. Sometimes the tomboy look makes me nuts, but it is far preferable to the street walker look!

Racer---for some reason, that Hershey bar is calling to me tonight! I keep telling myself NO! I do have some chocolate in the frig but it's too late for me to eat it. Won't be able to sleep. I'm going to have some cherry cheesecake yogurt. It'll just have to do I guess...

LITC, I was wondering how you were doing. You might be feeling tired now but use that time to get all the sleep you can. Things will change soon enough and you'll be wishing for the sleep.

When the Hershey meet becomes a tradition, you will have to make the trip out.

M&N, I can just imagine Sr shaking his head about what his company has become. I saw that Taylor had raced but I don't remember what.

Wendy, DD owns exactly one dress. She just isn't comfortable in them and never really was. And I'm with you, I'll take the tomboy look any day over what too many girls wear now.

Hey there M&N! I promise I will try to stop in more often, at least to leave an update. I did have a dr appt. this past Monday and she said that the last ultrasound (to check on the kidney) camed back clear!! They will still keep an eye on it, but I feel even better now! Other than that everything is really same ol' (unless you count my ever expanding tummy!!!) But I think it looks cute!

Wendy-I remember when I went on a cruise before I was married, there were so many warnings about making sure you were "covered" when you left the boat, as other countries will actually treat you with hostility if you dress llike the typical american streetwalker.

Hey Race, I am trying to get as much rest as possible, I can't believe in a few months, my entire life will change forever--including my sleep pattern!

I agree M&N, I have been craving chocolate all night, and I really need to get to the grocery store, we have almost nothing in the house, don't you hate when that happens?

Yum...had a WW amaretto cheesecake yogurt. Never had that flavor. I should have gotten more of it. It tastes like I'm really having a dessert. I just saw it today. I like the Boston Cream pie too. Gotta trick the taste buds!

TLC had a show on about bring home babies. The parents had the cutest little boy-Jackson. They said how much their lives changed in all aspects. I don't think I would have minded being a mom if they just didn't cry so much. I need to know what the matter is and crying doesn't cut it. I know you moms will say there's different kinds of crying but if I had a little one who was sick and crying...I just don't think I could have handled it. I think that's why God has not blessed me that way. I can hand the little ones back to mommie when the tears start.

I didn't think I could handle being a mom either until it happened. And you really do learn what the different cries are.
