Not sure why the last one is so huge. My photobucket account is wierd. I resized it but it's still big??

Cantwaittoseemickey-- How did you get the Mickey heads to glow in the dark on these??

Has anyone done shirts with pockets?? I'm thinking about putting just a small Mickey head on the pocket itself and then dying the rest of it. Anyone tried this?? Thoughts?? Ideas??

My father will only wear t-shirts with pockets, so when we did shirts for our huge group last year we did his on pocketed shirts. We tried it both ways - doing a small mickey on the pocket and doing a large mickey in the middle that ran over the pocket. (The large mickey we couldn't sew because of the pocket, so we dyed the shirt and then just drew a mickey on with the bleach pen.)

I only have a pictures of our first batch attempt...

We were using the RIT dye (we needed a cheap option because we were dying shirts for 19 people for 8 days) and our first batch of the red turned out really pale in some of the shirts. We had a second session where we used a more concentrated batch of red dye and those shirts turned out much better. I never took pics of them though. The small mickey head turned out better on the second try as well. It takes some practice getting the small head to come out right.

Hope this helps you!

I have tried one using the big Mickey head running over the pocket. It actually turned out well. I am going to attempt the small Mickey head today, so when I'm done I'll post pictures of them. I've got 16 shirts to get done by Friday, so...off I go!! Wish me luck!! I may need several volunteers to keep their fingers crossed too!! :rotfl:

after Halloween in Walmart they had Tye Dye Kits for 75% off...I grabbed 2 sets so that I could do this.......AWESOME, hands on instructions is what i needed.......the only thing is the sewing...ARGHHH, cant sew, but ill figure it out! Also realized i cannot do this alone and that its a BIG mess.....

we leave in 2 months, so I need to start rounding up tee shirts and maybe practice on one first! :lmao:

I'm loving these, but honestly I don't understand the directions at all. What do you sew? What is the thing you sew on it? Plus I have no clue what basting is? LOL!

So my question is, is there anywhere where I can buy these...using colors of my choice?

On the blue and green shirt, how do you get the colors in thinner lines? Does it depends on how many pieces of pie you have? Do you color each piece a separate color? I hope I'm asking this right?

I love these but I'm just a tad bit concerned about what a first attempt will bring and we are not a patient lot...has anyone tried doing a Mickey on a black shirt with reverse bleaching out? or maybe a stencil over and misting the shirt with diluted bleach?

Yes depending on the pieces if it is thin piece the line is going to look thin

Oh I so want to do this! I love tie dye :hippie:

How did you stitch the dental floss? And did you take it off after?

(sorry if you answered this already, but I didn't read through the whole thread....)
